Sum 41. :P As for the lag "luck," it was just enemy placement from the pipe to the cave I think. I suppose there was less on screen or something.

What I mean is that the existence of money prevents resources from being distributed equally, because it's not profitable or because you can't take money from somewhere else, that's why politicians can't solve those major problems in society, even though they could be solved technically.
I'm willing to bet a lack of currency would cause more problems than it would solve, lol.

You seriously think that vaccines are useless because you haven't had any major sickness?
When did I say that? Did you even read what I said, rofl:

I said "etc." as in everything about your scenario combined not going to ever happen. Not one specific part out of it. I do think I worded that badly though.

Well, I have to thank for confirming my claim in practice. The human brain works in astonishingly stupid ways oftentimes.
I'd rather be considered stupid for not getting a vaccine that I don't feel I need than considered an asshole like yourself just because you disagree with someone. And so begins another case of Warp taking things out of context and attacking people so he can boost his e-dick. I'll leave before it gets ugly. Peace.

I think you're looking at it the wrong way in this case. "They prefer taking the 1% chance of dying than the 0.1% chance of getting the disease." <--- No. They prefer risking that they won't get said flu because the diseases from the vaccines are far worse than the flu itself (there's no stupid ultimatum as you made it sound like: die if you don't get the vaccination). I would know the thought-process since I refuse to take flu shots and other vaccines as well. I just personally feel like I'm not at risk for certain things that common vaccines cover. It has nothing to do with what you said here: "It doesn't matter how much you explain the math to them. It won't help." I would argue that my thinking is more logical than blindly receiving a vaccine that could have who-knows-what chemicals and compounds in it. To each his own.

Would someone with more memory searching knowledge be willing to find Wario's speed? Both itsPersonnal and I have tried multiple times, but with no success (we've found ones in other games though...).

Problems with the schools? Increase funding! Too many people homeless? More government subsidized housing! Too many drug addicts? More cops and more government sponsored treatment facilities! And what would be, in your opinion, a better solution to those problems that a government can implement?

He's told me you need EFB Copies set to RAM rather than texture for SMS to sync.

For those that don't know, Nahoc, MKDasher, and I are posting basically every update about the 120 Stars run on our Twitters and this Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/SM64TAS We don't really want to clog up the thread on here but we also know some people want to follow the final stages of the run.

Anyways, I don't understand some of this video, unless you cut the clips. You had time saved and the new TAS clearly made it in the pipe to bowser at the same time, but they both exited it the same time. Did you cut the video there or is something else going on?
It's a section by section comparison. Basically [almost] every time the screen goes black, the video on the left is cut and stalled until the original run reaches that same point.

Nah that's definitely dubstep...maybe mixed with electro :P.
It's Electro. Dubstep is 140 bpm and has entirely different drum patterns. Anyway, I got the idea to make this video a couple weeks ago: [HD] "0 Stars" TAS - World Record vs. Original - Section by Section Comparison Hope everyone likes it!

So now that emulation of this game is fixed, myself, mapler, and itsPersonnal are gonna go ahead and start this project. I just tested today whether memory cards are faster or not and if soft resetting after levels is a possibility. For the first, after spending a few minutes looking at our options, it appears using a memory card and simply not saving is the best choice. As for soft resetting, it is much slower because it requires saving and going all the way back to power on. Not sure if too many games are like SA2:B where it saves the memory in some kind of cache even without memory cards AND it resets to the title screen. Oh well. It still looks like a great game to TAS and we're all looking forward to starting. Edit: Found this video that shows you can simply pause and exit levels after the final hit of a boss. Awesome! ^_^

Totally nothing to do on the run "120 stars" but one TAS "glitchfest" of this game would be very interesting.
Look up "random route tas" on YouTube. I'm currently making one myself, actually.
I find full of TAS "random route 0 star" by Bobmario511 or Olaus009 but I do not find yours. Would you have the link please?
I was saying to look at the ones already on YouTube (more than those 2 people have made them) and that mine is currently being worked on. There is nowhere to see it at the moment. Edit: Instead of double posting, I'll just say this here. On this movie page, I think it's weird to link to the 120 and 16, but not 70 Stars BLJless run. Thoughts?

Anyway, for people wondering how many improvements have they been found, it's not even that much. There are like 3 major improvements at the moment, and the biggest so far is the one displayed above (HMC 100 coins), the other 2 are not even more than 1 second, one of them is due to high luck manipulation, and the other is because it was an early star.
Makes me wonder how much people would work on v2 (if v1 is ever completed).
Probably us again :P

Why do you people continue to respond to that troll? I don't understand how many times you need it proven to you that he isn't someone to be taken seriously. I still don't know how he's not banned yet. He knows full and well what you stated, Ilari. All he wants is to get to the team that's putting the run together because he can't be a part of it.

there are multiple known improvements that haven’t been implemented, restarting the run continuously was the Japs’ idea and we’ve seen where that ends up to, Nahoc/David/Jeremia just want to get a 120 run done I’d imagine the run could be finished somewhere within February next year…
Is there a list of these known improvements somewhere so that future TASer's wouldn't forget/miss them if a v2 of this run were to ever be started?
I'm sure we'll be listing them in the submission text.

Would it be possible to insert a blank frame into the .dtm? I understand that .dtm files suck when it comes to hex editing though.

Like I said, I managed to fix that desync and the following ones up to after Egg Hornet through hex editing, but the save screen messes up the frame counter and it won't sync any further even when the input is the same.
Hex editing .dtm's isn't that hard. It simply won't work. The best possibility from here on out that COULD happen is the avi thing I mentioned.

Did he not ever check if it synced? Using the desync-fixes branch for gc tases shouldn't really be a problem.
For THC98 himself, his "final" .dtm syncs up to getting the Ancient Light (right before Red Mountain). For some reason when he copies his User folder and then tries playing it back it desyncs at Emerald Coast (level 1 after Chaos 0)...which is weird because it's the same desync that happens when other people try to play it back (myself and itsPersonnal). Like I said, I managed to fix that desync and the following ones up to after Egg Hornet through hex editing, but the save screen messes up the frame counter and it won't sync any further even when the input is the same. Provided I can fix the Ancient Light/Red Mountain desyncs for THC's .dtm, he can avi record that part and the next couple sky levels (Chase/Deck). He already recorded up to that point, and luckily, he has a savestate for the Chaos 6 fight that he can load in read-only and it'll play back the rest of the movie properly. The goal from this point is to get a proper avi recording to somewhat salvage the run and not just let it be wasted. Any hope of the .dtm itself working is basically dead
