You guys TAS so weirdly. o_O 2.0.3's TASEdit is superior. ;D EDIT: I always thought your name was "A Deli Kat". My life has been changed. For today.

That was pretty good. A few things to be nitpicky about are some spots where jumping at certain times or in certain ways could shave off a few frames. Also luck manipulation against Heatman would speed up the fight by a lot. Overall though, that's not bad. =D

Yay useless stuff! Anywhere there's a ladder attached to the ground (such as at the start of Ring Man's level), if you make a Balloon and climb the ladder and let go, you can jump off and land on the Balloon super quickly. The thing is though, you can push the Balloon downward. If you use rapid fire jumping, you can't jump and land on it fast enough, as the Balloon with either rise faster than it goes downward, or you don't get enough height for enough force to push it down, but with a ladder you can. So now you know how to pop Balloons by pushing them downward into the ground. o/

I can help with glitch hunting I 'spose, but I've only found one useful trick so far (Rain Flush vs Wily 2 Boss).

What do you mean your first time? All you did was steal someone else's work.

I wasn't expecting much, but this really surprised me. Obviously the problem is that it isn't complete and ends a bit abruptly, but otherwise, this is a quality run. Very entertaining, but that's not a label to use over not knowing how to TAS effectively, because you did everything quickly aside from time sacrifices for entertainment. I wouldn't go around expecting this to get published or anything, but full game, entertaining runs are rare so I really enjoyed watching this. A few things I want to point out though: Can the clock bosses not be hit during their alarm attack? The 2-4 fight against Meta-Knight looked a bit sloppy and was the only really subpar part of the run. The mega-bounce in 4-4 was neat. These are the kinds of things I like in entertaining runs, since you can't normally see them in the speedy TASes. The 4-6 UFO switch looked excellent and not slow at all. This was a really nice treat. I really look forward to seeing what you come up with down the road. Are you planning to do any TASes with the purpose of finishing as quick as possible, or do you think you'll only be doing entertaining runs? Regardless, I'd love to see more. 9/10

To be honest, Mugg's is at a much more publishable level. Three main things with Zene's: 1) Not entertaining at all and just boring. Mugg's uses all he can to be entertaining. 2) Getting the fireworks is a terrible idea. 3) Not jumping from 0 speed is slower (for an example, see exiting the pipe in 1-1). I'm going to have to go with Mugg's.

Does TASEdit work like in 2.0.3, because it would be spectacular if I only needed one version of FCEUX. Good stuff on the new version though. =D

I figured it was a joke, but I find it both amusing and pleasant how many lurkers and new people the site got in the last couple days, and even Canar in this thread. Submissions definitely have been a little low this year, but there have been a ton joke videos this April at least. I think that by the end of the year though, there will be a lot of gems. Super Mario 64, Goldeneye, possibly Ocarina, the Mega Man games (1-6 excluding 2 I think), and maybe some other surprises. Though the quantity would be low, there are a lot of big game TASes coming along. I personally just can't have fun with perfectly optimizing everything (with the exception of my short TAS), but I hope the community has liked my entertaining TASes and the use of TAS to discover new glitches. I've just been limited to NES games because I like TASing based on input, but I stumbled upon TASEDIT, and I may look into other consoles now. I do agree you guys don't get enough credit, and this is easily one of my favorite communities, though I haven't been casually involved much (say IRC) and the site does generate a ton of entertainment. Artistic works of video games with a touch of some computer science is an amazing combination of a concept, and TASVideos has put it together really well. I don't really intend to have any other TASes published, unless an exception swings by me, but I hope my contributions through my findings and such accepted by the community. You guys are awesome.

How to skip the whales in Dive Man's stage. I don't think this will be viable since Bright Stopper is used throughout the level, but nonetheless. EDIT: Apparently this is already known.

It only works on him because he's the only boss that takes damage from Rain Flush and the fights against the Robot Masters don't work because they take too long to fall onto the ground. If it were the case or there is a way where they can get hit Rain Flush would be excellent to lead with against Drill Man (so then he takes only 9 Dive and not 10), Bright Man (and then he'd take only 8 Pharaoh Shots and not 10), Pharaoh Man (so he'd only take 9 Pharaoh Shots and not 10) and possibly Skull Man (shield breaking). However that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm going to look into seeing if it's possible to use Rain Flush to cause a long enough delay so that it could work, but it looks slim. Anyway, against the Wily Boss 2, it still takes the same number of Ring Boomerangs, but switching to Rain Flush, using it during the intro of the fight (this part shouldn't cost many frames, since you wait anyway), and switching to Ring Boomerang seems like it may be faster. It takes about 250 frames for the boss HP start-up, but switching to a weapon and going out takes about 80 frames each. I'm pretty sure "Rain Skipping" is quicker. Would you mind testing it to give an answer out of curiosity? I'm going to take a stab at it and say it saves about 50 frames.

So it seems I was wrong when I said that making Pharaoh Man entertaining would be hard to do... Introducing Bright Locking!
