Hi, I've made several movies using Famtasia and I've been having a lot of troulbe turning them into mpeg/avi files. I've tried using NNNesterJ to convert them but the timing always goes wrong and screws the input up. I've tried using at least 10 different screen capture programs but it never works without making the mpeg over a gigabyte. I've tried adjusting the framerate, quality, etc. but it makes the movies unwatchable. What do you suggest I do? Thanks

I forgot to log in before posting this thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a perfect Ninja Gaiden 2, Mike Tyson's Punch-out!!!, Super Mario Bros., and Mega Man 2 vid ready, as well as a Ninja Gaiden one hit video.

Allright, I'll configure it so that guests can't post. :) About your question - I guess you're using Windows. I can't help with Windows software questions. but Morimoto's page mentioned "microsoft Windows Media Encorder, TMPEGenc, etc.)" which I guess fit this subject.

The file size limitation is more serious. The key to that is to record directly to a compressed file. A lightly encoded 16000 kbit/s mpeg4 (/xvid/divx/...) takes about 10 MB per minute (because the encoder usually encodes at much lower rate) and has nearly flawless quality - ideal for resampling with heavy settings later when the emulator doesn't need cpu power. For mpeg1 encoding and even asf the size may be bigger - I don't know about that very well.

How fast is your Super Mario Bros. video? I already made a 5:08 video and I'm pretty sure that's as low as it can go.

Btw if you send the fmv file to me, I can encode it to avi and publish it (and the fmv) on my page, provided the movie is good enough. I don't take submissions in multimedia file formats.

if you use an emulator like Virtuanes, it has a built-in avi converter. I personally use Camtasia Studio to create the time attack wmv/avi/mpg.

I've tried Camtasia but the movie always ends up too choppy. Bisqwit, I'll send you the fmv files. The Punch-out vid is with no hits, but 4 fights go 2 rounds. Also, the Ninja Gaiden 2 vid is without taking a hit, but it's kinda slow at parts because I didn't want to be hit. The SMB vid is like 5:38 so it's not going to break any speed records. Tell me where to send them to if you want any of them. Thanks
