I’m happy that you like my subtitles. This run makes you think what kind of TAS for RPG is good. e.g. Randam battle on FFs is unavoidable. Some people regard this as unsuitable for TASing. e.g. Which cutscene is better, longer or shorter? e.g. Is instant-kill better or cheaper? Sorry, this topic should come to the wrong place.

By the way,do you like "Mouryou Senki Madara (J).nes"-another Japanese RPG Game?It is also from Konami, and its music is VRC6.Do you want to tas it?~~hehehehe
Sorry, I’m not familiar with Madara series. TAS of Madara doesn’t seem to exist on youtube nor on nicovideo.

I found other tiles where step-counter(7E16A9) doesn’t count which have not been referred by Dominator. -> http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?fwmy5zefxwg This link includes two avi files and one savestate(.002). Compare these two avi files. Or you can check by yourself with the state file. (Note:v1.43, (J) rom) And I noticed another timesaver. Here. Look carefully the tile where Butz/Barts is. Left picture is a little faster.

Thanks for the comments, Deign. In endgame, there are many boss battles. It’s the highlight, I think. At the final and the second final boss, I took over 15k re-records. Optimization was very hard. Another person’s TAS is on youtube. So the run of this game was sooner or later submitted by someone, I think. My old run is on Nicovideo. I optimized at all points. It took about ten months. If you compare it with my submitted run, you’ll think the latest one is better, although it's natural.

In my experience on SNES version, RNG does NOT initialized after each battle so the last battle is very important. I don’t know it’s available for GBA version, but I hope it would be helpful.

I finished inserting subtitles. Here. ->http://pastebin.com/6cTc4iA4 Maybe it is self-righteous and necessary to be refined. I referenced about spelling from Ritchie’s guide on GameFAQs. http://www.gamefaqs.com/nes/570557-lagrange-point/faqs/56320 I don’t have any idea of the spelling of シュトルテ. EDIT: fewer subtitles ->http://pastebin.com/z9h2Pp9U I'm writing a submission text. I'll submit this run next week. EDIT2: Serious grammatical error exists in these script files. I mistook "as long as" for "unless." I'll update when I submit fm2. EDIT3: Updated. full of subtitles. -> http://pastebin.com/VWSHN1zW fewer subtitles. -> http://pastebin.com/u5Lj3mya

I appreciate your studying Japanese. “名前登録” literally means name registration, as you said, but in that context, it probably means, “Please enter the player’s name.” Of course it’s “Link,” but you can also change the name.

Same discussion has been taken place several times unsuccessively. Try this method by Halamantariel or this one by Bisqwit. And loading from savestates seems to cause desync, so avoid using it.

Aaaaaaaahhh, I have not noticed it until you pointed it out, boct1584. Thanks, but I’m going to continue lua-scripting. I’ve already done over 50% of it. Machine translations are very crappy, so I am translating them by myself. I’ll finish it in a few days. BTW, I have started to doubt again that this run is acceptable for non-Native Japanese, because there are many repetitive things on this run, though they are optimized from my first run if you compare them between my old run and the latest one.

LOL! When I visited here today, this movie had already been published, as woabclf said. So, it isn't necessary for me to vote, but I voted yes. AWESOME RUN! Congratulations on a special star, GlitchMan!

I did it! I did it! I completed this run! I accomplished unbelievably fast luckmanipulation! -> http://www.mediafire.com/?z3wargyimnz L: 1:03:25.10 F: 228682 R: 70633 Saved 7817 frames by my first old run. This run was harder than I thought. Optimization was really painful. Over 70k rerecords only in one hour RPG. About 200k rerecords if added my old run, v2 WIP, research fm2, etc. Now I’m going to work on inserting subtitles on lua. I’ll also insert Boss HP and step counter. I've already started. At first I wonder if I could do it, but now I’m sure that I can do it by myself.

Thank you for your good opinion, spweasel. The problem is that I’m not familiar with Mystic Quest :P. There are many cutscenes in FFs, so actually FFs are unsuitable for dual run, though I say it myself. Action or shooter are suitable for dual run, imo. I wasn’t a member of TASVideos when I was making this run. When I make another run, I’ll listen to other members’ opinion well.

Thank you, Velitha. You did hard work. Keywords may be 5; 6; V; VI; not 4; 5; IV; V. Thank you for correcting. All you have to do is to take a rest well.

Dramatically progressed. Beat Waiver. Over 50k rerecords. ->http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?40yn0y4t0yw Above is deleted since I redid the final turn in the battle with Waiver and saved 3 frames -> http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jnjzzxgndyj (Due to the limited file size, it can’t be uploaded on microstorage.) I was lucky in some battles. Others’ were painful.

