This is a TAS of the GBA game Action Man - Robot Atak. Professor Moran is kidnapped by Dr. X and it is up to the Action Force to bring him back. Characters of this game are Action Man himself, Red Wolf and Flynt and we have to destroy Dr. X
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Uses death to save time
  • Heavy luck manipulation
This TAS is improveable, but soon i will make it faster
Screenshot suggested: Frame 33558
I hope you like this TAS

Noxxa: Judging.
FractalFusion: Added Youtube encode.
Noxxa: A good run, but considered a bit too repetitive by the audience. Accepting for the Vault.
feos: Publishing...

Could you explain what you mean by this? I think that if you can make it faster soon, then it should be done first. Edit: The TAS didn't really interest me at first. But then it got better. I'll definitely credit the TAS-like shooting in this game, destroying enemies easily and without slowing down. I think it makes up for the few parts that seem slow, or are one of those autoscroll levels. I did notice a couple of what I think are deaths. Did those deaths save time, or were they just for fun? (Personally, I don't agree with doing deaths just for fun.) Also, I don't think there is any need to select the credits. The game is clearly over and done with when you go back to the menu. Anyway, I'll give this a yes vote. If no one else is making a temp encode, I'll do one then. Edit 2: The temp encode is done. See submission for encode.

You mean you want to upload screenshots from your run that show off good moments in it/that you want to suggest could be used for the submission screenshot?

Voted Meh, only the last levels have enough action, but the type of it is the same throughout the game so it gets boring from the beginning and doesn't change too much to get a Yes for a half an hour run.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Voted meh, because despite the level beginning at 13:39 being basically the best thing ever, the game has an unfortunate amount of running directly to the right slaughtering boring and entirely ineffectual robots.

First thing to do is hosting your image file on internet(I personally prefer Tinypic). Then figure out what address your screenshot is on, and attach it on submission like this:

That's it.

Now that I've seen it, I know exactly what should be the screenshot if it gets published :D
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

This seems to be a standard GBA platformer. However, I'm glad to see one of these games which doesn't lag all the time. The art style amuses me too. I found this pretty enjoyable, especially since you can launch attacks without stopping or slowing down. Most importantly, you get to punch a t-rex IN THE FACE :-) FractalFusion: Thank you for the encode! Also, you asked about the deaths by the swinging ropes. After the deaths, the rope is now in the correct position. (It seems it was faster to die than to wait for the rope to swing to the left.) Qwerty6000: Good job! The run seems fairly solid and simple. This seems like a fairly simple game to run, so I have a couple questions: 1) Where are you manipulating luck? 2) How do you think the run can be improved? It seems to me that Stage 7 is the most improvable: * There's lag when you shoot rockets from far away. * Rather than take damage on the ropes, it looks like you should instead shoot the black robot enemies beforehand. Stage 15 (where you play the gorilla) seems a little slow too; it's not consistent whether you punch an enemy or jump. It also seems you make some jumps too soon, causing you to grab edges you don't need to grab.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Ah, it's this game. I've actually played it through. This run uses the E version of the game... but it looks like the game wasn't even published anywhere else, so that's fine. The run is probably good enough to publish. Slightly worried about extra lag from shooting powered up shots and other small stuff, but things mostly look to be in order. It's not super entertaining due to the length of the game and the lack of variety. Meh in this regard.

I was skeptical of the game choice, but this run wasn't too bad. It got boring at times, but I don't blame you. This might be a good game for the vault. If there were something between Vault and Moon, I'd place it there. It's too good to represent the vault, but it's not good enough to be a moon. I like the run anyway.

Shouldn't the author's nickname be Qwerty6000 as well?

I'm pretty sure it's whatever the user submits it as. I know that there are some people who have different usernames then their player nicknames, but my mind's drawing a blank right now.

This is a good run! My biggest complaint is that the hero is named Action Man, and not, in fact, Robot Atak.

Hey, I don't know if it's the right place to say this, but I played the game today, and found you can press B to leave the parachute earlier at the beginning of the game. Saves probably ~3s.
