I wasn't able to reproduce duplication Midge Robe glitch (green cape thing). I think it's some kind of power-on screw up. Something I have digged up could be useful (wasn't tested myself) Power Bonus - (reset code in manual i think..) This trick allows your characters to permanently have super strength, speed, defense, or any other power from the girl's magic menu. Simply cast the spell of your choice on any single character, sleep at the Inn and immediately save your game. Restart, and the next time the game is loaded, your character will have that power permanently. You can do this with as many power spells as you like, but some spells may interfere with others and cause previous powers to disapear. Nevertheless, this trick is great for if your character is already at its maximum power level and you aren't satisfied with his skills. Permanent Weapon Powers - (reset code in manual i think..) Like the trick above, but gives the power to a weapon instead. Cast a spell on a single character equiped with the weapon of your choice, and simply go to the weapon selection menu and switch the powered-up weapon with a non- powered up weapon equipped to someone else. Try casting Lunar on the sword for constant HP regeneration. Multiple Weapon Orbs Have one of character pick up treasure chest that contains weapon Orb (can't be boss / regular items), switch to other character keep pressing attack button near treasure chest. http://www.planetnintendo.com/secretofmana/secrets.html http://mmxz.zophar.net/rpg/mana/secrets/secrets.html http://www.flyingomelette.com/oddities/oddities25.html

Does 020 store whether the game is GB, SGB, GBC, or SGB2 (SGB + GBC)? I noticed that 016 only stores whether or not it's GBA, so I was a little confused.
maybe 016 is something to do with playing movie either GBA or gb/sgb/gbc in sync.

I just remembered a rare odd glitch on an actually console when I played on it long ago. When you get Sprite, he started out alot duplication of beginning green cape (it was full inventory of it). I don't have any idea how to do it, I just remembered that I named the sprite "ANT" and looked up the inventory, whoa what just happened?.. I tried the same name "ANT", it didn't happen again. If this glitch actually used in the run, you could have a few more cash to spend if you sell it all. It's something to look up for... (I could play around with savestate before dwarf cave on emu, but im having trouble with configuring control)

I have never had problem configurating control to joypad, but this new version, but in this version 7, im having trouble adding joypad control. (I dont know when was introducted, i was jumped from version 4 to 7) I dont know how to explain it, but it's doing weird screw up. It's not joypad problem (other emu doing fine).

Is there anything wrong with just leaving the emulator setting on "Automatic" and border on "automatic border" instead?
some game has both SGB and GBC build in (i think dragon warrior monster is one of them, any games that has old GB shaped cart with "GBC" label), does automatic pick up SGB or GBC randomly (would be desync) or it would use the best setting (GBC)?

