I have a feeling what you're referring to is a different game. Yes, this game had an snes version, but the mega drive version was overall better from what I know. Then the 2 player game was made later, only for SNES. It takes away most of the abilities that could be used for speed, like the dash jump each character has in this one. I might try that one later on tho, but for now, I'll try this.
... Now, meaning when I get home. And if I have time after working on my Kirby's Adventure Perfect Runs for my youtube channel.
Edit: ok, I got through the title screen as quickly as I could (frame-wise), but I had to study for my physics exam, so that's all I could do tonight. Hopefully tomorrow I can get enough done to post a WIP, but I do have my kirby's adventure perfect runs to focus on as well ...
Oh, and I'll be playing on Hard mode, which let's you fight the true final boss after queen beryl.
There's only one TAS of a Sailor Moon game so far, and this game is a really fun and creative final fight-style game. Plus, I may just have the patience to TAS it! :D
No WIP's yet, because I'm at school, Exam week, yada yada yada. But the preferred character would likely be Venus, due to her Earth Direct Throw, which pretty tears through enemies' health.
Also, not related to the fact of speedrunning, this is the first game that I've actually created a cheat code on by myself (reading memory addresses, etc)! Meaning that now, I know how to read memory addresses! Meaning that should help with TASing, given I am patient enough! YAY!
For those curious, the code is FFFEAA:00##, and effects the number of continues you have. Pointless in a speedrun for obvious reasons, I know, it's just a big deal for me because it means I'm learning a skill that will help me as a game designer! ^v^
Just to let everyone know, I've pretty much given up on TASing this. I do not have the patience! However, I will still help where I can, and as soon as I have a speedrun recorded off my real DS, I'll post it here.
Looking at your WIP, wow! There are more ways to cut the time of the run! I'll bear that in mind! Especially that part before the escape sequence. Maybe there's a way to manipulate Spongebob to stay on the big platform while you jump to the area where they mention the unstable platforms? Also, good luck manipulating the final boss to get it's cannonball to hit itself, that's only ever happened to me twice.
Let me guess: Testing, Testing 1, 2, 3 has no special guest characters while the others do? (Daring Don't: Daring Do, Maud Pie: Maud Pie, Simple Ways: Trenderhoof, Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3: N/A)
I made most of the details over at pink rose gardens: http://pinkkittyrose.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5919&p=249542#p249542
Anyways, to say goodbye to wifi, I'm planning to host an SSBB tournament before it ends for good. Its not going to be a super professional tournament, so some items will be turned on, no characters excluded, some stages excluded. For more details follow the link. If you want to sign up for it, give me your skype name and and friend code for the game. There are 16 spots for players, and 8 maybe even 9 have already been filled, so we are close to that goal. There's no planned date yet, other than being before May 20th, obviously. You can sign up here or at the pink rose gardens, whichever you prefer.
Good news! My dad made it so I can record from my real DS, so I'll be able to show off my TASing route in real time! It'll be a while before I decide to do that, however, as I am currently working on other projects for my yotuube channel.
Yeah, I've already started, and it isn't as hard as I thought, especially since I now know about the infinite potion trick that is up for debate on whether it is an accidentally left in beta testing element, an easter egg (I highly doubt this, but my dad says otherwise, and he does know this stuff), or a glitch. Hey, I played the the game the first time legitimately, so now I can go through using glitches guiltlessly! XD
Now, is there any way at all to get the sisters into the throne room?
Edit: I'm just gonna go ahead and guess that by "Two thief rings increases attack stat to 99", you meant miser rings. Fail, am I correct? XD
Hey, can anyone try to explain as simply as possible how to do the warp glitches to get to the top of the castle to face the final boss really quickly? I'm not planning to speedrun, i just want to use the trick to beat hard mode level 1 cap easily, because trying to get through the entire game without leveling up ... It is one of the harder games in the series, lets just say that.
Also, does anyone know of any glitches to get into the throne room in sister's mode? Or any way at all, even if by code. (Remember, im not speedrunning this game, this is for my own gameplay purposes ... Or whatever its called :P )
So, what do you do when the internal hard drive of your xbox 360 gives out? You TAS. I'm working on a special tas of a sonic hack. Not saying what it is though, I want it to be a surprise.
No, its supposed to go to the next scene in the ending and then the credits. But it just went from the middle of the ending straight to the third scene in the game and then the first level when i pressed the start button accidentally. I know the game well enough to know that thats an epic glitch.
Uhhhh, funny thing, I just pressed start while the ending was playing, diring the part where it showed the gang in the bus, and then it booted me to the third cutscene. Im serious. AND THEN THE FIRST LEVEL! Replay much!? O.o
I tried speedrunning again, and got a time of 1:18:00.6. Its nowhere near my best time, mainly due to being out of practice, but I feel if I was in practice, I would've gotten a new record. Hey, I had to do SOMETHING while I had this flu. :P
I know its not the other way around. I was just saying that Sonic 3 has a slightly sifferent engine which might make a run of Sonic 3 alone safer to make. Y'know, with more glitches and all. Or you could do Sonic 3 Complete, a romhack which is basically Sonic 3 and Knuckles, but it uses Sonic 3's engine. However it does fix many bugs, so I'm not really sure about that one. I leave all to you guys.
Isn't sonic 3's engine slightly different? Maybe that could be abused for some faster speedruns at parts, if one were to do a Sonic 3 TAS? (I know this is Sonic and Knuckles, just stating) After all, do we know if Knuckles' boss was added for Marble Garden?
Well, I want to do the squidward run, as that is the one I have my route for. It's just annoying to set it up, as I have almost no time to make the verification movie, being busy and all.
Y'know what, when I get back on computer, I'll just use your test run as a verification movie, and worry about trying to collect treasures later. I JUST WANT IT TO BE DONE! DX
I think the TAS is great, but I could care less about Yu Gi Oh. It brings back bad memories of my grandmas death. ... Basically, when I was told she died, I was wearing a yugi costume, and we got rid of it, it was too sentimental. Theres nothing wrong with that, dont judge me.
