I find it ugly.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Seconded. Also, from a random point of view. Wouldn't it be more appropriate for it to be a single cursor with a trail. Or a keyboard, shaped to an hourglass or something else? I'm pitching ideas here.

It is good to have some feedback (this is not sarcastic). Considering the little planning and design that went into it (this was made from Microsoft Paint), I don't mind that much; it is the only way I could contribute with minimal programming experience (none of which is in C, C++ etc).

The old logo looks much better IMO; more minimalistic with thicker lines and much better for scaling.

I tried running some games in Hourglass r81 (in Windows 7 64bit), so I'm posting my results.
3D Ultra RC Racers				doesn't run
1602 A.D					starts game, but is unplayable (Graphics are glitched)	
Might & Magic VIII				starts game, but crashes immediately			
The Curse of Monkey Island (via ScummVM)	seems to work					
Itch!					doesn't run					
Neighbors from Hell				starts game, but doesn't seem to take any input
The results are the same in Hourglass-R v1.0 interim debug build that was posted ages ago, except for Might & Magic VIII instead of it saying that the game crashed, it just freezes on a black screen. And Monkey Island3 doesn't take input anymore. Monkey Island 3 seems to be working in Hourglass r81. If there is a newer Hourglass-R build that's worth testing, feel free to send it my way. I was also wondering if you could run Hourglass on DOSBox and emulate DOS games that way?

Hourglass needs at least Windows XP to run, I don't think you can install that in DOSBox. We're also still targeting only 32-bit applications.

I actually mean using Hourglass to hook DOSBox. (I've had problems with JPC-rr) The games I listed should be 32bit.

If everything is 32-bit, then ultimately that would not be necessary, although, making sure DOSbox works could be interesting eventually.

Lately I have been using this website called Fiverr to hire some freelance developers to help me code in my mobile apps. I'm very certain that there would be someone out there who would be willing to work on this tool to add support for modern versions of Windows and modern games. I may actually surprise you all one day and hopefully find someone who would be able to implement the features to make this tool great again.

I almost got Strangers Wrath HD to work on the original Hourglass today. But it seems that the tool will need more coding to make it fully compatible.

So i spoke to a dev yesterday and he said that if we wanted to make Hourglass compatible with modern games then we may have to rewrite the framework.

Update: Found another dev yesterday who is currently working on a solution to 'modern games not working'. I sent him the source code. If he is successful I will be happy to update the Github project with some useful code.

So I'm trying to run from the source code in Visual Studio 2015 and it says it can't run because hook.dll is invalid. How do I get it to run in VS Studio 2015 or is it best to be ran in XP? Update: Can open app in Visual Studio now.

What the actual hell? It's a terrible idea to hire people to do work on a project you're not a part of, specially when those hired people will not communicate with the actual developers. 1) This is a very complex type of software which require deep understanding of Windows, process initialization, and concepts such as debuggers, emulators and code injection. Why: Hourglass contain all the above concepts, and without the understanding of the above, you cannot understand the impact of the code you write. Hell, there are even more areas needed for some code, like low level graphics pipelining, sound processing, saving and restoring state of external hardware (not the CPU), etc. 2) The underlying problems as to why modern games don't work, are fundamental design issues, and will be very hard to get to work across computers. Why: A lot of the problems that have to be solved (including clock, graphics, input, memory handling), all require a vast amount of time to get even remotely functional. 3) Any people capable of solving the above problems will either do it for free as a hobby / learning experience by finding me on their own, or they will charge a lot more than what they can earn through Fiverr (meaning, a full freelance software development contract, which provides a competitive salary for the field, easily over 3500 USD a month). Why: The improvements I've done over the course of the last two years, took that amount of time, because solving those problems were very complicated. Some solutions I still can't add properly due to how the rest of Hourglass must change before the solution can cooperate with the rest of the code. I highly doubt this will do anything but cause trouble and/or drama.

Well I could always work on my own tool which could do that kind of thing. Some of the devs I got in contact with said that they knew why games would crash by looking at the source code and one dev said that he could try to get Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty to work with the tool.
