you could pacifist all the yoshis. admitedly, it would be very time-consuming to do, especially if you want to rainbow them. http://www.tetrisconcept.com/pacifistdemo.m64

you can definitely pacifist link and yoshi team. the "cheat" you're talking about is pausing repeatedly to make the time counter slow down. it's no use to a tas. edit: i meant you can definitely pacifist link without the suck/blow and taunt. in fact, i'm pretty sure you can do this on every level save bonuses and master hand.

i also don't like the idea. it's already much of a hassle to put the things together required for viewing the movie. i don't think one more hindrance will make any benefit.

i think he was going for tgm rules, not srs, xkeeper. although, the 7perm piece generator's probably closer to tgm's generator than pure random. the real thing i'd worry about is wall kicks. they're amazingly important in 20g, but this game lacks any such ability. and oh yeah, heh-- i kind of told rzstephen about this thing.

i hate to go nitty gritty like this, but that's where you seem to want to take the conversation....

Who? I don't see comments from any judges before me about this game. List of current judges(I think there's a new one that wasn't there 5 months ago): Bisqwit, Truncated, BoltR, DeHackEd, Nach, Omega and me.
i've submitted twice for this game-- the first, I cancelled. despite this, the fact that no judge published (even if they didn't vote) is why i would say "it appears to me the judges had all ready decided on not publishing this run half a year ago."

You don't have a good point. You should elaborate more because this thread wasn't down. I think your attitude is such selfish and you feel hurted because some people don't love watching your movie
the thread was down-- a year down and stagnant. i feel insulted by you-- not anyone else. i think your little agenda to ressurrect and destroy was selfish.

Yes, so people that are saying that your movie is not entertaining are wrong. So, I am and should feel guilty.
here, you plainly avoided the rest of the paragraph. i never had a problem with people saying my movie was not entertaining. i'm saying you're full of it for an entirely different reason, which you'd know if you could read. you said i should be happy you posted instead of sending my thread directly to the grue. i'm saying that was not your agenda, since two people voted yes and you voted no-- and you still sent it to the grue. please mind the context next time.

once again-- plainly out of context.

I don't like watching this movie and because of that I am owning this forum. What's next? I am owning the universe? Your attitude let me think you think are the boss of this topic.
the way you threatened me (twice) and someone else (once) in this thread, i'd think you have a strong sense of owning things around here.

it appeared to me the judges had all ready decided on not publishing this run half a year ago. the only reason i saw phil had grave digged it up was just to find a way to put it in the grue, which he succeeded:

If you have problems with people's negative opinion about your movie and you only submit this movie for yoursel without caring about nesvideos community then it will be instantly rejected. Final verdict is clear.
an entirely elaborated attack. i don't care about the nesvideos community? come on. anyway, it's insulting you had to kick the thread when it was all ready down. i'd prefered you to just put it in the grue if you were so set on doing it anyway. if you say you were giving me a chance by posting, then you're full of it. you voted no, and as a result, two other people voted yes. your attempt on me swinged in the opposite direction (not the direction of the grue).

this submission has my name on it. if you're saying i don't have the right to defend my work, that i should just bow down to your selective enforcements without saying what i think , then yeah-- i should definitely know what to do-- call you ridiculious. nesvideos is lucky people submit their work. you shouldn't accept everything, no-- but you shouldn't treat a community like you own it.

this is the sort of rigid authoritarianism i see from so many mod-happy forums, which claim to enforce rules to promote civil and intellegent conversation-- but instead really just suck all the emotion and wit out of human dialogue. i don't have problems with negative opinions, and you'd know that if you'd read the whole thread. you know, nesvideos isn't a scholarly resource-- no matter how much you try to make it like one, and a tas isn't a dissertation. we're allowed to act like feeling human beings (or not?).

