To run the Gameboy Advance Version for a tas would be a challenge within itself as the AI act like a pain in the butt compared to the 3D on console To the game you need to play as the fastest 2 characters: (Good) Crunch, (Evil) Tiny Tiger

I tried skipping part of the track in several places in Electron Avenue (including one which would cut every lap in half), but it didn't count as a lap. So unlike Mario Kart games, in this game, the player seems to always be required to drive the whole track for every lap.

Thanks. I'm at class right now, so it's way more convenient to see an encode than to download VBA, the ROM, and your movie with this slow connection. You made a lot of progress in two nights. At this rate, you'll be able to finish your run in a week!

The PS2 is not a TASable console yet, so you should be good for now. Just be prepared for that a PS2 TAS of this in the future may obsolete your run. However, the PS2 and the GBA are very different consoles, the runs may be able to co-exist if they are different enough in game-play and glitches.

There's an existing thread for this game already. I hope someone could merge these posts into that topic. The GameCube version is TASable, so you could always use that if you wanted. You'll probably want to know how to optimize first, but it should be fun to TAS.

So I might as well start a massive third lua project... CNK. This is quite an annoying one to be honest for the value hunt. Download WCH (254 bytes) Race and Overworld Speed are different which is why "Section" exists it's for the lua. Item is -1 when no item an- I'll put a list for each item down below. "Shots" means as it sounds this would appear on lua for Missiles and Bombs (0-3)
ITEM (0300450C)
-1 : No Item
0 : TNT/NITRO
1 : Shield
2/13+ : Aku/Uka
3 : Boost
5/11 : Missile
6 : Tropy's Clock
8 : Ice Mine
9 : Tornado
10/12 : Bomb
These are only available in battle:
ITEM (0300450C)
4 : Boost v2 (The blue one)
7 : Invisible
Values needed is position (X/Y/Z) this is the biggest one needed to be found.

Not sure but here the pos values: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/12087700881183999 I found them by finding the Y then making a search attempt of pos then looking for close values

That has to be the first GBA unhandled exception screen I've seen.

Under the Value "Section" it's quite interesting with this and speed values. Section = 0200C518 (1 Byte) # = Race Speed = 0300453C (2 Bytes) @ = Overworld Speed = 03003384 (2 Bytes)
# Section: 56 = Trophy Events, Cup Mode Arcade, Cup Mode Adventure (I think) + CNK Events*
@ Section: 1 = Overworld
@ Section: -12 = Time Trial Mode
@ Section: 2 = BOSS
@ Section: 16 = Purple CNK: Crystals Event
@ Section: 36 = Time Trial Relics

*Not Including Purple CNK: Crystals
So yea I don't think I should've called it "Overworld Speed" This also screws with the Sections for X/Y/Z Pos. Due to the many locations... unless "Overworld" is the same as Pos. Edit: Oh and yea I'm working on the lua right now btw, just putting in X/Y/Z got4n provided and using that as the base searching for others.

All right. Now... uh... hm... Okay. All the values which was required for CNK has been hunted down and added to the lua and watch versions. Crash Nitro Kart lua (4.50kb) and Crash Nitro Kart watch (860bytes) Stuff on the lua:
< Everything is sectioned off in 3's (Minus timers). < There are 3 Speed/Item/Position Values < There are 2 Timers. In-Game and From Entry of level/area. < Total of 6 Sections (Maybe 7) < Cooldown's go to negatives because it calls for earliest frame when hitting L button. < When you hit the box you get told what item you're getting, and if Missile/Bomb you get told if you have 3 shots before knowing. < Everything is white for a reason~! < The In-Game timer is a responder to certain things Countdowns/Frozen Clock/In Game Timer.
Stuff on the watch:
< Minus the Getting told about stuff... Everything is upto frame due to there being a frame issue under lua < Main Timer and In Game Timer are together. < Each Value is split into 3 parts (Race/Overworld/BOSS) < Cooldown is place deliberately at bottom all together. < Cooldown mentions you need to be at 60 in order to get perfection.

This game is more stupider then I thought: Link to video Excuse video quality, it will be updated later. (This never happened) I was creating a TAS test if anyone was wondering. Then that happened during it.

1. What happened? Is this useful somehow? 2. This game feels like a mario kart ripoff. :o

1. There is a part of the game where it checks your location. Since I was driving off the road it was unaware of where I was. If I returned to the track instead of re-boosting it will realize where I am and put me back at first. 2. Evil. CNK comes from the Crash racing series. It was originally started by Naughty Dog (PS1) and it was better thank MK64 because of based CD holding more files and it was actually inspired by Mario Kart (Note: When creating the game Naughty Dog had a level from Diddy Kong Racing in it). When CNK was created Vicarious Visions tried to emulate the Naughty Dog formula and it was given mixed reviews. Due to better gameplay (minus the slow down) the GBA version makes up for it in the gameplay compared to Mario Kart GBA. In other words for the GBA games: CNK > MK

That would suck if this happened in real time when about to win a race. Off Topic: Those Racer portraits are really creepy looking lol.
