This was an.... odd thread. What do you mean with the topic exactly? All the games that has a cheat?

Not sure for NES, but I know that Donkey Kong Country 3 for SNES has one of those cheats.

I figure it one of 3 ways: 1) All games with difficult mode cheat: Which means every game with a difficult mode cheat the player, and in this case, you're wrong. The game's not cheating you - it's the controller. 2) All games with difficult cheat modes: In which case, it's not much of a cheat mode. If, for example, there was a cheat mode in Ghosts 'N' Goblins that made Arthur's hair blue, it would still be impossible - find a game with a better cheat mode. 3) All games with cheat modes that are difficult to perform: Most of us can pull off Konami's U,U,D,D,etc with our eyes closed, but if you have to put your shirt on inside out and sing Happy Birthday whilst simultaneously pressing every button on both controllers and blinking in unison, stick to Bubble Bath Babes and furries. So which is it?

I figure three different types of "cheats" here: 1. "These games are too difficult--they're CHEATING! It's not the game's fault that you can't play well; it's your problem, perhaps because of a faulty controller or general lack of skill.* 2. "Check it out--this code changes the player sprite to another one with the exact same moves! Isn't it RAD?!" This one's a cheat on the part of the designers to try and include "variety" without requiring much effort. 3. "Sure, we've included a cheat mode. But to pull it off, you have to press (insert insane push-button code requiring multiple controllers) in five seconds, and if you mess up, you have to start again! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! So, which one did you mean, julianch?
*Even though that's what he wrote, I disagree--in some games, the AI is programmed to "cheat"--that is, to perform better than naturally possible, in order to give the player a challenge (see: Mario Kart 64).

Yeah - that's what I meant. Only I got to include furries and Bubble Bath Babes somehow.

I think he means games with cheat codes that increase the difficulty. I would think these would be the few cheat codes allowed in these videos, anyway.

Yeah, the main reason for using difficult mode in the videos is so people don't watch them and say, "Well, I could beat it like that if I played on the easy level." That's the reason for a lot of the rules we come up with around here. I'm pretty sure the reason the player in the all-levels Super Mario Bros. 3 run changes back to little Mario before starting each level is so viewers can't say, "Well, I could beat that level if I started with a power-up." Of course, players of the American version could point out that for them to do that, they'd have to get hit TWICE after getting a second power-up. Heh.

Well...look, I thought your Takahashi Mejin 4 run was good, even if it could use a little work. Please, don't take this personally; I just think that Bisqwit and the others deal with so many games that they've lost some objectivity, when it comes to just watching a run. But like they've said already, don't give up, and don't just copy someone else's work, either.

You're supposed to borrow their IDEAS, not their finished products! Ha ha.

Or at the very least, if you insist on doing that, ask permission from whoever made the run in the first place.
