Ok so I stumbled upon this video. Link to video It wears [Tool-Assisted] in the title, and the rest of the title means "Dudley Combo Test". I've put this in the Windows forum, because I'm not sure it's possible to emulate Xbox 360 and PS3 games, let alone TAS them, and there's a PC version of this game. But the thing is, the combo seems possible to be played in real time. On the other hand, if you watch the input display on the left, the inputs are done really really fast. Especially the 5-6 last inputs, as they trigger his Ultra Combo. I'm not sure if it's done with Hourglass, with a TAS in-game hidden feature or with a macro keyboard. Do you think this is an actual TAS, and is it possible to use Hourglass with such a game?

Hourglass isn't up for this kind of game yet, I'm pretty certain. But do remember that "TA" just means "tool-assisted", and there's any number of tools beyond just emulators. I'd guess that in this case the tool used is a programmable macro keyboard to send a certain sequence of inputs with sufficiently precise timing.

Who said it's PC version? You can already do nifty things with PS3 and both Xbox 360, not to mention the beta PS3 emu edit: I watched the video, looks like a simple Sixaxis emulator with predefined series of input.

So, in other words, it's a macro peripheral. In that case, it can be done on any platform, and it doesn't follow the rules here. I would totally be able to do such a thing with my Sidewinder X6 keyboard on the PC version I have.

I would enjoy using macros to unlock all the character trials in the game, because they are impossible. It would be a "TAS" with a purpose other than entertainment.

yeah I use a sidewinder x4 but there are some good software macro tools available. Autoit or AutoMacro are better then autohotkey for this kind of thing, but hardware options seem the most precise. I've actually used that Sixaxis Emulator, it works really well if what you want is to use a keyboard on a ps3. It has some macros built in but it lacks the precision you would want. if you can't do it,no point in actually reaching the other hahahah SDA had a similar thread for speedrunning trials in ssf4ae
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

Take a close look at the input sequence on the left side of the screen. All attack inputs are done perfectly and nearly instantaneously, there's not a single redundant input button or stick position, and the half-circle inputs don't include diagonals which would either mean that the stick is spun so fast that it skips the diagonal input (which would mean a speed fast enough to spin around the stick 15 times per second, at the very least), or an input sequence of left-neutral-down-neutral-right, which is very nearly impossible to do perfectly, let alone in a ~3-frame span. The input is clearly tool-assisted, and humanly impossible.

If you mean the combo itself, then I'm not really sure about how 'impossible' it is, but it is at least very hard. I think I saw multiple one-frame-links that would be quite hard to do consistently, as well as a quite tricky meaty st.F+HP to U1 at the end, which is a one-frame link as well and requires perfect timing for the F+HP. It's maybe not impossible, but at the very least, very hard/ridiculously hard.