What a great work for saving frames in almost all the levels! Even if without Noise Crash instant-kills, you would save a lot of frames like your 100% run. Easy yes vote. :) Of course, I like these cool ZIP glitches.

Japanese version with no notation in both games. Or you can watch my run on a streaming video site from the link in lower part of my submission text.

I think, if it's not too much work, that it would be greatly appreciated if you took the extra effort of doing a FFVI-only run. As you did this, you should be capable of obsoleting it quite a bit. But I can very well imagine that you're not really looking forward to TASing the game again right now. Anyway, on topic: this run is great. I haven't watched it all the way trough yet, but I really liked what I've seen so far.
Thanks. Obsoleting a published run of FFVI is possible, but erokky’s run is much optimized and almost all the route and the strategy will be the same as erokky’s. About abusing Moogle Charm: Yes, it should be blamed. :P Well, I’ll tell you more information. You can move before lightning up on FFVI. I used this trick. I also calculated and tested the step counter to be the largest with no encounter. i.e. I abused Moogle Charm not without thinking but with tests and calculations. That’s why I travelled without the Charm in one part of the Kefka’s Tower. I used this glitch since FFVI kept FFV waiting.

Thanks, moozooh. Those three glitch battles are the hardest part in this run, I think. The route is fixed on, so this run will have been finished by the end of this month if all goes smoothly. OK, I’ll explain the glitch battle, which is well known to Japanese players. First you have to disorder an enemy which attacks two times in one. Then if the disordered enemy attacks an enemy and beats it by the first attack, the second attack will hit a glitched enemy. The glitched enemy has tremendous EXP and Money. The glitched enemy varies according to monster formations. I had tested a lot. As proverb says, “Seeing is believing,” I took pictures the result of the glitch battle. The left picture says, “ Got 798244 EXP” and the right picture says, “You got infinite money.” Encountering the best monster formation was a hard work. Manipulating the battle was also painful. I had to manipulate the order of each character's action, damage, the action of the enemies. Leveling up also had to be manipulated. There is no escaping item or spell on this game. I had to manipulate Gin’s HP to be the smallest in order to do quick death warps. The latest WIP is obviously faster than my old run. Another remarkable point is getting EXP with running away. It isn’t necessary to win the battle for EXP on this game. I discovered it. I’m neither good at English nor lua-scripting. Inserting subtitles would be a hard work. Someone’s help might be needed.

Short text messages, quick “Got XX GP” messages after winning each battle and equipping Moogle Charm on any characters made this run shorter. I don’t think it’s faster than erokky’s run. My run on FFVI is 99% from his run and my luckmanipulation is a little worse than his. To obsolete is not a good choice, IMO.

Done final glitch battle, second and final Oregi and the part of Satellite Base. Now the beginning of the Land 2. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/549302861/TAS-LP-WIP.fm2.gz Manipulating luck was very hard.

Final battle may be.

Key-input of direction is only accepted every four frames in dungeon or in town on FFVI. I utilized it.

I've only seen the FFV run & the part 4 video, but I can say I really liked the outcome, though it would had been nice to add more battles in FFV (instead of walking around on the Void), such as Gilgamesh (all if possible) and Azulmagia (letting him learn self destruct). Or you could also had performed the Pyramid skipping bug (use Exit jikuu! on the library & visit Mirage Town early & maybe do the around-the-world side-quest).
Yes, it would be possible. I must have been lazy or tired at that time. Ah, how about updating your single FFV run? I don’t know the status of improving it. Perhaps Yu-ki(Hs) have been working on it. I added this which is edited at quad-speed.

For encoders: I think input display is to be on. My streaming encode is default setting, except for compressing. The sound volume in FFV is a bit loud, so adjustment might be needed. Separate sound like left is only from FFV and right is only from FFVI might be good. Thanks.

Awesome! Cucco slides are very entertaining, and buying a Hylian Shield in the shop is the fastest.

isn't it possible to skip the opening animations? would this save time, or is there some rule against it?
Concerning opening, if you have no save data, you can't skip title screen in FF5. In FF6, if you have seen opening, you can skip it. i.e. You have to see opening at least once. In RTA, start timing is starting New Game, but in TAS start timing is from reset. So we can't avoid seeing opening.

Actually, I don't know why I made this run.

doing 2 long RPGs?
There are many cutscenes, and major luckmanipulation is boss battles. Encountering bunch of enemies and running is just a routine work. So efforts might be smaller than you expected.
