Not that I believe this will further the discussion dramatically, but what would be the most entertaining?

To do the run using WW, which requires using deku stick as adult. However, doing that route with the n64 version or the wii/gc versions would be equally entertaining.

I think EagleEye has it right. Also, like rog has said, the only valid argument against Dolphin is that it doesn't run at full speed, but if the site will not accept a run using Deku Stick on B done on Mupen, it's the only choice. In everything other than emulation speed and encoding, Dolphin is perfect for doing the run with this trick.

I don't see how it matters that the Wii version of OoT is implemented using an emulator, internally. It's an officially published game by Nintendo, who cares what code they used?

...Oh, so that was the reason for the different password characters in Adventures of Lolo 3 and BomberBoy?

If it were allowed I would love to see a TAS completion of Brawl's OoT demo if it was possible to complete it in the time limit with the new glitch+Brawl's starting save game.

This. That might be the single coolest idea for a run I have heard in years.

Agreed. That sounds like a good idea to me.

Isn't it 5 minutes? That'll never happen.

Well, 5 minutes doesn't sound like enough time, though it would depend on how far into the game the savegame deuxhero mentioned is. Actually, I don't think any of the Brawl masterpieces can be completed in the time limit (even Super Mario World, which I think only lasts for 2 minutes [about 30 seconds too short]).

iirc, the intro to SMW in the Brawl Masterpieces is cut out and it starts you out in in YI 2, but I don't know how much time that would cut out compared to the SNES version.

I'm pretty sure there's a video of a realtime speedrunner speedrunning it to the Master Sword lying around somewhere. Actually completing it within the time limit, though, seems impossible due to all the cutscenes.

There is, and it's terrible. Could probably be done in half the time. There are not many cut scenes in any% anymore. And the biggest one (the intro) is even removed from the brawl demo. The problem is there's way too much running around. The tas is 19:51. You can save maybe 3 minutes with intro skip, and already having sword+shield, but you're still nowhere near 5 minutes. By the time you get the bottle, you're almost out of time.

Here is the video of that really bad run. As you said, a TAS couldn't complete it in 5 minutes anyway.

hahaha, as "terrible" as it is, it's perfectly timed for a satisfying ending: get master sword, but don't even have to deal with ganondorf, since clearly Nintendo thinks you've done such a good job saving Hyrule you should play something else :)
