Goals with this run:
  • Aims for fastest time
Qwerty's notes. This is a TAS of the GBA Chu Chu Rocket. On Puzzle Mode. The little mouse have into the rocket, so you can enter the next level. This is played on Normal mode & play 25 levels. All the 25 levels are done in this TAS. So, I hope that you like it!
Enjoy!

Mukki: Judging...
Mukki: The viewer response to this run has been overwhelmingly negative. The main complaint seems to be the lack of completeness and I can only agree. Merely playing the normal mode puzzles, the easiest in the game, quickly is not entertaining and it remains to be seen if the run would become any more entertaining if the other puzzle modes (Hard, Special and Mania) were to be included. Therefore I am rejecting this submission.

While well TASed, this amounts to nothing but a big video walkthough. There's nothing "impressive" about it from a TAS standpoint other then how fast you did it. Puzzle games like this just don't work well, IMO. Voting NO on game choice.

This game has 2600 levels in puzzle mode, and this video only does the first 25. If a puzzle mode run was to be made, it should at least be the first 100 (which are the developer-made puzzles - the other 2500 were submitted by players for the Dreamcast version's online mode). Puzzle mode in general wouldn't make for a good TAS, though. This is an amazing game and I think a TAS would be cool, but it should be challenge mode, not puzzle mode. For people who haven't played: in puzzle mode, the stage is frozen until you hit the play button, at which point you lose all control until you either fail or beat the stage. Challenge mode, on the other hand, is always moving, and it has varying objectives and sometimes an AI opponent to worry about. Route planning would actually be important and solutions would differ from real-time play.

I'll wait for an encode. Also, is Chu Chu Rocket the English name?

If you want to be technical it's actually 'ChuChu Rocket!' but yeah that's the name.

Does anyone actually call the boxing game "Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!"? Back to the topic, completing the easy levels is not impressive, no longer how quickly done it is.

Doing the first 25 puzzle mode levels is not that impressive in a TAS format. Challenge mode is what I would want to see TASed. Dreamcast game cover: So yes, it's Chu Chu Rocket!
