I assume the main reason it lags was simply the (U) label?

If you can put a lot of nerves of steel into the game and make the attempt to speed-walk without being stopped, you might cut up to half of a minute off my WIP and possibly get the attention of Bisqwit once you submitted the movie. Good luck! =)

It looks pretty simple. But watch out, there will be enemies approaching you all at once, so their bullets can sometimes be hard to dodge as you walk through the game. And I don't think Robocop will walk any faster than he is.

and now, the first draft - 7:09.1 http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1867339189/NES-waynes-world-tas-v1-symbolic-X.fcm There are a few things I can breeze through, and most things are quicker to get through and beat. It ends when Wayne delivers the last kick to some crazy dude that jumps around. =)

"It's Wayne's World! Wayne's World! Same as Rocky! And Bullwinkle! Another legacy! $hitted on! Tough to beat! Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-woo..." Yes, in fact this is just like Rocky and Bullwinkle. The thing is that there is no extra speed given in this game among Bullwinkle's Horn Charge in the other, so hold on to the constant walking button and don't stop for anything! Also, it takes even more luck manipulation since Garth has a zap gun while Wayne doesn't. Furthermore, the game will not let you switch between Wayne and Garth, and that's bogus. =/ I'll work on this game soon. =)

I see ya did quite well, but I think you abused the jump command quite a lot. Plus I checked out how many Krusty heads you should have avoided. Comparing between the Krusty heads collected in the movies:
          		  Mine
China 6 0
North Pole 0 0
Egypt 4 2
I did not include Hollywood because that was the last stage of the game and I won't count Krusty heads on that. But the more you collect, the longer that the movie could be. If for any reason we can maybe aim for 8 minutes or below using a clean rom, that will be a challenge for the both of us. But I just don't see how Phil and Baxter live far from each other and still beat Legend of Zelda in record time, lol...

I don't know if this site takes movies out of any roms that were glitched out, hacked, or damaged, but it's worth a shot. =)

Filename was "Simpsons,_The_-_Bart_Vs._the_World_(U)_[!]". I don't know if you had one with a [b?] dump but I'm sure its errors and glitches can make runs that fast. For me, there were limitations (speed, jump height, ammunition, timing) that made me had to settle for 9:17. So yeah. =)

Significant improvement in my 4th attempt at my record. It is now 09:17.08 http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/933477903/NES-simpsons-bart-v-the-world-tas-v4-symbolic-X.fcm Here are the improvements I did: - I cleaned up the "crash into brick wall" mistake in Egypt's Great Pyramid. - I avoided the "invisible statue" power-up and 2 more Krusty heads in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. However, I still had to avoid and/or get rid of the dirt devils; they were still in my way for the most part. - I cleaned up the "unnecessary ladder-climbing" mistake in Hollywood's pirate ship (Soundstage 1) and took a shortcut that also saved much time. - The biggest improvement of all lies in the RIP wall section of Hollywood's "Crematory" (Soundstage 2). Based on the previous movie where Bart was able to jump onto a certain platform that was hard to reach, it was basically somewhat made up of stage layout patterns. I was able to have Bart achieve this goal three times which strictly served as a shortcut and saved a heap of time! There was a glitch I found in North Pole's Frozen River stage. It is where after Bart lands on side of an iceberg, the game warps him to the other side! Call this a program error worth abusing if the player is good at it. All I did was just show it one time; it does take practice! As soon as I gave the last hit to Erich Von Burns to end the game and the movie, Bart takes damage from Burns' last green cone! And that sucked. That can be almost similar to having klmz take a hit immediately after finishing the first boss in Journey to Silius. =/ I tell ya, some games will do that to ya. Wow... And one more thing that I think is without a doubt the most sickest and most twisted part of the movie. In fact, this should bring a little more entertainment. In the first part of Hollywood's "Crematory", Bart takes damage by shoving his head into a hopping statue! It is seen where the statue placed its hands on Bart's neck, but you can't see his head from underneath! Okay, so to summon things up, this game can now be beat in under 10 minutes and the improvement from my last run is 57 seconds! Be sure to have a clean ROM before you hit the emulators. Enjoy! =) Thanx to all, and good night. ;)

Finally got the first WIP arranged - 5:03.03 Watch out, there will be some annoying stuff! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/798980418/adv-of-rocky&bullwinkle-unofficial-tas-symbolic-X.fcm If that ain't enough, here's my encoded AVI (need WinRAR and VLC with H264): http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/2/4/1739991/adv-of-rocky-and-bullwinkle-unofficial-tas-symbolic-X.rar
- Manipulates luck - Aims for fastest time - Takes damage to save time - Abuses programming errors in the game ("Goof" bomb disrupts background music) - Genre: Action/Adventure

I almost have the run complete. But there are things that make me bleed my eyes out! The controls are not responsive, even at 50% speed on FCE Ultra. I'm talking about throwing a bomb or even jumping, it just sucks. Turbo-B or Turbo-A does not work, except when zooming through the level screen to get to the next stage. I'll try to come up with a good script to further explain how bad this game is. I can beat it within 5½ minutes though!

I seek a PlayStation emulator that would carry the exact same features as FCE Ultra and Visual Boy Advance, where it is possible to make small movie files while emulating PlayStation ISO's/BIN's. I'm talking re-records and even AVI recording. And what I mean by this is that there are quite a few pretty good PSX ISO's/BIN's to TAS off of. But the question is do we have a perfect emulator (and a combination of BIOS images and drivers) that would get the job done? I doubt that a PSX emulator as good as FCE Ultra and VBA exists, but I look forward to obtaining this in the future. Until I see another PSX emulator, I stick with ePSXe. Thanx for understanding.

