Probably, although I'm working on a playaround run first. While the max score run is much more solid technically than the old any% run, it does have some flaws that I'm planning to fix. You are right in that I wouldn't be able to use health overflow there, though.

I think it would count, and would be a pretty interesting way to beat the game, but it would be pretty boring to watch.

Yeah, I know about the unoptimisation, and didn't have enough game knowledge at the time to really optimise. Will redo the run. I'll only adress one point: two player. In this game, there really isn't a lot of fighthing outside the bosses because you go very fast and there isn't many enemies to keep up. Adding a second player causes a little bit more lag and would be mostly pointless, because he would follow exactly the same path as 1 player and only help for destroying bosses quicker (which is a little bit scummy.) In this case, I think it's better to compete against the current 1P records, rather than restrict the difficulty with 2P.

You don't need to make another topic every time. In fact, this forum is pretty active, and each post is directly relayed to our IRC channel, #tasvideos. If you want more real-time help, I would suggest going there. Regarding your problem, try what Invariel suggested. From there, simply enabling Read+Write will allow you to directly continue from your latest savestate, even if the movie stopped much before.

Make sure the hotkeys are right. Also, if your laptop is not fast enough, you won't be able to speed up emu (still slow down though.)

This is slightly improvable on most parts, but improvements are gated by a frame rule. (I tried :() Yes otherwhise, entertaining run.

i have a question that may enhance it. is there anyway to recognize when a game turns off the inputs so i can do the same?
If I understood correctly, track the adress that tracks input and set it to end your script when it's set to 0 (no input).

Link to video Movie file 8573 frames ahead (02:22.88 seconds.) This is perhaps my favorite level in the entire game, because it has everything to make a good level: clever yet challenging platforming, nonlinear paths, and most of all none of that chase music! This is also probably one of the most challenging levels to TAS, and here an extra challenge was added: being at 5 health. This platforming has lot of options, and I feel it really shows in the TAS, with lots of both tight and unconventional jumps that chain very well into a smooth arrangement. Being at 5 health had some moments harder than others, but it all led up to this level: if it could be completely succesfuly with 5 health, using the health upgrade in this level, then I would indirectly save over 6 seconds. This was a success, and although I had to make some detours because of having 5 health in earlier levels, it only cost about 2 seconds, leaving me with a huge four second save. Most of all, this means there are no more save/loads in the entire run! Because of 5 health, however, some changes had to be made to the route. Most notably, in the latter half of the level, I have to use the top route, instead of the bottom route. Initially, this was thought to be slower by me, but thanks to being able to pull off reverse grabs, the whole section is gotten by blazingly fast and ends up faster than the bottom route.

As far as I know, there's no interest in Flash emulation whatsoever.

Learn to Fly 2 is a flash game. In practice it is almost possible to tas flashplayer.exe (and as a result be able to TAS most web games), but you'll have to wait for further Hourglass Resurrection development for this to be possible.
