Yes, I know this game sounds like a stupid one from the title, but I've actually found it to be a good side-scroller - which happens to be based on a book, I believe. I originally was working on a speedrun of this game, but I recently put it on hold, feeling that I needed to plan it out more. Here were some things I discovered in my first attempt that I wish to put out here, in case either someone wants to do a timeattack for this in my place or wants to help me out: -Of the three characters (Archie, Lorenzo, and Reese), I found that Archie appears to have the longest and highest jump. It seems the extra distance matters when going through some areas fast. -When using a close combat move, the player is invincible until a split second before they can move again. If timed properly, this can be used to avoid attacks rather than relying on risky jumps. -During the usage of a smart bomb, the player is invincible until the smart bomb completely subsides. It's too bad these can't be used against the big bosses AT ALL. -Doing what I shall call a 'stomp' move (hitting down + jump together in midair before reaching the apex of a jump) onto an attack greatly reduces damage from a single hit. Now, for where I got stuck. I originally wanted to do a no-damage timeattack. But against the second major boss (the one after the level with the Tesla machine), when you're on his right side late in the battle and he starts firing lava bombs, I have yet to find a way to completely avoid damage. I've succeeded in reducing it to one or two slivers of health lost (this is on Hard mode) using a 'stomp' right onto the flames, but no luck completely evading damage. If anyone knows a way and can help me, I would appreciate the help. I would also appreciate any other planning or advice in regards to this game.
