I got a question. What took so long to make a ps3 emulator other than lack of motivation? I mean, the Wii had dolphin for quite some time already, so why this took that long? Is it hard to emulate?

Development was actually started in 2011. The PS3 has pretty much nothing in common with the PS2, which is still not emulated that well, so compared to Dolphin the developers had to start from scratch. There is also a smaller fan-base for the Sony consoles compared to Nintendo so the number of emulator developers is smaller. Not to mention the octa-core detail of PS3 which has to be really hard to emulate on a functional level.

I imagine the Cell processor would be significantly harder to emulate than most conventional emulated consoles. Even the Sega Saturn is noticably behind emulation-wise (compared to similar consoles) because of its awkward hardware structure which makes it hard to emulate. Also, I guess that five years ago no PC would be able to manage a PS3 emulator at an anywhere near sensible framerate, so it wouldn't really see much use at the time.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

That is still, and always will be the case.

Because PS3 has much better graphics than Wii. I don't think they got a PS2 emulator working properly until about the time PS3 was released, so I wouldn't expect a working PS3 emulator until maybe 2014, and it will only run 5 FPS at the beginning.

Actually, it's more likely that the first Little Big Planet TAS will be on PSP (because PPSSPP is a very good emulator of PSP, Delroth one of the big devs of Dolphin heads it, and there's been interest in the past into making PPSSPP into a TASable core)
