Post subject: Syncing Challenge

Hello all. As you might have heard, I've been doing some console verifications lately. In order to verify, first, the run must sync to FCEUX. This often doesn't initially work, but can be fixed by manually editing the converted files. As this is incredibly frustrating work for me and often very time consuming, I'm wondering if any of you are up to the task. Here are some current runs that I own the cartridge for that won't sync on FCEUX for me: [430] NES Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II by Sami in 1:01:00.90 [310] NES Battletoads "warps, 1 player" by Phil, Genisto in 13:27.98 [842] NES Mickey Mousecapade by Randil, CtrlAltDestroy in 07:23.68 I also challenge people to sync the Famtasia runs for Super Mario Bros 2 and Journey to Silius to FCEUX, as they are likely to sync to the NES if successfully converted. Let me know if you have anything for me.

Mickey Mousecapade requires a reset to manipulate the enemies on the first room. Is it possible to do it with the bot? I will try to sync Battletoads, but I can't promise anything.

I can do a reset manually, but I'd prefer to avoid it if possible. Can't you just add a certain amount of frames to recreate that memory state?

RAM differs right after the restart and I could sync just one value, out of six, with input. But everything I know about tasing I learned on the last few hours, so someone else will have to that check too. Don't know if you saw this. It syncs with FCEUX. I tried to use the beginning of this input on the accepted movie, but it didn't work either.

FCM Battletoads won't sync on FCEUX even after some editing. You'd likely have to redo all the run. Adelikat said this is because of different emulation of the 7th mapper. It also has Raw PCM samples wich may cause desync (not sure about that). One more frame of lag here & there - and you get acceleration broken.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
