And another update stands. The other night, I compared my status to the one that the SGA player was in going to the 4th boss. An Alalart "Solar Eclipse" appeared for him after a few battles, but that never appeared on me! After I changed my class to Fighter at some point to have Rainy join me, I was stuck in that class for the remainder of the unfinished run. As I attempt to make another TAS of this game from a clean start, not only I am looking to correct several mistakes I made, but I am also looking to follow this piece of procedure that I suddenly ignored:
Fly back to Farvil and change you class back to Magician. While you are here, max out your bread and mashroob supply.
For some reason, I thought I would trust the Alalart Solar Eclipse, but that is one big reason I only got as far as the boss in Chapter 4. From there on, I couldn't do anything, so I had to forfeit the first. I send a big FUH-Q to that lousy solar eclipse because for a TAS'er, it means nothing until it appears at the right time. It did for that SGA guy, but my God... =/ The more I learn, the better this TAS can be. Should I give up? Not yet. Wish me luck, guys! And thanx for the big support. =)

I wish it was possible to glitch way through the ground to take the elevator straight to Mother Brain without defeating the bosses; if that ever does happen, make sure Samus has at least 3 energy tanks to face Mother Brain's crazy-looking light-wave.

another update, I have completed chapter 3, emulator's still running good. I think I killed a little bit of time messing with the stores, but my overall objective is to make sure I have plenty of mashroobs and MP to defeat some tough bosses. I use casinos to get more rupias and avoid getting thrown in debt from some old man. Furthermore, I am playing/pausing that SGA run and studying as much as I can from it so I can determine what all I can work around to superiorly progress in the game. So far, I think I have saved at least 2 minutes, if not, more than that. Based on player decisions from the SGA and the frequent use of slow-downs/rerecords, I know this game can be beat in less than 80 minutes. Wish me luck! I'll be there at the end soon. =)

It didn't say it was clean, but it will be Magic of Scheherazade, The (U).nes And this will be the emulator I will use. I think I came up with a pretty good strategy. I want to go into the Casino at Poponoll and walk out of there with 999 C. Hopefully, that can more than enough to get the things I need for the adventure. But it is 5 chapters so it will take strategy, luck manipulation, and time. Also, I'll be looking to put the carpets to good use so I can breeze through most of the worlds. update: Okay, I am almost done with Chapter 1. I didn't spend a lot of time in the casino to manipulate luck and build 999 rupias, but, I did score about roughly 600 to get the carpets, enough mashroobs for magic attacks, some bread to recover me, and finally the horns i need to awaken the statues in every boss stage. I thought I can close my notebook lid, keep the program running (pray FCE Ultra does not hang), and pick up on this tomorrow =)

Okay, but still. To say the least, I once stayed up all night doing a WIP of Godzilla 1.

I've been on a roll, and I actually got up to that point. I got as far as the fortress in Ch. 2. I read the strategy guide and it said to use a Horn to wake up one of the statues going into the boss. Obviously, I didn't know if I had to get one from a town or even had to go back in time like I did to get Faruk.

It seems you can sequence break in the second area, as Supica and Gun Meca are optional, as you can get your way through the desert without having Supia guide you.
I see there's a speed run, but it's not TASvideos related because it was not yet published here. I'm looking to study this game first so I can memorize everything I need to do and it will take time. Then I'll see how fast I can I get to Sabaron. ;) And now I update. The SDA video was lagging at the beginning where the player spent too much time selecting message speed and difficulty. If that part was TAS'ed, that would have saved a tremendous amount of time. The player also killed more time entering "Marc" as a name. A faster time can really be set for this game. How many of you want to see this as a TAS done the right way? I'll aim for about 1 hour and 10 minutes at the most. It'll take a few days, but leave it to me!

That was one of my ideas. And I got another strategy. It takes straight luck manipulation to do it. But in that same part where Samus has to use missiles to take out those crazy-looking containers that shrinks. On one part, there is Samus that jumps while in the air (after coming out of a morphing ball) to blast away on those things. The other part is freezing one of the "cheerios" in the right section next to the containers so that Samus would get closer to them and increase the speed of missile shots just to get rid of them quicker. It's similar to standing right next to the 10-missile door after entering Touria, but either way, it has to be the precise aim or Samus can't get through. Which reminds me, this demo of mine shows that Metroid lags when Samus is trying to get rid of them things... Grr...

I had problems keeping both the fastest TAS and my restart sequence demo (both beginned when Samus left Kraid's lair) synched, but the fast TAS (climbing) was at least 1 sec. quicker than mine. Another thing I was thinking about. Could it be possible to try to work around walls and attack Mother Brain from behind? We know there is a big gap between the hidden escape exit and the back end of the brain's glass container.

I've compared the run between the restart sequence and the fastest climb after leaving Kraid's hideout. The restart sequence was not as fast as I thought. =(

I don't know if it would be any faster to use it quicker to get to Kraid's hideout. I mean in that one part, a TAS'er used the left door to glitch into the platform on the left. But when I looked there, there was no platform on the right, so Samus didn't have to run a lot from the right just to take the fall. However, she did have to run all the way over there (from the left) just to get there, so I think frames may be wasted should the TAS'er attempt this stunt. Another thing I need to compare. When getting out of Kraid's hideout, is it any faster to climb back up? Or what about using a restart sequence as soon as Samus leaves Kraid's hideout via elevator? Kinda like this.

