well, it appears from the algorithm guide that the magic dragon may indeed be able to execute this all by his lonesome
AI SCRIPT:
Fight
{Aero 3,Fight,Specialty}
Fight
{GuardOff,L2 Old,Nothing}
im not sure if that means he reacts to fight or what... i tried investigating... im sure someone will be around soon enough to belittle me and provide complete and accurate information. i cant say the same for trickster/tricker...
AI SCRIPT:
{Fight,L4 Qrter,Nothing}
so it may just be taking different actions inside battle. try different commands and such... defend or change rows, etc. and i figured red dragon should be avoided... i read the bestiary wrong once more.

yes, shields are VERY helpful. but its only at the end, so you could stop by mirage and just grab a few instead. the only shields i grabbed were Aegis in the Mua Forest and the few in ExDeath's Castle (i think there was more than one). i originally got Aegis for Galuf, but that wasnt really needed. Golem... i was thinking of him for Halicarnaso since thats mainly what Hali (and yes, we know each other well enough to use pet names; he calls me "cheating bastard") uses (Kurururu and then a buttload of Physical and eventually some support spells or HOLY). this is out of my hands as far as im concerned; im swamped with work as of late, and cant offer much more aside from moral support. one thing i would like to know... or a few... the ABP in Val castle... what was learned and what was left to learn via boss battles? im thinking Control and Mix (mix is MUCH more important) and then perhaps a gradual learning of Hide; since thats reserved for Twin Tania. armors... if any can effect evade or magic rate success, then those might be advisable. im not sure... i just had a LOT of trouble with Apprehender because of it (bastards All Party attacks were murderously hard to manipulate into NOT getting). ok, enough rambling.

period or comma by conventinal means with the versions here. one is for frame and one is for input. you have to be recording a movie for the frame counter to appear however.

i was wondering myself about how he got such a low time. id think if anything PSX would have slower loading times (i know Chronicles suffered from this problem w/ FF4). i know running is like 8x w/ thief while its only 4x or so in SFC. and i think just pressing the run button adds speed as well (i could be wrong, but im too lazy to play the game and check my references). maybe... MAYBE thats it... but it just doesnt sound right. i thought 3:15 was at his last save point. i thought the strategies i went through and tested would have been better, but maybe they're not. control is used for Magic Dragon only as far as i can remember... i havent played in a while though. and L2 Old is very needed in the run. maybe you could avoid the Val Basement scenario... im really not sure anymore. oops on the L5 Death reference... hahaha. also, i dont know how many rods would be used and such. Archeoavis changes elements so it throws calculations off a bit. you can mentally add up that number though by reading through... i think i make note of it. if someone would pick up where i left off and go through and refine the walkthru (ive got too much going on currently), it might help. i appreciate your working on this goroh, just as a sort of back up testing.

because MTV doesnt really matter? just my input. im surprised TASing wasnt made out to be the great satan once more to start an uproar once more (though i believe everyone's beaten that dead horse enough by now for any argument to be laughable).

just give it time to be published. though, it would be nice if the status could update from NEW to ACCEPTED.

RBI Baseball i hated this game when i was little because everytime it WASNT a ground ball, the CPU would catch it. this resulted in hours of me playing against me to see what we could do to entertain ourselves. anyhow, i tried replicating it with bases loaded, but it wouldnt go the right way. everyone blames the pitcher, but no one wants to help out til its too late.

because they arent as simple as 2d games is why they take so long, id think. also, take into account system requirements. i really dont understand the point of this thread since OoT isnt even submitted, and i dont think some of the other games are to my knowledge (Super Smash is, i know). as far as effort into these games, i personally didnt play a lot of N64 outside of mainstream games, so i dont care much for N64 games and TASing.

you'll have to see the result when you play the movie. and desyncs are what have plagued me from never wanting to do this again.

that HURT. ive never played Half-Life of any variety, but seeing how much you beat the other time by, i had to see it... and OMG... i was between astonishment and a complete headache from all of the quick movement. beautiful abuse of the bugs and what i assume are shortcuts in the game. it makes me wanna go out and try the game. kudos to you and your team.

