So, let's introduce yet another personality test for people on this site to take.
HASBRO's My Little Pony Personality Test
Last time I took it I got Twilight Sparkle. This time I got... Rainbow Dash?
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.
Calling it now (actually, called it when I only had the part one plot synopsis before it aired to go on): The elements of harmony were inside them the whole time.
Will be waiting for the 720p iTunes rip before watching so I only have to download once, so I'll be watching it Monday.

So obvious spoilers and stuff, you really should stop reading this topic and just watch the episode if this is an issue :P.
But anyway, Discord getting petrified almost from stupidity alone brings the episode down quite a few notches for me. He shows close to omnipotent powers and could have done pretty much whatever he wanted to stop it... They literally strut up to him, announce that they're going to turn him to stone and he does nothing. Sure, he was supposed to be cocky about it, but he's been hit with the elements before and should know what they're capable of, and it's not like the visual cues to tip him off that his corruption's wore off are subtle. Sigh, he was an awesome villain and it was just a really stupid way for it to end.
Also, Fluttershy supposedly able to gain on Rainbow in a chase through sheer willpower... with a balloon attached... Applejack's lying sounding more like snide sarcastic remarks and without the accompanying "poker face" that made it funny in the first place. And the corruption fix amounting to Twilight telling everyone to stop being an ass... with magickz! But those are more minor complaints.
Then again, Flutterbitch, Thom, Discord and chaotic Ponyville were all amazing and while the episode had potential to be better, it was great ^^.
Even the best player is limited by the speed of his fingers, or his mind's ability to control them. But what happens when speed is not a factor, when theory becomes reality?
Episode 1 and 2 was quite epic but suffered from the short episode durations. Once Twilight Sparkle got better the story almost just collapsed into the ending.
It had great potential to be something more.
Finally finished watching all episodes. Now to go through the arduous task of reading the three mile-long tvtropes pages about the show, plus all the individual tvtropes pages dedicated to each individual episode. And try to not get too much carried away by the links to other pages...

Maybe she also lost her speed alongside her loyalty?
Just finished the last episode of season 1, enjoyed the season. Good idea, not spent way too much time reading tvtropes in about a month or 2. I got Applejack as well. I'd have been content with her or twilight, so I'm happy.
Might watch episode 1 tonight...
Yeah, it felt a little rushed. But still good.
Best part was Discord drinking a glass of chocolate milk.
