Nice graphic changes, rom hack might be fun to play but on tas might not be good choice, seem so much of piranha plant and bouncing off flying koopa over the gaps for 11 minutes. Also why go thru last level twice for fire flower? Is there power ups in previous level?

So I'm finally recovering from computer issue (damn, HDD died) I'm not really sure what should I do, make run with Game Over glitch or without, or both. They both are somewhat different route. I'm thinking of doing it without game over, because it's uninteresting to see character die over and over to "Game Over" then start game straight to "You won the game" screen. But Game over method is faster. Please cast vote http://strawpoll.me/4179627 * GO! *thanks Spikestuff

The inputs looks optimized for me, but the game... Only 4 levels? No other interesting changes in the hack.
World 1-1, go over ceiling entire level World 1-2, go over ceiling entire level World 1-3, too simple level World 1-4, better, but half of level jumping over ceiling / walls - again.
All together, that's just uninteresting to watch. Sorry, voted NO for poor choice of a rom hack. Good effort. Perhaps go for official games that hasn't been done, or obsoleting old published runs.

Is it possible to write an external .txt file with lua in VBA?
I did made a fun lua script that allowed me to create infinite custom levels for GB Hyper Lode Runner by exporting level datas to .txt and importing them as well. But it was a mess and I don't have it anymore on this PC. Sorry no sample, take a look at "file:" and "io." in lua reference manual.

Look like bootleg game, multiple asset stolen from other games. However, it's short and ending made me laugh. "Donkey Kong came" I don't know what to put, meh or no.. going with meh.

Beginning areas was boring to watch, the way level design and that you didn't have flying dash ability, and that text box comes up so often. But later levels gotten more interesting to watch, less text boxes and flying dash. Boss battles was pretty entertaining to watch. 26 minutes not too long, pretty acceptable for this mixture for half boring, and half entertaining. Yes vote, gets a place in vault tier minimum.

I'm a little surprised my Spelunker 2 run is in there. I knew that it would get some viewers in Japan, but not that much.

I used TinyPNG to see which can be compressed and most of them saves 0-3% which I skipped. It saved about 1.05 KB on that image (reduces 31%).

Voted No, I can't watch all 5 hours of boring same repetitive flapping. It's just April fool submission too, right?

How does menu scrolling work in this game? Since you’re going down so much if it’s not perfect there could be a big improvement there. Are you doing Down, nothing, Down etc.? I tried looking at the input file but couldn’t tell. Did you try holding Down or doing Down, Down+Right, Down etc.? Diagonals work in some games as new Down input.
I double check on it.. On menu (via X), it won't go diagonal. On dialog glitch, I can't go with that way, down, then next frame down+right, doesn't move cursor to next line this way.

It seems there is still some text to go through after the credits roll.
I was wondering about that too, but Gunty's run ended movie before "The End" so i figured I can end the same way.

Hey you're right, submission screen says that it can be omitted. Say what Gunty's run should be, a new branch that forgoes lv.0 glitch?

It won't let me include subtitle in zip, so here's subtitles:
{1690}{1990}In order to do Lv.0 glitch, I have to get Maxim to level 2 and not max hp 31.
{2000}{2300}So preparing for battle, buying 2 boomerangs so I won't waste turns fighting 2 enemies at once.
{3100}{3400}Entering and leaving tutorial cave allowed me to manipulate RNG for best possible world map encounters.
{5000}{5300}I have to heal Maxim to max HP, and then go to config screen. Pressing left on music option to glitch Maxim.
{5310}{5610}Saving game, reset, load game to activate Lv.0 glitch.
{6580}{7000}Next I need to glitch Maxim again, so whenever his name brings up in dialog; I can access limited event triggers in memory.
{7050}{7350}Glitching Maxim again using 7 potion and 1 charred newt, then press left on music option in config screen.
{7360}{7660}Normally I would only need to use 8 potion, but it didn't work on this case.
{7880}{8180}Pressing down 120 times, press A. This way I can recruit Guy for next part of glitch.
{8200}{8500}Dropping excessive amount of items to resume the game.
{11700}{12000}I needed to use reset spell to leave this tutorial cave.
{12300}{12600}I would need to open menu and close in Tia shop. Not doing this will reset game to title screen.
{12610}{12910}Pressing down 39 times, press A. Getting 3rd glitched character. Have to look at glitched 3rd character status to resume next glitch.
{12920}{13220}Press down 49 times, press A. Warp to Clamento.
{13500}{13800}Press down 48 times, press A for next part.
{13900}{14200}Press down 66 times, press A, and then dropping excessive item and some dialog to get thru for next glitch.
{14830}{15130}Press down 46 times, press A, this completes the game.
Save as .sub *Edit, updated it manually, Lsnes didn't save sub with "end" of line time correctly.

well lsnes is one of the recommended emulators,i don't get the question but it's the easiest to use in my opinion
Well I was asking about which emu is accurate enough for Lufia 2. Pretty dumb question so nevermind.. I gave LSNES a try, it uses same bsnes core but the core version is older than BizHawk (LSNES is 85, Biz is 87). But credit roll text isn't shaky on LSNES surprise surprise.. guess I'll use LSNES to run it.

On BizHawk, The credit roll text are shaking ? It don't appear to do that at all on snes9x. What are recommended emu to TAS? I have not tried Lsnes.

Anyone knows the reason? My guess is that the game checks if you have all the items in the first line, which includes the red orb, which I skipped.

What kind of emulator did you use? In Bizhawk, 15 minute run makes around 9 KB. I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Hacked rom for english translation, easiest mode, and you say you're aware of not submitting that but you're trying to submit movie file?

An update. I just finished Stage 2, I'm already 1 minute faster over nico nico video tas and I believe I should be able get at least 20 seconds faster in Stage 3. Expect movie submission later today or tomorrow.

Alright, so I played around, test some stuff... I'm going to have to restart basically from beginning again, setting teleport point right at beginning instead of using teleport twice like what I just did on my first WIP video is about 40 frames faster. I'm definitely going to do the route in that nico video.. but here's the changes I'm going to do: Around 7:05 to 7:33 of that video, where he used gold key to get silver key, I'm skipping that part. By using ESP teleport trick (seem to only work from the right side). See video below: Link to video Also along with that, I will still have gold key on hand, which saves me from having to go down to grab gold key then walk back up like what he did between 8:37 to 9:37. So I will be go straight to boss fight, then go down, get thunder power up then continue the route like nico video did. I'll probably be able to skip an extra silver key in stage 3 and use ESP trick at last silver door at 14:50. I don't have much time to work on TAS for a few days, but I will over on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. So if anyone have something, or a new time-saving trick to share before I begin work on this TAS, please post.
