The producer made Derpy Hooves an actual character in the show!
Her name is not going to be Derpy Hooves, though,

Mister Epic: A third season has already been hinted at. The ponies aren't going anywhere.

Nobody would have cared about this thread if the submission never happened (very low exposure). A submission (critical hit) about MLP (x2 super effective) for G3 (x2 super effective again) was unfortunately enough to hit some sensitive nerves. I wonder how this will play out.

Actually, the submission had nothing to do with this thread's creation. I just felt like creating it out of boredom.

If the show makes you laugh and feel emotions, is it all that bad to watch it? Can't it just be harmless fun? There are definitely worse things to watch on TV or the internet.

I'm just amazed by how many more people are fans of this than there have been of shows like, say, Lucky Star. Kagamin!

I think the point is that he lives in the same planet as the people who like it, so, yeah, if you don't like something and a lot of people do, your world will be worse. Sure, the world can't be perfect, but we can wish for a better world for ourselves, right?

You weren't. I discussed ponies on the IRC just as much as before you submitted the TAS. Stop being a narcissist; not everything is about you. This thread is not at all going in the direction I had hoped for.

Point 1: Fair enough. This isn't worth arguing over Point 2: You made this topic in the middle of a community that is not about ponies. Honestly, what did you expect, post after post of people arguing over who's the cutest? Given the territory I think things have been pleasantly civil.

So what exactly do you find so amazing about MLP? I can say that the animations are all exceptionally cute and the characters are quite believable. The only character I don't really get is Rarity. She embodies materialism and ellegance combined with generosity, but for me there seems to be something missing to make her character believable. It just seems so shallow, like I never got to know the real her through all the episodes. I wonder if that's intentional. The only real benefit I got from watching the show is that I feel more ready now for having a daughter some day. I have actually never seen a show that deals with so many problems that young girls encounter while growing up in such a high density. The Call of the Cutie episode f.e. really helped me understand how it'd have to feel like for girls hitting puberty, when some grow breasts earlier than others, some already hang out with guys and others don't, other girls in class being really cruel about it, peer pressure ensues, etc. And at the same time it encorporates the theme of having to decide on your future job, finding your porpuse in life, while really still being too young to make such important decisions. All of that in just 22 minutes. That's actually quite amazing imho.

Agreed. I thought it would be much worse. Also, I thought it was kind of weird when I started watching Hoshii no Kabii, but MLP is just disturbing.
