Yeah that final boss part is priceless, I had to watch it two or three times before I got what happened :) When I first watched the movie I saw the "Movie end" message and I was like "wtf?"...

I kept some old AVIs as well, like the 16 stars TAS of Super Mario 64, because it's different enough from the 0 stars one to deserve a place on my hard drives. But this didn't prevent me from voting no. Either way, I already commented twice, so I'll abstain from commenting further in this thread unless asked explicitly, I don't like to repeat myself.

Voted to remove torrents. edit per Warp below: When I pointed out that some people can't download torrents, offering to make mirrors, I've been told that the main purpose of this site is to share input files, so any determined users can download them with the proper emulator and watch the movies by himself, and that the AVI files are just candy offered as a bonus for the ones who don't want or simply can't set up the emulators to run. Older movies can still be seen through the input file if one really wants too, and really interesting/innovative movies usually got one or more mirrors (sometimes even on Youtube), and those are staying. Besides, people like me and (mainly) ZeXr0 have been mass-uploading AVI files on archive.org, so there's an even higher amount of mirrors even for movies which aren't top class either. Keeping the torrents up, while they've never been in the past, may lead to confusion toward users who were used to see the error message for obsoleted movies, but it will also affect the behaviour of Bisqwit's bot that automatically seeds dead torrents: by using its bandwidth for obsoleted movies you make it harder for people to get the not-obsoleted one. So yeah, this is why I voted a strong no about this.

If you are a Windows user, get the latest ffdshow pack from free-codecs.com I had problems with some codecs too until I updated my ffdshow pack.

I'm not sure what I just watched, but I liked it, some sections even made me laugh (like when that guy runned through the gate). Yes, obsolete.

Ok, I know I promised not to nag anymore about this, but... Sheesh! Holy crap. A submission with 11% no votes and 29% meh votes, with a lively discussion going on, was published in only four days, while at the same time other submissions have been sitting there for over a month.
This.

I'm not saying this is sloppy, I'm just saying that I'm not voting yes on this. Here is where a "weak no" vote would be useful...

Shiny, you'll be surprised to hear this from me after what I've been saying in the past sometimes, but I will miss your encodes. I recently updated my codecs so I could play all your crazy MKVs without any problem :) But I can see your point, and I think you're right. Why bother helping when you think it's not worth it? So yeah, I am with you on this, a volunteer should do whatever he feels is the best thing to do, and nobody should blame you for that.

Voted no per the reasons above. If there are known improvements, and several people say this is improvable, then this shouldn't be published. Otherwise every first movie for any game would need to be accepted. By accepting a movie which is known to be suboptimal you would give ground for random newbies to post their sloppy attempts at every kind of game on Earth, because "sure, it can be improved later, and there is also that NSMB movie so I'm cool".

And if anyone comes to meet me I'll just make sure to prove that the stereotypes about Italians are right -- As I said, I'll bring you to eat pizza :P

I agree, 4 options are better than 5. Being neutral when it comes to decide if something is good implicitly means that we think it's not good enough. Maybe the options should be renamed a bit, though. Let's see:
  1. Awesome/Fuck yes: something I think it's really good and must be on the site, I'll be watching it again and again
  2. Normal yes: something good to watch, entertaining, but I wouldn't kill myself if it's not approved
  3. Meh/neutral: I don't care about this one, I'm not going to watch it again, I'm not impressed, etc
  4. Strong no: wait, what? Is this a joke? I can do better unassisted!

I've been using a completely black desktop for years, I could never stand colored desktops, not to mention pictures and shit, yet recently I found myself setting this pic as desktop on all the computers I use: Nostalgia anyone? =] edit:

This is probably old, but how did you get Winamp to use its alternate title bar?
In Winamp 2.x (not sure about the newer ones), select the main window and type "nullsoft" on your keyboard (press esc after each L since it will invoke the open file dialog)

Well, two days without an obsoletion are enough for me to vote YES.

Baxter: no, it's like the rating system, but with 3 levels of quantization on each axis instead of 101 (e.g. 1, 2, 3 instead of 0.0 to 10.0). Warp: the 3 levels can be made 5 :P Or 7, 9, 11, ... just not 101 or we would go back to where we were before.

Since I agree too, I'll just go ahead and quote myself from the past, when I made this suggestion of a 2-dimensional poll:

As for suggestions about how the voting system should be, what about if we go with mmbossman's rubric? Each submission can be equipped with a 3x3 grid (or 5x5 to add more resolution, though I would avoid that). Then, for counting purposes, there are two feasible ways: either count the individual votes like a normal poll, or calculate the weighted average and display the position on a graph. Here is a quick mockup: 1) the voting options 2) the results in a poll fashion 3) the results in a graphic fashion

Look at the filenames. The AVI below contains the magic word "subtitles" in its name.

Either way I'm at work now so I can't make other encodes. Also I'll abstain from voting on this for a few days, you can never know if someone else will find an even faster solution. But, if in two days, nobody supersedes this, I'll give it a yes.

I liked this. Short and apparently optimised to the max. Yes vote, and have a free encode, flygon. MKV'd for a change :P

It was like that before. You can vote any time regardless of decision.
Thanks for clarifying. I didn't have enough messages to vote back then, so I wasn't really familiar with the old system.

Could that blj into and out of water trick be of any use in a 120 star run?
I would guess so, namely for the 4 chests star as seen in the video.
