mike89: The first single fire blast is significantly longer than if you make a chain of them. After the 3rd or 4th in a row (haven't played/TASed in awhile), they start to last the same length. This is actually a good thing as it gives you more mobility for changing height, etc. Hopefully that explains what you were asking. Also, I don't recall how many frames you need to wait before it "refreshes" to the longest single fire. But it has nothing to do with the amount of times you press it; it only has to do with time.

Voting "meh" because I do think it's a good TAS, but it's really redundant.. Somewhat pointless IMO.

I agree. This is one of the, if not the most frame-whored game in TAS existence, so there really shouldn't be any speed/entertainment tradeoffs in the TAS.
Yes, that's why it took 2 years for a new run to come out; not to mention, this run includes the same 2 authors as the previous run.

He ended the fight with a jump kick into the star; we did a jump dive. Ours takes 1 frame longer, but it doesn't look as cool imo. It's an easy fix of just activating the text closer to the star.

One was saved in BitFS on the fight entry, the second was on the entry to the attic (2nd keydoor).

Lol, I forgot I had uploaded it there. It was 3 days ago and it got stuck processing. I guess they like SM64 TASes since it's the third time an upload on my account has gotten featured..

Google Chrome translates Nicovideo automatically anyway. With all of the tools you can use to browse the site, there shouldn't be any problems; especially if it is the ONLY available place to watch the videos. If you aren't willing to put in the work to open a specific browser (and maybe sign up, even though MUGG has been posting videos where you DON'T have to) and at least try, then maybe you should reconsider complaining about nothing.

Voting yes because of how Daffy's feet move when he jumps. Also, I'm getting a Malware warning about something being hosted on fileden.com whenever I visit this page.

Yes it would. You need to open the cannon for the 100 Coin star + Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Amazing HD encode by Aktan complemented by a hacked display showing Mario's speed, and a high resolution texture pack.

Make an account and it works just fine. =P I recommend Google Chrome btw because it has a built in translator.

I tried "TASing" this game by simply saving an input file, but when you open it, it doesnt play back. im not sure if any wii games get their input files saved, but i tested melee (same rev ofc), and it worked just fine. edit: oh and sonic 4 runs nearly perfect (and my computer isnt that great)

You set the hotkey for play/pause, then you turn frame stepping (NOT frame skipping) on and use the hotkey to FA.

People don't realize that essentially, a 16 star run would be the same. I understand why that is thought because people on this site don't necessarily follow SM64 TASing. But my point is, most of the run would be Mario flying around at high speeds and then jumping out of levels and pressing "Continue, Don't Save." You can try and convince yourself that more stars would be more entertaining, but I can guarantee you that if you don't like this run, you won't like a 16 star run either. A 120 star run MIGHT be a different story since not every star involves hyperspeed, but when given the choice to collect 16 specific stars, it's obviously going to be the 16 fastest (which would in-turn involve hyperspeed).
