I'm pretty sure many of us do.
The current published run used the (J) version due to "more entertainment" and shorter conversation times, the latter of which is not explicitly spelled out, but implied in the submission/publication:
Hence why this submission, played on the (NA) version, is slightly longer, despite many optimizations and improvements.
At about 17:58, in the "Find Hidden Base" mission, Zero seems to dash on spiked ground when clearing the three falling spikes just before the ice area.
What's going on there?
If an "arm cannon upgrade" only run is indeed faster than the 100% run, which of the following would be most likely to occur?
A highly optimized submission accepted for publication would:
A. Obsolete the 100% run (not likely)
B. Obsolete the "no items, best ending" run
C. New category (fastest time)
Obviously this is only in the event it is faster, so as not to cause controversy over the arbitrary item collection in case it ends up slower than the 100%.
I'm trying to figure out why the time is 41:18.38
At that point the game's credits have been rolling for awhile, so no input would be present or needed there, right?
If anything, the last input would be at around 40:2x.xx after skipping the final cutscene with Zero and the scientist, if I'm not mistaken.
That assumes that the bosses aren't killed just as fast as the any% (current) TAS, which already uses many of the EX skills.
And I just rewatched the current TAS; Zero maintains an "A" rank throughout. (Getting "S" twice early on)
So, actually, no, the boss fights wouldn't be much different, unless radical new strategies are created.
Ironically, if we expect all twelve EX skills to be obtained, that means cyber-elf usage will need to be carefully considered, as fusion elves carry a permanent score penalty. (Satellite elves do not.)
And if rank drop below A/S, then the EX skill of that boss cannot be obtained, making 100% impossible.
I remember playing the Windows edition/variation/knockoff called Jezzball.
Shit was mindblowing at the time.
Possibly a playaround TAS?
Draw faces, or write out messages?
The "plays at the hardest difficulty" affects how much time you get to complete each bonus stage.
In your movie (nfq), every stage is set to 60 seconds.
In this movie, that time has been reduced in every case.
For example, 1-1 gives the player EIGHT (8) seconds.
While it doesn't actually affect speed, it makes each stage slightly more exciting when the timer isn't so generous.
I remember playing this game a long time ago. Ironically, it was never on any computer my family members used, only at friends' places.
I don't know if it was because their computers were STATE OF THE ART (at the time) and our computers were unable to process SUCH CUTTING EDGE GRAPHICS or vice versa.
A quick refresher from wiki indicates that this game has 100 levels. And that a DS port is indefinitely on hold.
Things I loved about this TAS:
-Defend The Base cleared in 9 seconds
-Zero's levelling up method
-WTFPWNing every boss/miniboss (especially the flying purple duo)
Yes vote.
I'm not sure a 100% would be different enough from the current run (same route and all) to warrant publication.
What about the other cyber-elves? Are there any which increase Zero's speed (dash/climb/etc.) which can be leveled up efficiently enough to warrant using?
