BTG-Neo Turf Masters (japan ver. default settings) Australia course
  • Emulator used: fba-rr-v007
  • only eagle and albatross (including hole in one)
  • risky shots/situations - unusual/unexcepted routes
Big Tournament Golf is like his name says a golf simulation on neo.geo MVS system programed by NAZCA (metal slug...) (i think it the best old gen golf game ever)
holes commentary:
  1. one slice to get the on the fairway after bound...back spin
  2. nothing particular, the road was too far...back spin
  3. switch to driver for hit the slope with power
  4. slow speech skipping (luck manipulation to get optimal wind condition, luck manipulation to bound on the rock (i never get it another way, bounce in water*N)...distance gain (up during low/nice/high shot selection)
  5. one slice to get the on the fairway after bound...backspin to get the optimal bound
  6. going to bunker for fun (possible IMPROVEMENT- hole in one with optimal wind condition)
  7. one hook to bounce off the rock to another rock then fairway...backspin to get the optimal bound
  8. back spin for stop the ball on the slope
  9. one hook to get the on the fairway...back spin
  10. bounce off the rock to get on the green (possible IMPROVEMENT- hole in one with optimal wind condition/maybe possible- bounce off the rock to the hole, directly?)
  11. one hook to bounce off the road...distance gain
  12. perfect shot
  13. bounce off the the rock to get the fairway...pefect shot
  14. bounce off the rock directly to the hole
  15. optimal wind condition to break the distance...perfect lucky shot
  16. bounce off the road to the hole (possible IMPROVEMENT- bounce off the rock to the hole, directly?)
  17. nothing particular...use the leafs to decrease shot power
  18. two slice to bounce off the road to the fairway...nothing particular
Score : -41 (possible IMPROVEMENT -43)
Well this is my first Tas run and i'm pretty ok with it regarding to my Tas skills, now i know i loose some frame on starting and character/course selection, and i still can improve it to -43 ^^

To replay the movie in an emulator, you would need the file neogeo.zip in the emulator folder, and to set the BIOS to "MVS Japan" in the DIP switches menu (available through the Input menu after the game is loaded).

feos: Judging...
feos: Changing the branch to "maximum score", since it is one of the movie's goals, and it suits it more, looking at what playarounds usually have to offer.
feos: Updating the submission with a properly stopped movie. And accepting. And publishing...

You're talking about this run, right? If so, why not call it playaround? (Just to put the reason clear.)
Well, if the run aims for the best score possible (which I think it does), then why not use that as a branch name? It's a pretty well-established branch name and is more accurate.

sorry about confusion i cause with this branch name till it's pretty particular to this game...it's actually a perfect score and a playaround^^' my suggestion : best score> playaround (lot of rocks) i work on germany race with Almeida and it could probably sound like this : best score > playaround (lot of trees)

What's the trick with the japanese version of this game? It doesn't seem to exist exclusively. Maybe I need some special bios other than neogeo?

Where is that? EDIT: OK, found it in the input menu after the game is loaded. Now, as I watched the movie, I want to ask: what was the reason to resume movie for a while after you entered your name? Here it's common to stop it as soon as no other input is provided.

Well, it's usually up to the author. If one wants shorter time, he stops as soon as possible no matter what can be skipped afterwards, as long as the game will finish by itself. Then, some people can skip cutscenes to make the very end appear sooner. The same is with entering your name. If it's nothing too important, it can be ignored. In a Tetris playaround, the way name typing is done is entertaining by itself, so it's there. If you wish, you can type the name as fast as possible and then cut the movie once no other input can speed the ending up. Maybe it would be better after all, because it seems the game needs some input to continue after name typing, right? Like, it won't show the very last screen unless you put your name in.

Arcade Neo Turf Masters (JPN) "maximum score" in 13:06.05 by mamuuuut
This run by mamuuuut plays the toughest course (Australia) and aims to get the lowest (best) final score while showing off unusual or unexpected paths.
Am I the only one seeing contradiction,

In golf, lower scores are better. So the best ("maximum") score would be the lowest score.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

Yes, because if you get a score with +90 you are the worst golfer in existence... Teaching feos golf 101.
