ok, i tried out Truncated's idea of saving the howl... paid off (im somehow not surprised... :)) JUST under 13 minutes now. check the link above. oh, and i tried it on Faryan's 2nd Dark Lord persona... only does 2 damage. so not worth it... i suppose im done with this game for now... let me know if theres anything else... its early here (2 AM) and im pretty sure im just gonna be making maps of the game (ive been drawing werewolves a lot lately... :)) bah, off topic. sorry.

because we're not here to produce speed-runs as much as we are to produce entertaining movies that exploit the game and show it in exciting or WOW-type ways. ...thats why i disagree. as far as speed-runs, as in legit WRs, i agree with you... on some level... mainly because i used things like turbo controllers growing up (Track and Field 2).

the boss battles go like this for me: 1 -Giant Head -Giant Head -Slime Man 2 -Iron Head 3 -Fireman 4 -Giant Head -Monster 5 -Giant Head -Faryan Werewolf -Faryan Darklord the first giant head, i am human; nothing applies. for the second one, there is a full health just above me, so killing him quickly AND getting that health is faster than to punch - wait - punch - he jumps, i follow - punch - etc. for Slime Man, i have the health to execute the attack. and it does maximum damage (8) for Ironhead, i was able to skip the first Giant head and thereby have full health for him. once more, it does maximum damage (8) on Fireman, i opt for the Higher (3-1) and then Lower (3-2) route and bypass boss battles to save up enough health for him. however, here is where you notice the howl become less useful. it only does 4 damage but takes 8 from me. so only doing it twice, while extremely useful, becomes less effective. on Giant Head in level 4 (which is what i think you were referring to) i use the attack because when i come to Monster, he only takes 2 damage from it. and finishing off Giant Head with 2 howls and 2 punches is quicker than 10 punches + waiting for him and letting him leap around for me to chase. on level 5, i use it on Giant Head because i figured Faryan would not take damage and it would be wasted. i could possibly be VERY wrong in such an assumption and i will test the result tomorrow by killing Giant Head with punches and then killing Faryan Werewolf with 2 howls and the rest as punches. in short, i use the attack on level 4's miniboss because it does not take significant damage from the boss and it makes a portion of the game faster... as to say, even if i did save the Howls for Monster, it would not make up for the time lost on Giant Head.

Damn the bosses are a snooze... is there really no way to speed them up? -there may be some ways to speed them up... but if im low on life and cant do the howl, im screwed to know how to. Monster would especially be a waste because i can only do 2 damage to him (Monster is the catepillar freak that disappears and then learns to fly). Did you consider not using the "kill everything on screen" on the stone bosses things (the ones like the first enemy you meet), and saving them for the big guys? The stone men are probably faster to kill with the regular weapons than the real bosses. -...if you mean Giant Head, i'll go back through and retry it. i believe on the last level, i can do 4 damage to Faryan's werewolf form with a howl. Giant Head's act the same (take 4 damage and then leap to the other side). the only problem is aligning yourself for the second hit most of the time. and each punch as a werewolf does 2 damage on them. however, it doesn't say for his dark lord persona, but im assuming it would only do 2 damage. The other werewolf stopped blinking in the air, but maybe that's just visual and you can't really hurt him before he lands. -i tried hitting Faryan as a Werewolf in midair. i also tried to hit him sometime before he landed (like a frame or so) but he wouldnt budge. i think his flip works somewhat like mine does. What does the anger icons do? -Anger icons make you into a Super Werewolf (it takes 5). in this form, i believe more damage is done (x2) and you are faster. i remember reading the effects were limited and that you reverted back to a normal werewolf eventually. also, i dont believe i get the choice to "transform" as it happens ASAP when i collect the 5th icon. ...ill try a test tomorrow and see how it works out (though i dont see me being able to keep them for Monster). ...back to bed. :)

YtterbiJum, the special message happens when you beat one of the children of bowser and restore the king to his true form by wearing Frog Suit, Tanooki Suit or Hammer Bros Suit... i dont think theres any others though.

UPDATE: FINISHED! http://nvdata.pilif.ch/Werewolf_take2.zip Faryan had a PAINFUL first form and a tedious wait for the second even MORE painful form... the second part of the battle is weird though... if you stand too close to him, he won't attempt his attack and he's pretty much dead. im still curious about how the damage works though... on both him and Monster. anyhow, ill let this sit for a while. as always, let me know what you think :)

GLITCH found. can fall through certain walls. http://nvdata.pilif.ch/Werewolf_take2.zip SUPA-DUPA NEWER EDIT: "Monster" is dead... and what a pain. the first part of the battle is unnervingly slow... the second part really picks up however (damn collision detection :)). im still a bit confused about him taking damage... anyhow, up next is the final level and Dr. Faryan. *que creepy soundtrack voices* let me know what you think. :)

im still quite new to this game (and was about to delete it) when i saw this. >R.I.P. old link< EDIT3: Tafatt has pointed out some issues with the first boss (well, first Giant Head), so im starting over (and using the L+R, U+D FCEU version). so what you see will be cleaned up (especially level 2).

a VERY long watch, but entertaining none the less. especially loved the swordplay when you had to wait around and once you got extra abilities (dash, jumping, flying). however, the one thing that haunted me althroughout it was Spoony_Bard noting the heart containers. i kept seeing places in the movie that i wondered whether it would have helped more with a heart container or not. i dont want to make a vote without getting confirmation, so can Ego Buff say for sure whether it would have helped to grab heart containers to later take damage or whether it would cancel out? also... the digging... and the missed slashes... on a time-attack... :( but other than those small qualms, solid run.

yes there is. http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbcolor/game/914401.html you may have to copy and paste that because GF does not allow for direct linking. EDIT by feitclub: Better yet, link to the FAQ page instead of the individual file.

ok, heres some stuff i did during class: eggplant pimp eggplant indecisive eggplant evil eggplant angry i dont have a scanner at home, so i have to use the one at my school. they're all B&W and not entirely finalized (concept more or less). also, the Captain N provided different reference from what was in Icarus manual. so i went with Icarus and kept the sleeves on. also, his figure was... i wasnt sure to be honest, so i made him a bit husky. oh, and i REALLY suck with color.

i REALLY liked this one more simply because zangief has massive variety. Ken is a much more familiar character for me, so seeing him (while it was well done) wasnt all that great. also, Zangief's laugh at the end of every battle would have been nice as a movie description (prolly just me :)) however, do what you must. it is a shame not many more fighting games are done here, and its nice to see someone like you who does quite well and doesnt give up easily. kudos, Saturn.