I recently read that this NES game really sucks. And as per the developers of THQ, they did an excellent job by $hitting on the legacy of this 60's popular cartoon show; just by writing a game where music can give anyone an ear tumor, and the controls are not as responsive as it should. But luckily, just like Skate or Die 2, this too can be also be used to one's advantage if possible. This here is what I believe can be another TAS-able game. But there is a downside: Energy is limited and that either taking damage / using Rocky's fly-around / using Bullwinkle's horn charge strictly will cost energy. The most annoying thing about this game, ever, is a "Goof" bomb that warps directional movement and intentionally messes up game music. Especially the first stage; so I'm sure this may not be a submittable FCM. Once I get my first WIP and clean rom, you guys will definitely see how worst this game could get. Luck manipulation plus strategic/conservative use of energy is the only way to get through this game quickly. Again, it may be annoying, but it's worth a try to see what a TAS can do here. Wish me luck. =)

Here is a short roulette demo WIP: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/5224075/Casino%20Kid%202%20%28U%29.fcm There are "bet ranges" that puts limits on how much the Casino Kid would want to gamble. Obviously, the limits will lengthen this run and could make it too long. So strategies and luck manipulation is important.

Straight flush or royal flush either way, but I have to agree that it can be boring. Can we at least change memory addresses on cards to try to randomize and manipulate luck a little easier? Like a Game Genie or something? Or could that be illegal in TAS? Another thing I am looking to do is manipulate luck in blackjack, is if I either get the 21 immediately or try to get 21 after a double-down call. Either way, that drains 2 to 3 times more money quicker from the dealer.

This is yet another RPG that so far I haven't seen anyone tried yet. I read about the strategy of beating Water World Mooroon (chapter 1), but I never got the time to play through the chapters beyond that. There are two different types of battle, one where enemies move around and the other where it's classic sort-of (surprised by the enemy and choosing what to do [battle, run, use item, ect.]). There are 25 ability levels, but for each chapter, the game caps your level until you beat a chapter... Chapter 1 - LV 5 Chapter 2 - LV 10 Chapter 3 - LV 15 Chapter 4 - LV 20 Chapter 5 - LV 25 ...and so forth, but it depends on how long the game is. It may take at least an hour and a half to beat the game and run through its strategy.

This is another one of those gambling games that involve poker, blackjack, and roulette. There are fewer opponents in blackjack and poker than CK1 (there are a lot in that game, though!), so this shouldn't take too long to beat. Raw luck manipulation is the key to getting through this game quickly, but the roulette players are in fact the easiest to beat. A perfect score on a single roulette game is 35:1, so when I do this run, I'll save roulette for last so I can try to achieve maximum money! =)

As of today, I officially abandon the run (WIP project) through this game. But I'll keep on training and see if there are any better wrestling games to TAS through. Thanx for advice, guys! =)

Yeah, there were a small amount of wrestling and grappling moves to input. There wasn't as many. There were also finishing moves after grappling an opponent, but still, there wasn't many. DDT, Piledriver, vertical suplex, and body throw. Yeah. It may be impossible to throw a combo.

If I wanted to pull a "test0.sub" off a VBM file, is there a different version of "GENSUB" that would do that? Obviously, the nesvideos one doesn't work.

And that is one thing I'm never good at. But if you got the nerve to find memory addresses for matches assigned, go for it! =)
dromiceius wrote:
If the former, we can probably find a memory address that predicts which type of match is going to be assigned.
On the other hand, it will be opponents randomly assigned to you for each time you play through the game. Anyone can come out, but for that movie I upped, here's the card I had: N=Normal // SC = Steel Cage // H = Handicap 2-on-1 // IC = Intercontinental title // WH = World Heavyweight title [N] Road Dogg [N] Jeff Jarrett [N] Big Boss Man [N] Billy Gunn [N] Val Venis [SC] Shawn Michaels [N] Ken Shamrock [IC] X-Pac [N] Val Venis (2) [N] Kane [H] Road Dogg / Ken Shamrock [N] The Rock [N] The Big Show [N] Mankind [N] HHH [WH] Undertaker [N] Mankind (2) [N] X-Pac (2) [N] Undertaker (2) [N] Mr. McMahon I guess we all can say, if you can do a speed run through any wrestler that gets in your way, or even do a speed run through "The Game" (Triple H), you can speed run through Wrestlemania! ~winks~

1st WIP released -- Beated in 11:04.73 There was one little problem during the playthrough though... there is no way to manipulate luck into what type of match that Mr. McMahon will put you in. Thus, Steve Austin (default pick from wrestler selection screen) had to face Shawn Michaels in a steel cage. This means I had to wear down the opponent using a few grappling moves and 3 Stone Cold Stunners to finish the job, climb the cage, and get back on the fast track. I'll release a 2nd WIP soon. I am sure there is some way to try to beat this a little bit quicker but I can't make any promises. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1053657172/WWF%20WrestleMania%202000.vbm

I may not use Austin for this run, unless he's the very first character that shows up in the selection screen. But no matter what, I don't feel any need to waste frames by switching characters.

Switching emulators here, this will be the next game I can TAS off of. I did play this game several times recently, and as I fought through it, like Tournament mode, I already planned out the best strategy of getting through this game quicker. Listen, people... it takes longer to wear down your opponent for a 3-count than it would take to throw him out of the ring and try to win by count-out. So winning all matches by count-out will be my strategy for this game. Now I can also play matches long enough to achieve full strength and execute finishing moves like HHH's Pedigree, the Stone Cold Stunner, or even the Tombstone Piledriver, but I won't waste frames by doing that. So to put this in the shortest detail possible: strategy and luck manipulation are the only ways of getting through this game quickly. And it will all end with Vince McMahon saying "...you son of a b*..." Finally, a nice credit-roll. =) COMING SOON to TASVIDEOS.ORG!!!
