It would seem so. I didn't know it at the time...but it appears that the C64 prompted the creation of the Arcade version. I know this is years late, but finally...the C64 version is here. :)

Something that I failed to mention in the submission text, yet I feel it needs a discussion. The last input, which terminates the final bonus level...can actually be removed. This means that this movie could be reduced by 525 frames. The only thing is..the ending would have a scene that will be confusing...where the main character just sits there for about 20 seconds, before automatically ending. Anybody got a word on the choice for this ending? Should we just leave the termination input in?

I may seem like the odd ball for liking a game like this, but this brings back memories of certain games that I played in my youth...only on the Commodore. I can't speak for the routing, but the speed and control of RNG seems impressive enough for me to vote yes.

I love this game...although I played it on the Commodore 64 growing up. I doubt we will ever have any excitement for TASing that C64 version, since it is 255 levels of sloooooow play. Yes vote.

Wow...glitchy! Optimized and massive lag reduction? I personally try to deal with Lag in all my TASes...not an easy task. All this is a recipe for a Yes vote!

Are you referring to a situation like my Alien 3, where I chose the hardest? With that game, the levels are all the same. The only change is the frequency of alien spawning. Bolderdash doesn't have an increase of speed or more moving obstacles to avoid, its just differen patterns that forces a route change and different strategies to apply. Does that make the difference?

Because of the recent rule changes, I'm a little concerned that my work on an existing TAS will be rejected for reasons which makes it incomplete. With Bolderdash, there are 5 levels of difficulty with 16 screens each. If you change the level of difficulty, the same screens are presented with variations that make it slightly more difficult...as you increase the level. What I am currently working on is the hardest level. So I'm not exactly sure if this means I should start with the easiest and progress through to the hardest.

I don't know the order in which they are looking at accounts, but if they are not going through each account one at a time (without requests), then the only thing I have done is keep responding back to the emails that were sent. I have responded every time I got a rejection.

First, I want to mention that I was a fan of this game when it first came out. Although I never beat it, it does bring back some good memories. After watching, I was lost at how all this was being accomplished...but your submission answers the fact of what is happening to make this go by so fast. I haven't touched many games that can be glitched this way, but it is interesting to see how you populate your save data to obtain those red jewels. Well, this is a very good first submission. I am tore between Yes and Meh...but I will give you a Yes.

yeah. the newest version of the human TAS actually does have a direct path, but when i made this non-human tas i had to do something different. one of the hugest difference between the routes is doing the 12 consecutive frame-perfect shimmies at the beginning to get the quick 1st encounter. that causes jaws to be in a different spot then he would be normally. it's also what caused jaws to appear during the encounter, which i totally forgot about when writing my comments on the run. i was pretty surprised by that. luckily i was able to swim around him without any time loss. the main issue with controlling the overworld is "where is jaws and where is he going?". if i had taken the direct path, jaws would have moved NW instead of W at a critical moment. i'm also trying to hit a particular encounter trigger to get the encounter rng i'm looking for.
Excellent. What looks unoptimal to non-speed runners, turns out to be lots of studying to makes things faster. Well, I have to say this was interesting enough to comment on. I love how TASes, like this one, show that extra time savings that gives hope for future WR's.

According to your submission, RNG control is key. So, I noticed that your route was not designed to get straight to the area where you hit something (from 0:29 to 0:36). Forgive my ignorance, but I saw the same thing in your WR run. I suppose that is how you finish that segment ASAP? Appears that your speed running has paid off in this run. Your recent WR gives good support to the creation of this. Great job and Yes vote.

Nevertheless, it still has some potential to have a decent TAS "volume #2", but for this to happen, the game has to be brute-forced for all questions and prescribed answers which would let you come up with hilarious answers
I'm not sure a volume #2 would be a good idea. It might open up the flood gates for endless submissions. If that was allowed, then TASes that have the same frame count could be judged as another volume for the same category, where different things were done for entertainment. I don't know, since it is a "Playaround"...you might be on to something. I just think that volumes would have to be defined for the rules so that it doesn't overwhelm the site.
