Someone could TAS the NES remake (yes, re-, not pre-) of this game made by some crazy person. It's coming out on the 10th, and seems to be functionally equivalent to the Flash one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkp-v8dB6V0

At the age of 12, you should have had about 2 or 3 years of english classes at school (at least in germany, but it's similar in other european countries). Additionally, there aren't enough Dutch speaking people to warrant proper dubbing, most movies are broadcast in english with dutch subtitles. And with easy internet access for everyone there's enough incentive to actually learn english beyond the amount required by your homework. Still interesting to note that a 12 year old dutch is easier to understand than some older native speakers.
English lessons at school start at age 13-14 here. But the other points you mentioned are correct, and English isn't very hard anyways :)

Don't post answers here please, the quiz is relatively easy.
Some people here missed that, I think(!) Anyways I got 8 first, then 11 after reading this thread. (Then 16 after googling for the URL and finding a digg page containing the answers! ^^; )

Out of curiosity, nooodl, which language do you speak natively?
Dutch. Don't worry about not knowing about emulation when you were young, it probably didn't exist when you were 12. Also, "Only 59% of Belgians over 15 speak English"... They probably counted people over the age of 30 with that. I estimate that about 80% of Belgians of age 12-20 speak English good enough to understand basic sentences.

I see that your username for this site has 3 of the letter 'o', whereas your YouTube username has 4.
Good observation. There's some random German guy who just happens to have picked "nooodl" as his youtube username so I'm stuck with using the 4 o variant :( And to Highness - 12, male, Belgium. Never to young for TAS'es, but no pics though ;) And I'll try to do some massively, thought-through, entertaining, mind-blowing TAS'es later on!

Wow, I didn't even know such a program existed! Thanks a lot.

I can't seem to set the save state, load state, frame advance etc. keys to my USB gamepad. Is this normal? And is there some kind of workaround for this?

Actually, it is just a header serving as an introduction to a couple of different enter-the-wall techniques -- each of which _do_ have an animation.
Ah, ok. Maybe just make a new section for this one (enter a wall from standing under a corner)?

I looked at the Tricks page for Super Mario Bros. 1 and realized there's a glitch very briefly mentioned, but actually useful. There's no animated gif for it yet, but I think there should be one (preferably something like this.) Also, I've tried this underwater, but it seems to be very hard, if not impossible.

Yeah, for that reason, the first topic in the results was a Mega Man one. But still, it doesn't look like anybody is still working on a TAS. Does anyone here think it would be entertaining?

What? I swear I used the 'Search' function before making this topic. I guess this can get locked. :(

Why didn't anyone TAS this game yet? It seems kinda fun. I think I'm going to try it - here's stage 1. Play it on "Monster Party (U).nes". For those wondering why I keep getting hit: I think I save time by turning around 1 frame before getting hit and thus moving to the right a bit faster than walking. It does look kind of stupid, and doesn't save me that much time, so I don't know if I should use it or not.

I can't find an introduction topic. Is there even one, and if so, could someone redirect me to it? Or is this one of those forums where you just start posting as if you were always here? I hope it's alright to ask this here... O_o

Mine are extremely weird, partially due to the fact that my laptop is very picky when it comes to what keys can be pressed at the same time, and partially due to that my keyboard layout is different (I'm from Belgium). For FCEUX ←↑→↓ = Arrow Keys A = Left Shift B = [<] (which is just right of left shift on AZERTY keyboards, in QWERTY it's "\" I think) Sel = Ctrl Start = Space Autofire A W (left of X on AZERTY) Autofire B X Save State 1 C Save State 2 B Load State 1 V Load State 2 N Speed up R Speed down F Frame Advance Numpad 0 I think that's it. I don't really use Frame Advance a lot because I can't do Shift + [<] + Arrow keys + 0 >_> EDIT I now have a USB controller, yay! Does anyone know how I can set my buttons to do stuff like load and save states in FCEU?
