It's disappointing that a full game no A presses challenge is impossible. (Is the sticking point still the pipe in BitDW?)
Nothing is stopping people from competing for the minimum number of A presses with the fastest time (where a lower number of A presses wins and time is used as a tie breaker). In fact, I thought I saw a rankings like that somewhere.

I realize this belongs in off-topic, but I'm not creating a topic just to link to a different thread: http://sm64.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1064 RIP, Dopeboy.

Is there some secret sub 5 TAS in the making, that noone is allowed to know about until it is submitted, so you can blow all our heads completely away? Yeah, that has to be the reason why nobody is answering my question, I'm sure.
Or maybe those working on it are too lazy to post?
Or maybe...no one is working on it. <_<

Would someone be able to make an AV Hack version of 3.0-754? It's what I used to start Wario World and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, so I'll have a use for it soon.

Similar to how in Mario 64, underwater swimming changes camera angles to show as little of the surrounding scenery as possible, to maximize speed.
That is due to in-game lag. For example, in SM64, when you have the timer activated, it lags with the game. It doesn't stay accurate and simply exclude lag. With this, it would act the same way I assume (not positive). In other words, I don't see how in-game lag could affect the games timer in the way you suggested...which is what's so confusing about it in the first place.

Pre-mature run of 1-2 (about a month old): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAsqQwWr4qQ Read the description for what I mean by "pre-mature."

Do you reckon it's possible to do so earlier? The clip you showed at 2 crystals up, maybe it's possible earlier, or was this just a demonstration?
Afaik, you need the amount of crystals the statue requests so the door will move. Notice in the clip the third crystal is actually activating as I go through the door. I couldn't get it to work with less so I don't think it's possible, but maybe I'm missing something. Regardless, it's a cool timesaver and definitely adds even more entertainment value to the run. ^^

Any luck with that glitch, Kriole? I think it would be helpful if you could remember how many crystals the statue was "asking" for (that's why I asked what level, if you didn't know). On another note, I am finished with the 1-2 boss and am now moving onto DinoMighty. I'll post a WIP after entering 2-1 so I can get some feedback. Edit: Lol, right after posting this, I went and tested with all the crystals and managed to drop through. Should save some time in every level! Thanks a ton, Kriole!! I got it to save over 3 seconds in level 1 already. ^_^ Edit 2: Here's a short video showing how seamless it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?ippez1so2hh0lvw

Since people can decide to vote no due to game choice, I'm voting yes because of it. I found this TAS entertaining simply for the fact that DKR is a game I grew up with and still play with friends. It wasn't the most entertaining TAS from a "what visually happens" standpoint (as if half the movies on here are, lol...even Super Mario Bros. isn't immune), but I also feel that the attraction of the run to the public that views TASes (not TASVideos) is immense for Blockbuster games AND [short/3D] runs such as this. So why not spread the TASing love for other people to see and enjoy? Or is that not the goal of publishing TASes anymore? Whether you specifically liked the run or not, I can't see a reason not to publish it considering people would obviously watch this and appreciate it if it was published. Thanks for the run, Swordless!!

Voting no on this movie in hopes that a more optimized one is submitted. Good luck, Soig.

Anyways, I recall managing to glitch through a boss statue, by having two red crystals be on the statue and then buttstomp between them. It only really happened once and I don't know if it requires all crystals or just two, but this should definitely be worth looking into.
I think that exceeds "worth looking into"! XD That theoretically means that an any% would be getting 1 crystal in each level while abusing my super jump find to beat it as quick as possible. Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely see what I can find! Edit: Do you recall what level it happened in?

Here's a brand new TAS of 1-1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irQpKA4Apb8 It uses a new trick I found that lets you jump over...well, basically anything. Edit: 60 FPS version for those that care (make sure to click "2.0x" on the player): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fx2LhO7YrHQ&html5=True

Anyway, news I guess, I broke this hack after about 30 mins of playing by finding a way to skip from the 2nd Bowser level to the 3rd one. I may make a 0 Star run at some point, but I doubt it will be submitted here for obvious reasons.
