I thought he was doing it in 3 frames. Also, he’s doing a dash together with the move, and that doesn’t look like something that should be necessary to do. If it were possible to bypass the dash and just do the move, that’d be tons faster. Also I’m just saying to contact some Tekken pros. Doing any TAS without contacting the pro community of the game is fucking stupid, doesn’t matter if you’ve perfected it already.

Interesting point. How do we go about just doing it? Any improvements are welcome, though I'd recommend touching the game first :)

Note that out of the 124 needed drawings, exactly 4 have different properties. I will go over them here.

Link to video Another WIP! ArandomgameTASer went and redid Level 2 , saving around 35 frames, while also completely redoing Level 3, saving close to 450 frames.

After two long days of BASH HEAD AGAINST WALL having fun on Level 3, a very dirty WIP is done! Note that it is severly unoptimised. Trying for a long time didn't give the towering tower skip the world needed. Link to video

Link to video Yes, you read that right - another void glitch! This one is in Level 3 and was discovered completely by accident. Currently under heavy investigation, as it may just help skipping the entire level if we trigger the end cutscene.

Isn't this slower than the currently published run?

Consequently the published run of this game is run on NTSC timing. Luckily we have people like fsvgm777 who (unlike me) don't just take things for granted and test them out themselves. While the game certainly is doing something to account for region differences, the timing is clearly different. The game was only ever released in Europe, a US release was cancelled, and no ROM is known to exist of a US version, so while its possible that version would just use the original ROM, that is purely speculation. Therefore this run uses PAL timing now that that myth is firmly debunked.

If you're going through with this.. do the fifth case. It's by far the most interesting one, as in 'do input that isn't skipping dialogue'.

Post subject: the red orb tutorial skip this TAS really deserves

Link to video By far the biggest and most hype skip in the game, and I've been looking for it since I've been starting to TAS this game. Basically, there is a tutorial that sticks through the entire game, which is the red orb tutorial. It happens when you pick up a red orb for the first time. This is annoying if you want to heal (for an out of bounds, for example). This tutorial wastes over four seconds. However, by stacking the red orb tutorial at the same frame as the dialogue with Altair's buddy, the two events overlap. The result?
Altair, I've come to tell you how red orbs work!
Doing this event overlap completely skips the cutscene without any downsides, and at the same time makes for the best dialogue in this game.

Link to video Relatively useful glitch. By doing a frame-perfect submit, you can skip what you draw getting recon. You still need to do a first drawing to enable the 'Submit' button, though.

Here is what we will be using for the picture checking tool. It's at an near complete state right now! Input your valid picture using open image, and the bot will tell you interactively if the picture is inputtable in Brain Age or not.

Big progress! micro500 has done a tool to check if drawn pictures are valid and point out what's wrong with them otherwhise. Check it out at the DS thread. In other words.. this means we can start accepting pictures from artists as soon as micro500 polishes the tool (which means, in a few hours.) I'm going to start advertising it as soon as it's done, and I'm asking everyone in position to do so to do the same. (This might mean heavier load on the site..) We're also planning to remplace the 3 "..." screens in the script with a loading bar that fills out slowly but progressively (animated). Once it is full, it will burst out, spewing out black goo everywhere on the drawable field, including the edges and creating small pools of black sludge, before moving on to "Hello AGDQ2016!" Finally, one proof of concept: animated names. See for yourself (follow the top screen!) Link to video

I notice you use up all your items to perform a long jump at 12:20, but this doesn't seem too major a skip and you seem to spend more time farming replacements latter on than this jump saves. Did I miss anything?
The reason all items are used here is because of the air current. Doing item jumping over and over preserves speed from the air current, saving roughly over 20 seconds compared to doing the level normally with jumping.

Following the heated debate, one thing has been made clear: almost all of the TASvideos community agrees we should not use out of bounds drawing, and I and micro500 both agree. As such, out of bounds drawing will not be used unless absolutely necessary, and we hope it never comes to that. micro500 is currently doing work to make a program needed for artists. This would allow artists to draw a picture within Photoshop, MSPaint or your favorite drawing tool, see if your picture has the correct size and drawn within the correct limitations (4x4 square pen). If not, it would highlight what is either needed or missing and, ultimately, automatically fix it.
Analysing and fixing a wrong picture
We are trying to get this done very quickly as we need all the artists we can as soon as possible, while making it as easy as possible for them and not having them using DeSmuME in any steps! The submission method is being worked on. For now, our solution is a dedicated Skype account. As soon as the main thing (drawing fixer) is done, we will advertise to artists.

https://youtu.be/ZqBQW7J97ZE Following on this video: I have discovered that the chest glitch actually corrupts.. almonst the entire SRAM. It depends what part it corrupts, but it corrupts mostly in a set pattern. If you want to try: https://www.dropbox.com/s/szcfppi0ep1162y/chestglitch.dst?dl=0 Load this savestate.
Is there any use of that, or currently just makes the game unloadable?
It's complicated.. The chest glitch happens because you get far away enough from the chest after opening it. Depending on at which frame you go outside of the chest boundaries, you will get a different corruption pattern (or, in some case, non-pattern corruption) and depending on your position or where you jump, you will get a different area of the RAM corrupted. Usually, jumping on the chest will give you the most corrupted results. Using these settings, the corruption - is - controlable to an extent, although it will almonst always corrupt a very large portion of the RAM. The most 'precise' corruption I've got was corrupting 4 adresses in 24 in a set pattern. You can alter corruption further by doing the sewer void glitch and walking through several iterations of the sewer: this gives you different corruption. I'm not sure if something can be done, honestly; but it definitely has potential. The new resources page is here.

This is what a submission visually looks like. Notice where the part to access discussion is hidden in a little box with a lot of links? And that is, it's in the right part of the page, where you have technical stuff. This can be a bit confusing, as the only indication to acess by far the most important thing next to submission is hidden in a sea of links, and I'd definitely see how someone with trouble with English could miss it. My suggestion? Replace the red box at the bottom of the submission with "Your submission is complete. Thank you! [Click here to be taken to the discussion and rating page of your movie.] Please check the discussion link often to be able to respond to any questions about your submissions: failure to do so will have your submission rejected.", embedding the link to the forum discussion in brackets along with a traduction in every language (japanese, chinese mainly.) This text would be short enough to be translated in a lot of languages without taking too much space. In French, I can do the translation right now: "Votre soumission est complète. Merci! [Cliquez ici pour être redirigé vers la page de discussion et d'évaluation de votre soumission.] Merci de visiter ce lien souvent pour être en capacité de pouvoir répondre aux questions à propos de votre soumission: faute de quoi, votre soumission sera rejetée."

Dude, would you please take a look at the Games Resources section of the site? The page for this game messed up the DS games section. That's because you forgot to remove the ":" on the game's name. I know this because I've made that mistake as well some time ago. Also you forgot to add an "s" to the word Assassin on the name too. :P
Swiftfully edited. For the name: I don't think anyone knows how to spell the name of this game..
