Let's see... Almost 7 years ago, when PCSX2 still had hope. No, I don't. Use Dolphin if the game's also on GC/Wii. Otherwise if you are forced to use PCSX2. Look elsewhere or guess what you have to do. All I remember is hitting F12 for dumping and guessing what to dump with.

So leave Simple 2x Resize (Hi res) checked off? >Start WAV Recording >Start AVI Recording >Simple 2x Resize (Hi res)

If you have a game that switches to hi-res (512 pixels per line) and/or interlacing (2x lines at half the fps) then the 2x Resize option might prevent BizHawk splitting the recording into several files, iirc.

So is it okay to use it?

  • If you use it and the game doesn't need it, you just waste a bit of space on your harddrive.
  • If you don't use it and the game switches between several screen resolutions, BizHawk will start a new output file after every resolution switch, so you'd have to manually combine these files afterwards.

Also is Gens SVN and Gens Rerecording 11 good versions of emulators to use for recording Sega CD videos?

I have a strange question, and i dont know how to explain clearly, but i'll try. Its about a encoding in general, not for TASes of perfect quality videos, but just acceptable quality: You can make a upscaling with lossy videos if the source's bitrate is higher than the target bitrate recommended? I mean: Youtube said that the good bitrate for 1440p 60FPS is 24Mb; if i have a 720p 60FPS video but with 30 or 50MB bitrate, its possible to do a "watchable" upscaling?

You have 2 logos in that logo. You're using 4 different fonts. I don't get what's with the galaxy background with the white foreground... --More-so when the PlayStation controller isn't like Cappy. What's up with the white line on the side? Dial it back. Like way back and try again. --- If you want to keep Cappy Stenciled like that with that background May I introduce you to Overlay and Soft Light: Overlay (left) | Soft Light (right) Dark Variant (Overlay shows its weakness here): Overlay (left) | Soft Light (right)

I'm going to disagree with fsvgm here for a second, I apologize. More can be done to it to make it neater. That amount of spacing makes it out to me that it's not organized. Compared to fsvgm's current logo her spacing is consistent, yours gets away from you. It's a bit of a nitpick I know. Three of my logos (two past, one current) show a style on how you can handle it if you're focus on the multi line like you have. Here's my 2016 Logo, my 2017 Logo and Current (2019). It also showcases that you can go large on your logo with your text (and in the case of my current logo, it does both). I know that fsvgm777 has informed you to make Shovel Knight smaller cause her and I talked about it earlier in private and it's apparent that change was made. But if you're smart with your logo and your text layout you can make him as big as you can. This is an example on what I mean. Do not use this as it's what I whipped up in 30 minutes (and it's 960x720). But you can use it as a template. I also kept your little red text styling on your alias as well. I believe you used the system font, but it didn't show up me for some reason so I had to use another font (VCR OSD Mono). I have specific issues with the font I used, but it was made quickly as an example (specifically the "p" and how it handles spacings).

If the entire image does not have a unifying concept, I think spreading the text around is better than having it in one place where it fits the conceptual background.

Can someone explain to me what sound suffering is? And how it works in emulators like SNES9x rr 1.5.1?

What would be some good settings to upscale Gameboy video dumps into "HD" for Youtube?

Assuming you have lossless 240x160 from a GBA, these ffmpeg parameters will upscale to 4k60 and will still look almost exactly sharp at all of Youtube's alternate resolutions above 720p60: ffmpeg -i input.avi -vf scale=2880x1920:flags=neighbor,pad=3840:2160:(ow-iw)/2:(oh-ih)/2 -c:v libx264 -crf 0 -c:a copy -pix_fmt yuv444p output.mkv If you have 160x144 from a GB/GBC: ffmpeg -i input.avi -vf scale=1920x1728:flags=neighbor,pad=3840:2160:(ow-iw)/2:(oh-ih)/2 -c:v libx264 -crf 0 -c:a copy -pix_fmt yuv444p output.mkv If you want it to not be letterboxed you can remove the pad= out to 4k, but it risks more quality loss.

these are just CLI parameters for ffmpeg, you'd change the file path after -i https://ffmpeg.org/download.html

Is there a way when you can translate that FFMPEG into AVISynth?

You can do a nearest neighbor resize using this function. You can pad a video using this function. The resizing padding in TiKevin83's first example would be:
Language: avisynth

PointResize(2880,1920).AddBorders(480, 120, 480, 120)
You can't do encoding in AviSynth so the rest of the command needs to go to FFmpeg.

I am looking into FFMPEG but I also want to know if there is a way tp convert the setup to Virtualdub? Or if I should use Handbrake for for my GameBoy video dumps as an alternative?

Virtual dub can encode videos using any VFW encoders you have installed. There is a VFW x264 encoder you can download. You select Video > Compression, then choose an encoder. When you "save as avi" from the file menu, it will encode using that encoder. Virtualdub has a bunch of filters you can apply. You can crop with a null filter, you can resize, etc. Just search for tutorials on how to do that stuff. Here's one I found in like 5 seconds: http://granjow.net/virtualdub-tutorial-editing.html
