I clearly see an overlay ad on every one of the parts you uploaded, at the beginning of every upload from this TAS. Edit:

YouTubey: Link to video
Terrible, terrible taste taking a video you had NO involvement in and reuploading it with advertisements. And this isn't the first one obviously.

That isn't how it works. It's based on the bitrate, which can't be over 600 kbps, including audio. So you're looking at 512 kbps video at a "optimal" widescreen resolution of 640 x 360. There is a memory limit of 100 MB, but no one should have that issue considering the joke of a bitrate for non-premiums.

My only challenge is when direct links to nicovideos are posted I don't have a way to view them and I hate missing out.
First, thanks for the compliments. Second, that is a completely valid complaint that doesn't apply to YouTube links (not directed at you, Weatherton), and had it been the case that my Nico link was going to be permanent, I would have edited my post after people told me about the account issue that I was unaware of. But as I also said, that was a temporary link I was going to replace with an HD 60 FPS YouTube link in a matter of hours. thatguy: I know it's doable within the games physics, I only attempted it from a speed running perspective. I was never interested in testing an obscene infinite flutter, lol.

I have one more thing. "Mario 64 TAS" then manager for the page is you and it's quite obvious and visible because it's all your videos. So I have one thing to ask about that. When are you going to start showing other people's TASes about SM64 rather than jerrubbing yourself off. What was the one big thing (for something so small) that was posted on both Nico Video and YouTube and was mentioned on the SM64 thread but never on that facebook page? tick, tock, tick, tock, tic- 0 star. Some COMMUNITY page that is. (Note: I'm on more about the majority > minority the majority you and the minority is every other Mario TASer (because you do mention them every blue moon)) Now that I've told you off for being a person who cannot show Community videos by other people and how to do video function I like to quote you. ahem

I have reasons for your accusations: 1. "I don't post other's videos." I do, as you said yourself. And I would post others but there are none to post. There is only non-TAS stuff and if you really think I'm going to be posting runs that are lazy and suboptimal, you're on something. If people like SilentSlayers, Nahoc, MKDasher, and others want to start uploading quality content again, like freeruns, etc., I'd be happy to post it. I don't promote garbage and I have high standards. It's my page, and you don't have to follow it. Not that any of this post so far is relevant to what happened in this thread 2. Until the last month and a half, Snark and I had serious problems with each other. Like I'm going to show off his work when he won't even give us an .m64 to prove it (and no, that's not why we didn't like each other). As for the relevant part about linking,

I'm not defending myself any further. I said what I wanted to say about my effort and hoping it gets seen. As Scepheo said, you're the one with the problem, not me. I didn't do anything against the rules. And let's be honest here, you're just mad because of my blunt wording to yourself and Masterjun.

My God, you're egotistical! I wouldn't give a damn about any video I'm unable to watch because I don't feel like jumping through language barrier hoops. If you're doing this for anything other than your minor popularity and overinflated ego then you actually would care about peoples' convenience. You obviously care enough to make encodes in the first place, but that's only because people can't "rate and comment" a movie file.
Lol, people act like it's a crime to want interaction and feedback on something I've poured hours and days of my life into. I had to optimize up to that boss fight literally 5 times over 3 - 4 days due to whomp manipulation from the cutscene (USTA can confirm this), and took forever to make that boss fight look as cool as it did (going off what others have said). Then I had to travel to my parents so I could hook my CPU up to a 1080p monitor to dump a very slow encode so people could appreciate it in full quality. Excuse me for thinking I deserve a thumbs up to show that people like what I do so I have reason to keep doing it. Please. Just shut your mouth, rofl.

I think that the video function looks neat :D (and also makes it more likely for me to actually watch it).
Good for you! To be honest, I'm not concerned about your convenience. I want people to be on my video's page, not a little box where they can't (or find it difficult to) rate or comment. If you can't take the time to click a link, you weren't interested enough and don't need to watch.

You kinda are, because you don't use it for Youtube videos.
And that's weird, I'm pretty sure Spikestuff mentioned Nicovideo modules because of people's accounts, not YouTube. So...I replied as such. I'm completely aware I don't do it for YouTube links.

I really wished you used the video thing especially for nico ones (because some people don't have an account, I'm not one of them). The nico video using the video function.
First of all, that is my 2nd Nico upload of all time. I'm not a repeat a offender of what you're saying. Secondly, I don't want people to watch it on Nico, I was simply being nice and posting in this thread before my YouTube link in awhile for the fact that it exists. I can just not post stuff instead if that would make the users here happy? First it was posting SM64 multiplayer in the SM64 thread, god forbid, now this lol. Worry about your own content...

I wasn't even going to keep the Nico link in this thread, but now that you've whined and quoted it, guess it can stay!

Will be uploading this in HD when I wake up: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm24911576 Nico got the exclusive for once, hahaha. Return of King Whomp. beats non-TAS by almost 8 seconds. And I tried to be as entertaining in the boss fight as possible! ^__ Edit: 1080p-60FPS is *amazing* for this game, I might add.

How do you find a frame's offset in a Wii .dtm? If I recall, GC is frame# ---> hex*8+1024
Write a program to parse the file. The length of the data for each frame is variable.
For a short movie, is there a ballpark formula? I can still sort of read input if I get into the general area of the dtm in HxD. I did it previously with an SMG2 TAS but I can't remember how I got to it, lol.

BIG ABC update today, thanks to two new glitches discovered in the SM64 community: -the Stair Dance Clip, which lets you ascend by grabbing a star in mid air -If you dive recover & land while ascending, you preserve the ascending momentum so long as you do nothing but punch/stand still, and when you next enter a falling state you resume the ascending momentum.
Neither of these tricks are new. Just never applied to ABC. Star dance could be anyone's find, but the Y speed glitch was found by Eru in 2010. And it also works in a downward way, not just "ascending" as you wrote.

Is there an ETA on this being finished and merged? I'd love to start the SMG1 any% with 2P enabled on a non-bootleg revision that includes this and a working AVSync.

My view is of Weatherton's. This thread is dead due to lack of content (mine and pannenkoek's?), and people that are interested in SM64 check this thread more than the hacks one. Those 2P runs apply much more to the SM64 fanbase that want to compare it to 1P, which is inevitable because ALMOST nothing else is changed. I have already gone over the dilemma in my head before your posting, and after weighing the reasons, this spot makes more sense. If the goal is for interested people to read the post, more will find it here.

Though this is a hack, it is still in the untouched main game. That other thread, IMO, is designed for more of what it sounds like, ie Star Road/SM74/etc.

Well, even though I couldn't pull off my above idea, I still subbed 2:20 on that star. Non-TAS WR is 2:38. Here's the video in HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COhj49V4u2w

Sort of, but it's much more speed running based than any Warioware I've played. Loads of fun for "tiny optimizations."
