Actually, the trilogy already *is* complete - there's already a Ninja Gaiden 2 run by Drew.

It was a different level than world -1. I had a game over in world 8, then from the start screen, held A and start button to continue. It took me to that level instead. I can't seem to reproduce this trick. I made a savestate of it if you guys want to try the level. http://members.shaw.ca/richu/SMB.zip
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do you load that?

Nice. The end is a bit dull, of course, with the endless repetition of doing one damage to the dragonlord, but I guess that's something that can't be avoided, so one can't blame you for it. ^_^

Just watched the second WIP, and I really liked it. ^.^ BTW, does swimming backwards save time, or do you just do it because it looks interesting? :)

I have just finished 1-1 to 1-4. Evidently, I use the beginning of my precedent movie. It can be downloaded there: http://hiddendragon.sytes.net/Super%20Mario%20Bros.%20(JU)%20(PRG0)%20%5b!%5d.zip If there's something wrong, tell me.
The link doesn't seem to work...

I think pulling down the flag from the pole takes the same time no matter how high on the pole you jump, so it shouldn't make a difference.

Sadly, even the "verified good dump"s have sometimes "DiskDude!" in their headers.
Sorry for asking another stupid question, but what does that (having "DiskDude!" in the headers) mean? ^^

While we're on the topic of ROM versions, what do things like "(PRG0)" and "[!]" (from the ROM file name for this movie) mean?

Woot. :) How many frames are there left that need to be shaved off until you get below 5 minutes?

Indeed. Below 5:00 would be amazing, to say the least. ^^

I voted no because there were a few places where he lost a few frames so it's not perfect, and he also missed some coins and made some jumps higher than they had to be. If I find the time I'll probably make a new version myself and make it completely perfect.
If "it can be improved" would be reason enough not to publish, then there probably wouldn't be any published movies at all really. ;) And missing coins doesn't matter - he aims for the fastest time. Everything else is just an added bonus.

Don't publish - it's impressive, but -ziplock-'s 0:36 is even more so.

With the delays edited out, this is a must-publish. :)

Interesting, but a movie that wants to be published shouldn't end in the middle of the game.

There was a submission of a warpless SMB2 run, though it got rejected it wasn't that good, here ya can find it: http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?id=354
Cool, thanks. Now all I need to do is find a ROM for this - I have SMB2 as a cartridge, so I guess it should be OK to download one. ^_~ BTW, Bisqwit - would it be possible to include the MD5 or another hash of the ROM file used with the movies? That would make it much easier to determine whether the ROM you have really is the right one for the movie you want to view...

Hi, I've been wondering - could I persuade anyone to do a warpless SMB2 (USA) movie? ^.^ I'm not good enough by far to do one myself (not even with slomo, rerecording and all that), but I've always liked the game a lot and would love to see one. Just an idea. ^_^