EDIT: When the game starts all over again after the credits, is the difficulity the same or is it harder?
there's more monsters, and i think at least in the US version, the damage taken is as high as it is in later levels in earlier levels (or am i thinking of CV3?). OH! and theres a MOA head hidden in level 2 (stage 5 or 6, the one with medusa heads and lifts; before the hangars/ceiling spikes)... at least i think there was... maybe it was just a flashing statue? in any case, im happy to see it improved... sorta. i dont see a reason in DLing it until the AVI is made, since its overwelmingly accepted. scoring is never a high priority unless that IS that type of game, so meh to that. glad its higher and all, but its no biggie. congrats Phil. :D

Game Genie
398. A29D-54D8 Characters will do STRANGE things in battle...desperation
attacks, enemy attacks, calling espers, you name it... only
problem is that it is random and the person will keep repeating
the same attack over and over.

ED00-8D68...

nearly all the Lores will execute different characters'
desperation attacks!
NO PAR from GameFAQs though; the second one is only good for Strago's LORE spells BTW; and yet the first one is random.

i was just thinking of summoning Terrato or something (whichever one takes away a percentage of HP). but these'll be more accurate

ok, i was thinking about those abilities i stop to learn in world 2 at Val basement. what if everyone just picked one and learned it? someone will have to be a blue mage and all, but it cuts down on time not to have ALL master it. so who should master what? 45 ABP - Mix 25 ABP - Hide 60 ABP - Control that could range anywhere from 8-16 battles depending, but is much better than 17-32 that would need be for each. here are the stats from the JOB FAQ over at GameFAQs:

Krile 25 28 24 27
Faris 27 27 26 26
points of concern: -tree segments (4 doom potions and only 1 mixer? ouch...) -gargoyles (if not killed closely together, one revives the other) im just thinking out loud mostly.

Yes, actually theres one before everyone steps on a switch and one right at the start of the first tier battle (w/full health unfortunately). one thing, this was made w/ ROM V1.1, i dont know how much that will matter, but just as a note. oh, and these were just leftover after i cleaned out my SNES folder of savestates. BTW: a WHOLE lotta cheatin goin on in that save state. used the code that gives just gives stuff like Genji Equipment and Paladin Shields after battle.

i CAN. i played this game often when i had a Sega CDX. used the cheats to get invincibility and everything. its NOT a bad rom dump.

dunno, check the algorithm FAQ; i checked battle timing, and it mentioned nothing there. i honestly dont know. however, if they all count as one, then remember only one can be used per character per battle.

 2.5 Desperation Attacks
*************************

If you attack while the character's current HP < their max HP / 8, then there
is a 1 in 16 chance of doing a desperation attack instead of a normal attack.

Gau and Umaro do not have desperation attacks.

If the character has any of the following statuses, then they will never do
a desperation attack: Muddle, Image, Clear, Zombie

Characters will never use their desperation attack more than once each combat.

While the Battle Time Counter (See section 2.8 Battle Timing) is less than
768, characters won't use their desperation attacks. (i.e. Characters will
never use Desperation Attacks during the first 25.6 seconds of combat)

All Desperation attacks are unblockable (see step 3 in hit determination)

All Desperation attacks are magical attacks, that ignore defense (skip steps
5, 6b, 6c, 6d, 6e, 6f, and 7 in damage calculation.)

Sabre Soul and Star Prism are instant death attacks, rather than damage-dealing
attacks like the others. Shadow Fang will also inflict seizure status.

Here is every character's desperation attack:

Char Attack Power
Locke Mirager 139
Terra Riot Blade 142
Celes Spin Edge 143
Edgar Royal Shock 143
Sabin Tiger Break 140
Cyan Back Blade 140
Mog Moogle Rush 150
Strago Sabre Soul 0
Relm Star Prism 0
Shadow Shadow Fang 140
Setzer Red Card 147
Gogo X-Meteo 146
so it'd take at least 25 seconds within each battle for them to be able to pull one off.

well, it is 2006; maybe he was referring to before the year 2000 as his childhood, or perhaps even further back (i dont know how old the Hack is).

Golem i can see using; not Odin. the only reason for him was TwinTania, who easily fell to Break and the Black Mages (not to beconfused with Sly and the Family Stone). Golem would be useful for the wait time to use a Blue Mage Spell (Apprehender, Halicarnaso) Chicken Knife is a HELL NO. its useless. Save points are debatable. if Apocalypse is to be beaten, then i can see using at least one. but theres still some delay walking through a few of the Save Points (little, but still noticible in Real Time). you always seem to have another option aside from a Save Point though... other ways of healing. also, the Sol Cannon is better dealt with via Blue Mages w/Thunder Rods (took 8 turns; 9 if you count L5 Death, which i dont even think you need considering Thunder Damage). Ninjas took 13 turns (4 ROUNDS!). ill add that in here in a bit.
