The NES version of this game already exists on this site but I said to myself that as Super Mario World [1944] SNES Super Mario World "warps" by bahamete, kaizoman666, Mister & PangaeaPanga in 09:57.82, [2229] GBA Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World "warps" by Masterjun in 10:07.98, he could have a 2nd version.

Stage by stage comments

Not entertaining--far less enjoyable than the NES version. If it must, Vault it.

I'd rather see a TAS of the challenge mode (get five red coins, a Yoshi egg, and a predetermined score in each level). Otherwise, this doesn't offer enough different stuff compared to the NES run to justify watching. There aren't even any wall-going-through glitches!

http://tasvideos.org/3417S.html Rejected for optimization concerns. Still an awesome watch, that notwithstanding.

Interesting how this is actually slightly shorter than the TAS of the NES version (probably due to the ability to skip the World x-x screens immediately).

at ~4:30 why didn't you do the alternate pipe glitch ? (I tought, until last year, that it was the right way to do it) And for this version, I would prefer a 100% run (coins, yoshi, score)

The alternate pipe glitch doesn't work in SMBDX.

SMBDX is the only SMB version I've got, I'm pretty sure I did it on my GBC (went to will try on an emulator. edit: couldn't do it, I may have dreamed it :/ edit2: or not... ) Zowayix> I'm speaking of the 8-4 one. (sorry I didn't specify)

To be specific, the particular alternate pipe glitch for 4-2's warp zone doesn't work, because you need to get ahead of middle of the screen. In SMB (NES), the screen won't scroll if Mario is going through a wall. In SMBDX, it will. The 8-4 alternate pipe glitch still works in both games, since it involves Mario getting behind the middle of the screen.