Well some of you may or may not know that I am planning to make time-attack for MM5 on VBA, it's over in this thread. --------- Mega Man 5 (US) Run Plan Boss Order NEPTUNE -> Use Mega Arm -> Go to Mercury MERCURY -> Use Mega Arm -> Go to Mars MARS -> Use Salt Water -> Go to Venus VENUS -> Use Photon Missile -> Go to Dark Moon DARK MOON -> Use Photon Missile -> Go to Pluto PLUTO -> Use Grab Buster -> Go to Jupiter JUPITER -> Use Bubble Bomb -> Go to Saturn SATURN -> Use Electric Shock -> Go to Uranus URANUS -> Use Break Dash -> Go to Death Skull NEPTURE For 2 helicopter, slide to the right side (make them turn other direction) before they begin shooting (maintain to keep them on right side). Take hit from stream (during falling) and go thru next unavoidable streams (2 parts). Use nice timing slide and jump without falling (for 1 or 2 parts). Kill Nepture Boss. Obtain Salt Water (NE). Luck maintainable boss. MERCURY Use Salt Water to destroy falling barrel (SHOULD be faster with it - 2 or 3 parts), some enemies dies quicker with Salt Water rather than Mega Arm. Kill Mercury boss with Mega Arm. Obtain Grab Buster (ME). NOT Luck maintainable boss (attack pattern). MARS Use Grab Buster against mini-boss (some frames quicker than Mega Arm, should be...) Kill Mars boss with Salt Water. Obtain Photon Missile (MA). NOT Luck maintainable boss (attack pattern). VENUS Kill Venus boss with Photon Missile. Obtain Bubble Bomb (VE) + Rush Coil (RC). Luck maintainable boss. DARK MOON Free all weapons energy refill here - Use Photon Missile to kill Dark Moon. NOT Luck maintainable boss (attack pattern). PLUTO Use Salt Water to kill tunnel machine. Kill Pluto with Grab Buster. Obtain Break Dash (PL). NOT Luck maintainable boss (attack pattern). JUPITER This level is pain in the ass to "speed" thru, DON'T use Break Dash. Take hit and go ahead for most part. Use bubble bomb against ceiling enemy. Take right path (up ladder is dead end). Kill Jupiter with bubble bomb. Obtain Electric Shock (JU). Little luck maintainable boss (has attack pattern, but you can change where he go) SATURN Take left path at start. At path split, go down (left is dead-end). Kill Saturn with Electric Shock. Obtain Black Hole (SA) + Rush Jet (RJ). Luck maintainable boss. URANUS Use Photon Missile only mini-bosses (3 shots) and switch to Break Dash after 2nd mini-boss (jump down right ASAP when spike disappear, and hold right pass monkey). Use Rush Jet for wait parts. Kill Uranus with Break Dash. Obtain Deep Digger (UR). NOT Luck maintainable boss (attack pattern). TERRA Kill Terra with Deep Digger. Obtain Spark Chaser (EA). Luck maintainable boss. DEATH SKULL Take short-cut, do sliding thru enemies in short-cut (with Break Dash invurability). -Enker, Mega Arm, no other weakness. -Quint, Photon Missile or Mega Arm. -Punk, Bubble Bomb or Mega Arm. + try to maintain # of bouncing spiked ball? -Ballade, Bubble Bomb / Photon Missile / Mega Arm. -Teleport System (see bottom). -Arm Bots, Salt Water (quicker than Mega Arm). -Wily Machine, use Bubble Bomb to destroy gravity enemy from Wily's Machine (2 shots). Luck maintain timer bomb with 1 counter left? -Wily (broken) Machine, use Spark Chaser (pretty fast kill) SUNSTAR (final) Luck maintain Spark Chaser to hit Sunstar better? Jump down ASAP when Sunstar destroy floor. End recording when dialog is finished (at "Leave Now!") --------- LINK TO VBA Re-recording EMU ----> HERE *edit - WIP + test run + short (from now) clip demostrating instant kill Uranus in 1 zip in my sig

I might sound a little dumb, but I can't figure out why he always uses an echo screen right before playing slots with Setzer ... I noticed that in part 5 of the speed run. Any idea?
I think thats related to this..

Getting morph ball part looks faster, good job. Why don't you get Samus to "DO" something when you need to wait? Try view Teri's movie, you get the idea..

In Sonic 2 on genesis it behaves exactly the same. In sonic 3, you have to double-jump.
Oh I must have not collect chaos much on Sonic 2.. I just had idea, it might help speed up a few frames in Green Hill - Act 2 (2 loops), similar to the speed boost trick you just did in Chemical Plant - Act 1.

One bad point about Sonic 's games is the lack of "funny & usefull" glitches. I wonder if the "sonics players" were that lazy not to discover as many glitches as the "smb players". Or the programers just did a good job ? I don't really a good knowledge about all the discovered glitches. Some might be too useless for a timeattack.
It does have a lot of glitches, but most of them will get you trapped / die / warp back (away from goal), but I'm not sure because i think a few of them were introducted in PS2 version. I have ran into lot of glitches in PS2 version while only owning this game for 2 days. well what I hate bout PS2 version is sonic automatic turn into super sonic if you have more than 50 ring and do a regular jump.. instead of pushing jump twice on Genesis =[

ventuz, the buttons held down, did u notice if it desanc more if you pressed what would be the d-pad or the A/B/L/R/Start/Select?
could be both, like if you held right direction, push savestate, then when you decide to push up from savestate, load savestate with up direction. I will test some more... I wish that vba rerecorder output text file offset address and button pressed every time we save savestate and load savestate.