Okay, it is possible to do a door glitch from the right side of the screen, too!

Something I was thinking about. If we can do a door glitch from the left, can we do one from the right? Another thing I was thinking about: can we do a speed run using the "JUSTIN BAILEY ------ ------" password? If so, we can just grab a freeze ray and go straight to Touria; we already have enough missiles to destroy Mother Brain, we just have to dodge the metroids and some of those little "cheerios" that keep popping out.

Yeah, I thought most games released by Nintendo would have at least one programming error or even a flaw, lol...

LMAO, was there a door glitch on this game, compared to Metroid 1?

YouTube has a 10-minute limit. Plus there may be "copyright owners" that want to leave their bullshit on videos they would come across. Hey that's what they did my 6-glitch Dave Mirra game a while back. YouTube is nothing, I recommend MegaVideo better.

If we put these two dolphins in a slobber-knocker event, who do you think would win? This is almost similar as X (Mega Man) taking on Samus Aran.

Okay, I have seen that one guy on Battle of Olympus over-react to left+right and even Link out of Zelda II, what about Mario out of this one?

Did anyone use tool-assists to try to finish off the enemy ship (space stage) quicker? I wonder how easy that can be?

I been using AVIZlib codec when pulling an AVI off an FCM, like the instructions said at the main site. In config, I select "Hi Compress" and check Null Frame.

I think I found a better way to manipulate luck in this game! I have learned that each game in play randomizes each number in roulette and each card in 21/poker. I'll have to use separate games to determine the best hands played and combine several games into 1. This way, I can get a better hand everytime. As I do, I have to make sure the dealer's money, my money, and the music is kept exactly the same as it is the whole time. This will take a lot of save states, but this certainly should not be any mean of cheating. As I aim for faster times, I will try to get a number as close to 1 as I can in roulette, to save frames. I will also seek to get either off-the-bat 21 or successful split-based double-downs in 21, and I will also try to end each hand with a least a three-of-a-kind. I know some of you are getting sick and tired of pairs, well guess what, so am I! =/

Okay, I was bored and so I changed my mind and decide to play through this game. I will post my first WIP of this video sometime later today. In Roulette, it is by far the easiest and little luck maniupulation is required. But when I got up to the King when playing this part, there was a "limit" on the money I was forced to carry. It was exactly $1 M. I had about $167,000 when I placed 5 bets on # 15. After it landed on the 15, payout was 35 to 1, however... this payout should have been $1.8 milllion! But the King said $833,350 instead. I can't believe I was so ripped off! In 21, I had to examine each hand and determine what would be the best ways to get through it or around it without losing a lot of money. Luck manipulation is extremely difficult here! Memory addresses are very hard to discover and/or change just to get the right card at the right time. But anyhow, there has been hands where I would have to bet little on hands that wouldn't beat or would bust upon each dealer. Then there were hands where I was able to use splits, double-downs, or both, just to drain their money and try to finish them off quickly. I beated Rocky using a 21, and Nikoria with a split-up where both of my hands each had a double-down. And finally, draw poker. Again, luck manipulation is extremely difficult here, too. It is by far impossible to even get a royal flush. The best hand I had was just a Flush by itself. But after I beated Allton, I started showing greed by betting and raising the pots back-and-forth to further drain their money and use the best hands possible to capture them every time. When you watch the movie, maybe this might save you some time because that could be the key to a decent to perfect TAS. For Allton and the King, I placed them in a situation where they had to forfeit in the middle of a dealt hand. Thus, I beated them hands-down under that circumstance. The "Mystery Leader" is the exact same character like the one in Casino Kid 1. It's "King"! This was a so-called "final battle" through, in sequence; roulette, 21, and finally draw poker. I didn't become an instant millionaire until after I beated the King in Roulette. Not only there was a $1 million limit on that game, but for 21 as well. Either this was a programming error, or the developers really pissed players off by throwing this in on purpose! Again, Casino Kid got ripped off after these two battles against the King, however, it wasn't over yet. I recalled not only the judgment strategies in 21, but the back-and-forth betting and raising strategies in draw poker as well. After I beated the King, I walked away with $1,100,000. But I will go back and recalculate how much Casino Kid should've had after being ripped off by the game. Anyhow, I had to go through the screens where the King said I was #1 and that I became the best gambler in the world or something. And that should be the end of the movie. I beated the game in 24 minutes. Only countless hours of random luck manipulation could save up to a minute off of the run that I done last night. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/901118430/casino-kid-WIP-v1-symbolic-X.fcm According to recalculation, Casino Kid should've ended up with $2,174,650.00! What a million-dollar highway robbery... =/

Guys, I don't mean to bump if I did, but I was wanting to ask if anyone found or abused any glitches or programming errors in this game? And would this benefit or back-stab the player?
