Master Difficulty is accessed through a password in order to play it from power-on. At the title screen, entering "Down, Down, Up, Up, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A" enables all difficulties.
I chose Master difficulty only to rival comicalflop's submission, and to see what kind of improvements could be made. This movie beats the previous by 1032 frames (17.4 seconds) and introduces new shortcuts/strategies.
Floor 1
Only improvement here is the transfer from the moving platform to the final area.
Floor 2
I get 3 perfect "edge hits". Normally, hitting an edge to turn quicker actually loses time. All three instances in this level however, I save time by landing directly onto the next platform rather than bumping upwards.
Floor 3
New shortcut at the beginning, and optimized the ending by turning normally rather than using edge hits.
Floor 4
Improved the second shortcut in this level.
Floor 5
Nothing new here.
I don't think any more shortcuts are possible, but if I think I see anything that could be faster I would gladly remake this movie. I hope you enjoy my first submission!
Edit: Cancelling due to faster transitions between levels being possible, even on a real console.

I've never actually seen Super Monkey Ball Jr. before, but it doesn't look half bad for being a GBA game. The run itself was awesome and entertaining as some GCN runs I've seen. It's too bad the game doesn't have more levels per difficulty though xD

It's one of those games that's really hard to play in real time, so watching speedruns or TASes is pretty impressive. If you haven't actually played the game, it probably isn't interesting.

I haven't played the game, but it looks hard to control. This TAS is short and has some good shortcuts, so I'll vote Yes.

Sure, these Monkey Ball games make pretty cool TASes. Yes vote.

I've played the gamecube Super Monkey Ball games and enjoyed those, and this seems to have similar physics. The games can be tricky to control from my experience. I'm going with a yes vote here, but I wish there were more than just 5 levels available (I think the first GC one had like 30+ or so?).

Never played this game so I compared it to a let's play, and with that comparison this TAS is quite sick. I vote yes.

Master is the only difficulty that is limited to 5 floors. The others have 30 each. This game is insane to control because of the lack of an analog control method (sure, you can use A and B to alter how much you are tilting the course by, but it doesn't replace analog control by any means).

That was pretty neat, and hey, it's a significant improvement on a published run! Nice work.

I thought this was pretty fun! The shortcuts were somewhat unexpected, and the close calls with edge hits were good to watch. I think this should get published, and if someone makes a full run through all the stages on an easier difficulty, that should probably also get published alongside this. (It would be a somewhat similar situation to what happened with the Chocobo Racing publications.)
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Good job, but it doesn't look like a very good game to TAS. I'll vote meh.

Waffle, do encode again and put it as NotPublic. Maybe this time it'll not be that error I have?

That was pretty boring, but at least it was short. I usually like watching Super Monkey Ball, but those Master levels were just repetitive. Maybe the regular levels would have been more interesting? Voting Meh for the general yawn factor of those levels.

This game looks insanely difficult to play, and extremely frustrating and boring. OTOH, it's fun to watch, especially since it's short.

damn that troll who voted no! HOLY SHIT I KNOW THIS GAME IT IS HELL! This is the reason I'm hitting YES Also what would make it interesting if it was a 100% all levels type run

I think Super Monkey Ball Touch and Go would make for a better SMB TAS, at least until the GC games can be run. Mostly because the grahics, sound, and gameplay is better, and for me the most frustrating part of SMB Jr. is the fact that bouncing on anything slows you down, which is the opposite of all other SMB games, so bouncing to incredible speeds just isn't better. I saw a little WIP in the SMB Touch and Go thread, and I'm betting that working on that game will be a better use of time. I cancelled my old run because of poor viewer feedback. I'm voting meh on this run, with the preference that you work on the DS version.

I have a 100% run of this game almost finished, and I'm not too sure about submitting it if people thought this short run was boring! Thanks for the feedback everyone nonetheless, and comicalflop, I've already start working on the Touch and Roll movie :)
