I'm such a noob in saying this... I downloaded an ISO image from [MOD EDIT: NO ROM LINKS] and it won't load. My laptop slows down for some reason, my desktop CD drive is broken, and my Mac mini got a virus and endless popups. God forbid why is NO COMPUTER SAFE FROM VIRUSES, SPYWARE, ADWARE, etc for NO F***ING REASON! Sorry for going off-topic, but I need your help. How do I get ISO images to work?

Probably a bad ISO, or it may not work in the emulator (some PSX emulators don't like certain games). Try another ISO.

I presume you're running Windows on that Mac Mini? I've never even seen a non-Windows system getting popups. I'm sorry to say, but these problems almost invariably stem from the user running or installing a malicious program. You should stay away from untrustworthy ROM sites for that reason. The ISO you downloaded might even have been the problem (in that case it might not even be a valid ISO file).

I am NOT running Windows on my Mac Mini. I had to use 7-zip and ECM to uncompress the file. So I got the ISO image to run.

I never quite understood why people say "lock this topic" when it's done for them. Someone else might have the same or a very similar problem and find this topic through Google, no need to lock it so that they can't reply.

Ive wondered that too. My best guess is this: notice that it is pretty much only novices who say that. They may be accustomed to their threads getting locked at the end because recently, as a novice, they have been asking a bunch of really dumb questions that make moderators want to shut them up by answering them and then immediately closing the thread. But eventually they learn otherwise. How do you like my theory?
