Input display or TAS input? Both are broken afaik. I made this run with a controller in frame advance (over the course of 3 days). The input display doesn't show nunchuck input (which is what it needs to do to be useful) and the TAS input isn't quite finished, as it doesn't have a nunchuck input yet, among other problems. Soon hopefully. I still feel this run is fairly optimized for the strat.

How can I get an accurate dump on the newest rev you posted? The audio follows the recording FPS rather than the game FPS in my testing (SMG2). The video dump might be kind of weird but I think I'm just not used to seeing this game in 60 fps. In the meantime, I'll ignore it until the audio is fixed and see if that helps my speed-perception. :P

What's going to happen is that Sm64 tasers will use mupen deliberately to get sub 5, then market it as "Sm64 beaten in less than 5 minutes!" knowing this is not actually true. It is misleading, will get lots of extra youtube views, but isn't doing the community any favors.
Maybe we should just switch to VC so no lag is present whatsoever!! Then we can claim sub-5 legitimately when it happens, right?! Since it's an OFFICIAL emu :)
i just want to cause controversy like usual [so the sm64 thread passes oot in pages!!], please ignore me

I uploaded a video that went viral that I filmed at an NBA game
It was on the front page of Reddit today, has gotten almost 600,000 views on WorldStarHipHop, and I licensed it to a viral video company. Plus the Kings are going to use it this week vs. the Timberwolves. Insanity!
It may or may not be on Good Morning America tomorrow as well...we'll find out how that goes! XD
edit: 3/1 - 9:42 pm 960k views ;)

Wow, looking great! Keep it up, this is such a great game.
Thanks! Yes, it has almost the appeal of the original itself, IMHO. Anyway, here's another TAS:

Understandable, i'm currently redoing a decent amount of the run now, which won't collect a single unnecessary rupee, woo!
But you should try Cuccos yourself and maybe you will see why a run with Cuccos will never be done again unless it has to collect those rupees.
I'm very aware of what TASing a seemingly impossible and/or pointless improvement feels like. Trust me. ;) Good to hear you're working on optimizing! I look forward to voting yes when the time comes.

I love the category and would normally be in full support of this being published as a Moon, but the fact that it contains extraneous rupee collection because a different run's input was used when it was still considered a test makes me hesitate.
The extra rupees really aren't as big of a deal as everyone is making out it adds a grand total of around 39 frames [...] onto the movie all of the ones in the river would be collected anyway, hardly worth redoing the whole Cucco section
I can't bring my inner-TASer to vote yes for this reason alone. Disregarding any other voting criteria, I've always felt runs that were lazy because "X was too much work" don't have a place on this site. If the author had that attitude about one part, how do I know the integrity of optimization in other areas isn't equal? That and the knowledge that it's simply "garbage" input that takes time in a run aiming for quasi-perfect speed, it just looks and feels messy. Of course there are exceptions to known improvements (like the 120 Stars run had/has), but this situation, in my opinion, isn't exception-worthy. Voted "meh" in favor of improvement. Thanks for the entertaining run though!
