Hi guys, I'm new here to TASvids, I already know how to TAS and I've made a few test ones now. I'm 13 years old by the way. But can you suggest what I could TAS first? I'm short in Ideas... :< Here's a list of projects I want to do. Which could be ideal to tas first for a newbie? PSX Megaman 8 DS Super Mario 64 DS (fastest route and 150 stars & all rabbits) GEN Mega Man: The Wily Wars (Wily Tower) WII Mega Man 9 WI Super Mario Galaxy DS New Super Mario Bros (All levels) DS Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (no tweaking glitch) A bit of problem though is Dolphin Emulator runs a bit slow. So I won't be doing that soon. Besides that, are any of those games good for a newbie TAS?

Wiimote recording actually does not work properly right now, so you can rule those wii games out. Just pick a game that seems relatively easy to tas, and that you think you'll enjoy doing, and just do it. Don't worry too much about it.

Of those, I would recommend Mega Man: Wily Wars or NSMB for your first project. The downside to an all levels NSMB run would be how long it would be. Other than that, it would be two solid emulator choices for learning to TAS.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

You can run whatever you feel most comfortable with, I can't really help you with the game choice... Mario Galaxy currently isn't TAS-able to my knowledge. Megaman Wily Wars was TASed previously, but wasn't technically of good quality or something - also it would need to go through all the modes. Feel free to go to a game's own thread in the game forum section to ask for help or feedback.

Wii games that can be played with a GameCube controller can still be TASed though, and if you find one that's easy to make a TAS of, then go ahead and make one. The two games you listed are exclusively controlled by the Wii Remote, though, so you can't run those yet. Also, Mega Man 8 already has a published TAS of it, so your TAS would have to beat that one.

Welcome aboard! Since your games are all very popular, you might have trouble TASing them while having an edge on more experienced runners. I recommend you start by TASing just one level in one of those games and posting to the appropriate topic. You'll get lots of feedback-- probably mostly critical, but that's okay! From there, it's up to you whether you want to continue running the game or pick a simpler game to run. I can only urge you not to get too absorbed in running a single game without consulting with more experienced runners first. Enjoy your stay!

Hello. You should first make a TAS of an easy game, not a big project. Just to learn the basics of TASing.

I'd recommend you just TAS for fun initially, e.g. to make funny superplays that have unusual goals or just goals of entertainment, until (or if) you have the knowledge to compete for time. Just enjoy yourself, or aim to find new tricks perhaps.
