Hi, I have not found adequate section and topic, so I started a new topic here... My gamepad (SPEEDLINK STRIKE): http://www.speedlink.com/?p=2&cat=4132&pid=23402&paus=1 My (custom made) arcade stick: http://www.podmornice.com/stick/stick_nesrulz.html RGDS, Miroslav

I personally use a Logitech Dual Action for emulator gamepad, with a Gravis Gamepad Pro as a secondary gamepad. The Dual Action is comparable to Logitech's F310 Gamepad, except that it lacks the Xinput/DirectInput toggle switch. The Gamepad Pro is more or less a USB original Playstation Controller, so no analogue sticks on that.

Both controllers mentioned so far look like they have terrible d-pads. I use a PS2 controller connected by a USB adapter.

If I'm playing a game on an emulator, it's because I'm TASing, so a mouse and keyboard are enough (to give the most accurate possible input). For playing games on my PC generally, I use an Xbox 360 controller, because it works perfectly with Linux. (Its D-pad is also terrible, though; I tend to use the left analog stick as a replacement except in menus.)

I also use a keyboard for playing games on emulators (directional input on the numpad, face buttons around the a and s keys). For Dark Souls, I'm using a cheap USB dualshock replica.

Yeah, the Dual Action's d-pad isn't the best. It actually hurts my thumb to use after a while. The d-pad on the Gamepad Pro isn't too bad to use, but I still prefer the Dual Action over it since I can assign extra controller buttons to the right analog. On a completely unrelated note, earlier this morning I picked up Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog 2 gamepad which looks like a bloated Playstation controller and has a hidden 3rd set of "shoulder" buttons EDIT: And of course, I do use the keyboard for emulators from time to time since I can't effectively press L+R/U+D on gamepads with such hard plastic d-pads.

Wired Xbox 360 controllers. They're not in production anymore, and they work instantly with Windows systems without installing any drivers or anything, vibration and all. You simply map the buttons on the emulators... and most non-emulated games (Dark Souls, Portal, Left 4 Dead) instantly recognize the buttons and auto-map the controls the same as they would on console. I scoop up any that I find at any game stores as soon as I find them, but I only have my two right now. Easy enough to take apart and clean and so much less hassle. x_x

PlayStation controllers, any generation. I find them to be very close in feeling to SNES controllers, which have my most cherished games.

USB-PS2 converter here too. I consider the DualShock2 to be the best all-round gamepad ever made, so it's the best choice if you're just going to have one PC gamepad. I do have a wired X360 pad for my X360 as well, but I really only use that for PC games when it require it, and sometimes not even then - for anything I want to play with a d-pad, the DualShock2 just blows the X360 pad out of the water since the d-pad on that is hella awkward to use. The DualShock2 really is the pinnacle of the design the SNES pad pioneered, which was evolved via the PlayStation pad, the DualShock and then the DualShock2. All the buttons and sticks in the right places, and four proper shoulder buttons rather than two buttons and two triggers. Plus, I now have a USB-PS2 converter that takes four controllers, so that's pretty nice for multiplayer stuff.

I usually just use a keyboard when playing games on PC. Occasionally I whip out my Hori Fighting Stick V3 or whatever it's called.

I use an Xbox360 controller if playing at full speed. Keyboard for TASing or checking frame precise tricks.

I use a 360 controller for playing. I know it's not optimal for consoles like the N64 and mine even has a semi-broken analog stick, but I just can't bring myself to finally buy one of those Gamecube-USB adapters. Yeah, I'm that lazy :p For TASing, I really want to have an Input plugin. I hate using the keyboard for anything.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

Only time I ever use a controller for TASing is when 2 or more players are involved, and when I do. I use a GameCube controller.

No love for the Wii's Classic Controller? All of my latest TASing projects have been botted, so I haven't had reason to use it. Nevertheless, whenever I need a controller, I use the Classic Controller, interfaced using GlovePIE.

I'm going to start using the DualShock 4 to play emulators. Works pretty good with SNES games.