What kind of attitude is that. 1st of all, there's no rule that people can't vote 6 months later. 2nd. The question is "Did you like watching this movie? (Vote after watching!)" I am answering that it is repetitve and not impressive. I didn't like watching the movie. 3rd. Did you preferred me to reject your movie? If that's the case I will do it without any remorse. 4th. I think it is improvable. It doesn't seem perfect.
1. to vote for an otherwise half year stagnant submission is insulting, especially a negative vote. it's uncalled for. 2. it's repetitive and not impressive-- this doesn't add anything to the thread, nor does it help anything. if you've read the thread, then you'd know people have all ready established this complaint. 3. i don't care if you reject the movie. i excepted enough people didn't like it a half year ago. i did this run more for myself than for nesvideos, and even though noone published it, i converted it to video anyway, and i managed to entertain a large amount of ssb players and friends from other forums. 4. i conceded one flaw, which is to fall through the platform on btp rather than run off, which saves like 17 frames. if you've found some other way, please refer to them and not just say "it doesn't seem perfect"-- as optimal play in this game depends on very subtle manuevers you may not be familiar with. a half a year ago i managed to bite my tongue and try to be as pleasant about my submission as possible, despite what some people said-- but the fact that someone had the nerve to dig this thread up again to criticize an all ready dead topic just tipped the iceberg for me.

Yes it is a 3d game. Yes it is popular. But seriously it's repetitive and the ending isn't there(?) or is very bad. There's nothing that impresses me. I am voting no.
you're voting now? a half a year late don't you think? i pretty much excepted nobody much liked it then, so i don't see why you need to rub it in. i did it frame by frame. it's improvable, but by only a very tiny few frames. no one's showed kirby (or anyone else) can play it faster. i've tried the suck/suicide kirby trick, and it's still slower than fox b/c of kirby's awful run velocity, not to mention some players like kirby can't do team stages for crap. i get it that no one finds this run entertaining, but i did choose the most logical character and routes (save for 17 frames), and i did it frame perfectly, so please don't bash my work too much just because you don't fancy the gameplay, okay?

thanks. one more quickie. i'm used to, when i want to start recording from a movie file, 1. play file, 2. save state, 3. move up a frame, 4. load state. after that, i can record like normally, but fceu doesn't seem to work this way. any tips? edit: had read only on. sorry.

well, tetris dx has looser controls if anything comparably. even so, there exist many subtle differences between any two tetris releases. for example, tetris dx first implemented more symmetrical rotation-compensation rules that later games followed, and it allowed for ultra and 40line modes.

okay, added the extra input, but i certainly don't think a player competes in a game mainly just to see the ending. enjoy the fireworks.

"but I don't know how many more tetris runs we need." anything over 1 pushes it? =b about the last button thing-- i don't agree. the game ends when the last line clears.

well that's weird. every one that i've attempted, the requirements were in fact a camcorder. maybe they used to allow vcr runs?

might be surprised. the game's not that hotly competed over (don't trust the scores from mark johnson. he was caught cheating once). i think a tas of this game would look awesome.

i like max kills. it's more of a goal in the game than going for speed, and i think it'd be more difficult.

ha, that's a good idea, but i think that's why twin galaxies require some of the video to be on the player's hands and pad. have to film yourself turning on the console and all. i guess it'd be possible, but it doesn't really make a difference if it's possible or not. it's not like that nullifies any significance in the time attack world.

it's a little unethical to speedrun that way. the purpose of sda is for real life console, and the purpose for tas is for emulation, but the only purpose for speed running on an emulator would be just for those rare games you speak of. my suggestion: buy an old console for cheap and a capture card and start speedrunning the old fashion way. it's fun. btw, since the metroid2002 topic got locked (eh, locking is so nazi), i'd say "computer aided optimization" (cao) would be much more accurate than "tool-assisted speedrun."

i know. i'm all for criticism and improvement, but it's just that i'm kind of burnt out on ssb tas for now. i don't know. i might do something later, but right now i'm currently working on improving a time attack for a game in real time.
