Thanks; I ended up making a version that is 2 frames faster and used that instead. The two frames come from level wrap 1 frame earlier and from better camera placement (further right at the time of the level wrap), if you are wondering.

The glitch which we abused to improve Tails run, can be (in theory) used to improve the currently published Sonic run by Tee-N-Tee, as I tested it for Sonic and found it possible to glitch through that floor-ceiling for him. However, setting up the zip itself needs some precise work which I am really lazy to do (I have other things to do in Qwerty’s WIP), and thus I cannot say whether this trick will save time. But even if it will, the gainings will not exceed some frames. (upd) as I’ve found out, Tee-N-Tee was aware of the mentioned trick (and even performed it in real time), thus, I beleive, abusing it would not save time.

To be truthful, I was aware of this, too. it's been a thing for a LONG time. Since the game came out. And, yes, mazrojr, you can go through the ceiling, and floor.

I found two improvements First: Knuckles in Sonic 1 (SBZ2): Taking another route using the Tee-N Tee's zip Second: Tails in Sonic 1 (GHZ3): Also another route but only the first part of the zone These improvements do not exceed 3 to 5 frames faster Nothing more...

Nice work. Some things will not work so smoothly when I finally finish porting the S3&K camera system (because it moves faster), but this TAS should survive transition to the next version. By the way, you do know you can just ask about the RAM addresses, right?

Sorry, I have no idea what is Chaotic Style and rubber band physics. I TAS only Sonic games :)

In my hack, go to options, game options and change coop mode from 'classic' to 'chaotix'. It adds Knuckles' Chaotix-style energy bands that pulls the players to one another.

Nice run, LTRP. I’ve just realized that braking before the very first monitor in my TAS was pointless, much faster was to stop by simply hitting it. Since this hack allows jumping from the same position where you charge your spindash, it should be possible to take a boost from that monitor this way. But it was a J4F TAS anyway… (upd): I’ve just realized that it may be actually worse, because when you jump, the X and Y speed values depend on slope angle of the previous frame, which in this case will be the same and thus the resulting X speed will be worse and may be not enough to benefit from a big jump. Apoligies for guessing, that’s simply because I really enjoy trying to figure out the things without even TASing.

Omg I got 0:59.59 in MGZ as Amy! CNZ1 and CNZ2 improvements coming soon, I am happy :) (upd) the preliminary CNZ1 result is 0:31.41. I cannot proceed to CNZ2 yet, because I need to have a good Y position inside the wall, which I do not have yet. So the CNZ1 result may change.

Tiny? In act 2? Are you kidding? Link to video You don’t even need to underflow act 2 — you can easilly go as fast as the camera during the whole act. My GHZ1 is also improveable though, I will improve it if I decide to do a longer TAS of this game.

"Sonic 1 Open Source Project"? Seeing that threw all kinds of alarm bells in my head. So I googled it, and unfortunately, my fears were proven correct -- this hack is by OuricoDoido, a well known (read: infamous) code thief that stole code from, among others, MegaMix, and then distributed it. While he may have learned something or other since, he is likely to always be shunned by other Sonic hackers.

By the way, this game is really glitchy, there is some weird camera glitch similar to the one in Vector in Sonic 1, but not the same. I have absolutely no experience with this hack and so I TASed it just for fun, striving to make it well, but still not sure what other glitches/tricks are possible. The game is really speedy and if you like speed, you’ll enjoy the run anyways.
