I don't know much about Super Mario World glitches, but some of them may require frame by frame accuracy. You may have to count frames until you have that frame that you hit it. It can be very tedious... who knew TASing would take time.

If you want to continue doing the sm64 competing we host a contest at sm64.org but I think it would be really cool to see these for some 2d games, Say start here pick up this get here. See who completes it the fastest, that would be cool.

Well the emulator comes with 3 video plugins when you get it. And Pj64 and those other ones are not really great for TASing because they don't have rerecording. If you want to know more about TASing and why rerecording is required check out the Articles, Game Resources, and Emulator pages on the front page. There are thoughts about what video plugins are better but some people like more than others. The one I like is, glN64 v0.4.1 if that is not the problem make sure you are using Mupen64 0.5 Its more stable. (Dload is in the emulator section.) You may also find that you will like the TASimputplugin0.6 also found on that page. It will help you tas and it makes it loads easier to TAS with the 3d game. Have fun and come back if you have more questions. For questions about Mario 64 look into the M64 game section and look for the forum for Super Mario 64, ask a question on how to do a trick if you need help.

I stumbled across this a few days ago and am surprised it hasn't gotten more views: Mario 64 1-star completion, non-TAS (7'08"5 in SDA Timing): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap3xorCvU3o Pretty sick for non-TAS
But why post this on a TAS forum? We could all have seen it on SDA if we wanted to.

You guys should team up to keep the momentum going. I really don't want to see this game be neglected again. This has to be the game with the most potential without a run on the site.
^This. Please do I would love to see this game TASed

TAS Input plugin, you'll find it in the N64 Emulators section. Grunz seemed to have misunterstood you and recommended a graphic plugin
Have it. Thats what I use for my sm64 runs.

oh, totally overread "input plugin" As the input plugin has no effect on the ability of synching a TAS, I just assumed he was refering to the video plugin. most important things when trying to synch a TAS are the video plugin, RSP plugin and audio plugin. sometimes the emulator version is also important, but as I said already, not being able to synch mukki's TAS doesn't mean you are using the wrong emulator or something. synching mukki's TAS is often really random ;)
Thanks for the help MrGrunz.

That was epic. The punching was crazy. This video really shows the definition of TAS and should be published.

How long is the average speedrun? Depends on the game, and how you going to speedrun that game. Why do you speed run? Give me something to do.

4-10 weeks from a complete restart? That's absolutely nuts, isn't it?
