This one's nine seconds faster, apparently.

Submissions of Hacks are generally judged more harshly because it is not only your movie that's judged, but the hack itself. Still, if a hack makes a good TAS, it'll generally be allowed.

'lo and welcome to tasvideos! I recommend reading through this to give you a good introduction to the subject. Try doing practice runs to get you familiar with the emulator and its tools. We also have various Tricks pages to help you out with specific games.

Quite a mindblowing run, to say the least.

It should be under either Options or Input, then.

Giant black border around the game? Are you running in fullscreen mode? If so, it might be that you don't have "Stretch Image" enabled You can reassign hotkeys such as frameadvance and slowdown under Config > Hotkeys...

Hello and welcome to this site, enjoy your stay! You may want to try out Snes9X which is the preferred emulator for SNES movies on this site (although ZSNES is also allowed), because it's quite a bit more desync-proof. Either way, hai

Aye, thanks for the notes. BH2: The fastest way to get on the last rocket is to get off the second one as early as possible. I hadn't tried to ride the second one up to the goal before, but it seems you can't really round the corner there. When I tried, this happened. Unfortunately, I'm stuck there, but I'll have to look into that some more. BH3: Yeah, I'll have to look into that some more. BH4: People not familiar with the game might not realize the spikes are supposed to hurt you, so I prefer showing off frame-precise jumps instead.

Now, maybe I've missed something, but I don't recall Nach doing anything that is concretely wrong. Sure, you may not like his methods or the way he acts, that may be the case with everyone, but strip him from his judge powers?

I don't think more damage makes for an interesting movie. It just means there can be less tricks involving damage boosts. Does that version have anything else different than more damage?

In my opinion, if it's not there yet, adelikat's N64 Elmo playaround certainly qualifies.

So, I've come to the conclusion the game has a frame-rule for everything. Collecting tings, falling clouds, whatever. So, after lots of laziness, I've gone through Bongo Hills 1. I guess there are some improvements to be found in this, but for the moment, I'm satisfied with it. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1626287602/rayman-taswip3-7-1-10.vbm /edit: Yup, my assumption was correct. After another runthrough, I managed to chop off another 51 frames from Bongo Hills 1. Next up: Bongo Hills 2, which I'm not really looking forward to do. /edit2 completed bongo hills 2 and 3 now. this game even has timers for getting hurt as far as I can see, which is how you're able to get into spiked balls: you just need to get out before the frame rule strikes. so it seems, anyway. /edit3 bongo hills 4 done. very annoying stage, due to frame timers involved I couldn't beat regardless of how many different ways I tried, and the fact that I had to go through it twice. At least I saved 12 frames on my seocnd runthrough. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1185045551/rayman-taswip3-7-6-10.vbm

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Perhaps this might help newer TASers better to understand the Do's and Don'ts of TASing.

This looks pretty intriguing, actually. Can anyone provide an encode?

First off, hello and welcome to tasvideos! Enjoy your stay As for your problem, the only thing I could think of is that you've neglected to set a codec or didn't set it up properly (e.g. using a resolution the codec cannot handle) Perhaps one of the encoders can help you more there.

So, let me get this straight. Some arrogant kid made a bullshit claim he can't even prove and manages to halt your entire TAS that way? I refuse to further comment on this.

Well, having one of those doesn't mean we can't have the other, so, why not go for both?
