I'm really terrible with emulator so I can't figure out how to watch it, so can somebody help me out?
After you lay the final hit on Mr. Dark, input stops before the victory dance. To actually reach the credits though (after which the game resets) you have to press A to go through a series of pictures. I think TASVideos standards require you to actually reach the credits to count as completion.
Also, I didn't see any areas where death abuse could be useful (other than maybe saving a couple seconds on a couple of cages) except, of course, for skipping Mr. Sax. Apparently you don't actually have to finish his level as long as you get all the cages, which is interesting.
Are you sure for Mr.Dark? I tried to do a bit input before it just run the start menu. Without pressing input the credits appears

It is. All you have to do is get all the cages in the stage before Mr sax, then kill your self, then go back to the map. It will still count all the cages, so you can still get to the last level.
First of all, I just want to say that I haven't actually seen this run (I can't figure out how) but a few things about it scare me. For one thing, you didn't mention using any death abuse, which can save a lot of time in this game.
