Almost certain Tails is also slightly shorter than Sonic. It is not much but it helps in getting times of 0.53 in Death Egg without being killed in the process during non tool assisted play. Not 100% sure about that though. I will check on TSC in the morning and edit the post.
I don't know about that, but Tails is slower. Or at least, he seems to be slower, since he can't reach his last run animation on flat ground by just pressing a direction. This may be placebo though, and his max speed matches that of Sonic anyway so it doesnt matter. Personally I'd love to see a Super Sonic run.

You may know this already, but the AI will not advance in from off-screen as long as you are on the same plain with them. Moving up-down makes them move in more often.

The lightning powerup is a must for this game, or else the later bosses will be near impossible to kill. Heck, you won't be able to get near them without being hit a lot of times, since the later levels spawn a ridiculous amount of baddies - all of whom are very powerful, even if you are on your max level. There are two tricks you can do to kill bosses extremely fast. - Use the ball'o'fire. Get close to an enemy, and turn around - position yourself so the fireball goes to sit at the exact place where the boss is. The Ball O'fire does extreme amounts of damage, at all times, its attack power only controls how much damage it recieves when it is hit. - The Rolling Thunder. Let it charge up, go and take some damage, and move into the damage spot of the enemy you are facing. Then use the rolling blast. If you position yourself right, every part of the rolling blast will end up inside your enemy, since its hitbox overlaps the root of your thunder completely. But make sure that it overlaps at least your front blasts in case the enemy is not big enough (stage 2 boss). I didn't check your gmv files but with these tactics I can kill the first boss in 2 seconds flat, in real time battle, and the second boss before it enters its second loop.

I like this, and its the only possible way you could make a movie out of this. The game has an infinite game mode normally, and if there is no set goal, you cannot make a timerun. Flash Columns would be pointless to make movies of, since you can just luck manipulate them so they start up with a 1-hit-win situation.

It's been a while I played this awesome game but I recall that its possible to skip the first boss (the huge cannibal dude that uses his helmet as a boomerang). You have to take the highest route possible, do a long jump, and use your airwalking.

I haven't played this particular Madou Monogatari game (I hate dungeon crawlers, and the language barrier doesnt help either), but Bayoeen is the "ultimate" spell in literally every iteration of the series - even in Puyo Puyo. On the Saturn MM game, it does non-elemental damage to all enemies. On the SNES game, it was a happiness bomb that made enemies forget about attacking you for a while. There are a few japanese sites with huge character encyclopedias for Madou Monogatari, the easiest to navigate (that I know of) is this: http://suwa3.web.fc2.com/data-kan/index.html Do note that it stuff written about every MM game, not just the Megadrive one. Use this tool for translation, it is much better than the crappy google translator: http://www.ocn.ne.jp/translation/?tool3 Also, I can help translating the character names if you need. The "girl with the broom" is probably called as Witch, if it is the blonde little girl with blue outfit. You can tell the character names are imaginitive.
