I once uploaded an 80fps video on youtube, and, even in HQ mode (&fmt=18), its frame rate has been reduced to 60. So yeah I think 60 is the limit.

I made an encode as my usual. I kept the subtitles in as suggested in the submission text.

To upload it on youtube it must be below 1024 megabytes (that, assuming that you have a pre-2006 director account), which means that the encode can't use more than 1 megabyte per hour, which in turn means 291 BYTES per second. Come on ShinyDoofy, delight us with some MKV magic :D

I don't get it... why is there tons of action with majoras mask, but no action here. Come on. This game is better than Majoras mask. (sorry for doublepost)
And I don't get why there is more action here than in the Super Mario 64 thread. Each of us has his favorite game, just stop it.

Yes, by now many forum regulars probably know that I make "temporary" encodes of the submissions in the workbench almost all the times unless I'm explicitly requested not to do so. So yeah, I'm not obtaining permission for each individual submission, though I respect the submitter's wishes whenever possible. My encodes of course fail #1 of Bisqwit's points above, though I follow all the encoders' guidelines related to tagging and formatting, so #2 and #3 are guaranteed. I do this, even if my encodes can't be used for actual publication (I deliberately use a much higher bitrate to ensure maximum quality), to help people vote on the submissions, and apparently my AVIs are actually used quite a lot, at least by looking at the download stats, so I'm glad to be helpful in some way :)

Flygon uploaded my unofficial encode. You're welcome to upload ShinyDoofy's official encode, so it can be put in the movie page as an official link.

That's a shame :( Apparently all the interest nowadays is towards other games, you know it's a bad day when the thread for Ocarina of Time gets more replies than this one :\

So wait, correct me if I'm wrong, there are two runs of SM64 being worked right now, right? Kyman is working on the not glitched 70 stars run, but I seem to remember that someone else was working on a renewed 120 stars run, complete with new glitches and strategies to obsolete the existing one... That, and I doubt that the 0 stars run is improvable further.

Chrome isn't bad, but I still prefer Firefox. I don't know if they fixed those issues in the newer releases, but I don't like how Chrome ignores <blink> tags, and how it doesn't support the wheel click+scroll feature. And many other minor issues, I'm just a Firefox fanboy :P Though, I have to use Chrome with Facebook because it gives me problems with both Firefox and IE. So yeah I have them all and while I use FF 99.89% of the times, there is the occasional website that forces me to use IE (yahoo answers) or GC (facebook) due to compatibility reasons.

Well, allowing != forcing Even if you move the AVI dumping routine there, the cool people will always get 1x AVI files. To be completely honest I never understood what passes through someone's mind when he decides to enable any kind of filter, if it was for me I would force any emulator to always output unfiltered stuff, but that's just me. Since people like eye candy, give them eye candy.

Sorry about that, I thought the lack of background was a side-effect of a glitch or something. I downloaded the [b1] rom which apparently looks fine and syncs, I will make a new encode with it. Please tell me if someone else was going to make it in order to avoid duplicated works; if everything goes well I will edit this post later with a link. edit: http://rapidshare.com/files/208532480/ghoulschool-tas-rik.avi

I would encode a video of it like I usually do, but I can't even find the rom :( The link for GnG on the website I usually use to find roms is 404'd

Can I ask you how you could upload a long video with your account? I'd like to know if I can do the same, the 10:59 limit irritates me a lot. Also, I forgot to mention, but archive.org also provides video streams in the same fashion as Youtube (embeddable, too). And the S3&K run was uploaded by me long ago, my memory fails :( You can watch it from this page.

I second this. Which means that you need a pre-2006 director account, or you will be limited at 10 minutes and 59 seconds. By searching on Youtube I found this guy, who is hosting some speedruns (I checked, some are new, some are obsoleted). Perhaps you can coordinate the efforts?
