Much better than last time, however there are a few things I am wondering about... - In stage 1, why do you go backward to hit the last purple window? You also miss a shot after beating Nelson, which looks bad. - In stage 2, why didn't you jump up the last escalator? - In stage 3, the Sideshow Bob fight looked a bit slow. - In stage 4, is the Jebediah head really worth it? You sure don't get to make use of it for very long. - In stage 5, there was one spot where you had to get onto a ledge. You jumped once and it wasn't high enough, then jumped again and made it. Does this serve some purpose, or is it a mistake? But still, pretty good all in all, I like this better than LastStarfighter's movie. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

i don't know anyhting about the game but it's a cool looking run, there's room for improvement but you'll at least set the run to beat, y'know? so i voted yes

- In stage 1, why do you go backward to hit the last purple window? You also miss a shot after beating Nelson, which looks bad. - Have to wait for the fuse to go out before I can use the rocket again... and the only time I'm in range is after I'm past it. That was just a "showoff shot" it went right through him but would have hit him if he was still alive - In stage 2, why didn't you jump up the last escalator? - the one before the boss holds you in place and slows you down like an invisible force field - In stage 3, the Sideshow Bob fight looked a bit slow. - don't know i stomped on his feet right when they were able to be stomped on - Sideshow Bob is slow - In stage 4, is the Jebediah head really worth it? You sure don't get to make use of it for very long. - the first one was, I timed it (a few seconds faster) the second one wouldn't have been worth it that was a few seconds slower so i didn't get that one - In stage 5, there was one spot where you had to get onto a ledge. You jumped once and it wasn't high enough, then jumped again and made it. Does this serve some purpose, or is it a mistake? - Don't know I have to look maybe it wasn't possible

Is 28 rerecords an accurate number, or is it messed up? Most runs on this site use thousands of rerecords to get everything down perfectly. Number of rerecords is not a factor at all when judging the movie. Use as many as you need to get it perfect. That being said, I have not watched your movie, so I am not passing judgement on it. It might be perfect, I don't know. However, there is usually a correlation between rerecord count and quality of the movie.

Na it probably used at least a thousand re-records. FCEU likes to crash a lot in this game when I change windows, and save or load states. Every time it did that, I resume the movie on a new file from the previous file and load the state. That erases the re-record count for some reason.

Ah, that's good to hear. Perhaps I'll look at this later.

That jump you were talking about on level 5... I think you're talking about that one that happens with 698 left on the game clock. If you look at what happens after I get on the ledge I jump again with an alien on his way up which I just barely make it under and I wouldn't have if I had made it on the first jump so it was a time killer to avoid damage.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Much much better, I'll put in a yes. But I do think there's room for improvement. It seems like at least one of the donut uses in the last level could be avoided. Also, when you are shooting balloons in the secret area of stage 3, could you respawn them faster by turning around sooner or do you have to go right a certain distance? Would it be better to get one more there and go right to sideshow bob instead of having to hit the last balloon and run back and forth before him? Also, if you are having trouble with FCEU I found disabling sound stops the crashes. And are you using frame advance? Overall, pretty nice work, I liked it. Among other things, the early jumps in the museum were a nice touch.

I'm thinking maybe getting the head in the museum level did slow it down by a second or two afterall. I tried to make use of the donuts as best as I could but those could be more trouble than they're worth too. I would have to try timing them again. The hidden area where I spend like a minute getting 17 balloons is the most monotonous part of the movie. I just keep shooting the balloons until I ran out of ammunition. I made sure to shoot well in advance several screens away to make it faster but it still took a while. There are some warps in that level that can take me to earlier parts of the level through the tents. I wasn't able to find a faster way of getting balloons doing this though. If I can find enough improvement strategys to complete the game in under 17 minutes, then I would try again. I did try turning sound off for a few moments when I was playing to see if that would stop the crashing but it didn't seem to so I turned it back on. I didn't try it long though. Didn't do frame advance either.

I can't understand how this guy can act like nothing happened at all. He flooded our forum with hundreds of automated registrations and other requests in attempt to bring the server down, using over 150 distinct IP addresses (cracked computers) a few weeks ago. He intiminated me, seemingly enjoying the concept of being unstoppable. His homepage lists chatroom flood programs and other utilities of malice he has made. I told him I will not accept that kind of people - people who turn into criminals out of whim - among our contributors. He also said he'll go looking for a site that "has some integrity" instead of my site. So I wonder what he is doing here now.

I wonder why you like this movie better than TheLastStarFighter's, as his was done in 15:44.

Huh, really? Haven't watched that one in awhile, forgot it was that short. What I dug about this one was that it showed me some things I never knew about the game, like the secret room inside Krusty's mouth. There's more variety here, which probably does hurt speed. *shrug* -Josh

ok well his videos no where to be found then. Unless you want to post it for download, I find it hard to believe he did it that quickly.

I can confirm that he achieves it in this time. Comparing levels: Your level 1 is slightly faster than his(though he does do some things slightly faster). His level 2 is faster than yours, due to not using the trashcan warp, and handling some bosses faster. His level 3 is a lot faster than yours, due to using carnival games rather than that coin room to collect balloons. 280ish vs 232 time units. His level 4 is faster, due to not collecting jebediah's head for invincibility Your level 5 runs are completely different, and I lost track, heh. However, he ends at 595 and you end at 550ish. I'm sorry you can't find the video, but I tried to outline the primary differences. You both had advantages and disadvantages compared to the other one. Because the run is slower than an existing one, I'm going to vote no. I'm also curious about bisqwit's comment.

I'll take that back according to http://www.mamma.com/Mamma?qtype=0&query=thelaststarfighter+mutants there was a video where he beat it in that amount of time. It's a shame no one was able to preserve it. That would have been neat to watch. Also, it doesn't matter to me whether it gets "published" or not. As long as the movie file's available, I don't need it turned into an avi with Bisquit's logo and advertisements stamped on it heh.

Right. You can use your own site for that purpose. I'm rejecting this submission because of the feedback and deleting the file because it's not a free movie file storage. It's a submission manager.
