I saw one time a WIP of this game, but the guy that was making it cancelled this. Link to video Thats very sad... Since this could have some potential to be TASed. I'm just saying.

It's quite an idea! I'd be willing to TAS it, actually. It seems someone has speedrun it before, about 7 months ago. http://www.twitch.tv/sychotixx/c/2905869 So a potential route can be made from this.

Well I got quite inspired and TASed quite a lot of it. Link to video Important things to note: -Whenever you land from a jump or fall, it takes Finn 1-2 frames to start moving again. -Damage boosting is possible, but it only speeds Finn up by 1 frame in most cases. It's useless for the most part. -The speed value of Finn's Level Up menu is how fast he swings his sword, not how fast he moves. -Enemy bouncing let's you skip quite a lot of jumping. -The Scarlet disappears if Finn's HP reaches half a heart. -Chainsaw Bear has a swiping attack that knocks you clear across the room. Obviously I avoided that.

I plan on using it to beat Gunter a little faster. Currently TASing the fetch quests before the next dungeon.

Part 2. I'm finishing this rather quickly >_> Link to video Things to note: -The Enchirideon can be picked up in the jail with the Beautorious Wings. It instantly kills any enemy. I'm using it later to one shot Marceline. -Falling sends you back to where you entered the area. I abuse this in the Tomb Dungeon to speed up movement. -Minor glitch involving it, if you exit before Finn takes damage (Via a doorway) the game forgets about it. Very useful. -Aerial damage boosts are very helpful, as Finn won't go into a stun and slow down. They're tricky to pull off though. -The best way to deal with Gunter is to constantly dive at him until he reaches the left side of the screen, and then finish him off with aerial attacks. The Vorpas Hand and Bee came in real handy here.

I'm worried about something, for a moment, I saw that the transitions were slower than usual.... is that normal?

You mean when Finn reaches the edge of the screen? It has something to do with his walk cycle. If he's in the middle of walking or something it takes longer.

and....part 3 Link to video Things to note: -The Marauder Leader needed to be beaten on the right side of the screen so I can get his treasure chest as soon as possible. I use the Crystal Eye to stay invincible while I do this, and manipulate him like crazy to only use his charging attack. -The Jake Umbrella is essentially an extended jump, so only a 1 frame delay when you land like usual. It's very handy for skipping jumps. -You can bounce off of enemies in the Cave Dungeon to skip a lot of stuff. -The Jake Roll is sometimes slightly faster then walking, but the delay once it ends makes it near useless most of the time unless you can prevent the delay via a doorway or something. -The Enchirideon hits Marceline the instant she's open, so she dies incredibly quickly. Currently 8 minutes ahead of the normal WR. Only 2 WIPs to go.

Wow... You are really working on it? Good job!!! Is there a new glitch you found useful yet? Since you found one but it was just useless.

Apparently there's a way to glitch into walls somehow, according to the stream I first linked. I can't seem to find any information on it though.

Reached the 4 cloud levels, but I've decided to start the TAS from scratch. Main reason is that the beginning is hecka unoptimized, and I'd rather make it as good as possible instead of ignoring the issues. Another big reason is the walk cycle thing with Finn during every transition scene. If you time it right you can save upwards of 20 frames from simply walking correctly. I think I'll shift this to a long term project I'll gradually work on while I do stuff like school and stuff.

I'm still wondering why you post useless glitches and not actual WIPs: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/21302709196177355 A question, are you able to fall through platforms with ladders in them to fall through faster?

So, an explanation as to why I've stopped working on this...again. A few things were found recently, which haven't been detailed here. 1) Item Hopping - Using an item to jump again. It's done by using an item right as you jump. Once the item animation ends, you have a frame to jump again. This can be done over and over, or until you run out of items. This can be used to skip the high cliff blocking you from Marceline's Cave, and thus skip the entire Band Bug sidequest. This can also skip the Marauder boss fight, although that does block off the Parachute forever. Item hopping can replace it. 2) Sliding - I initially thought this ability had no uses, due to the downtime after you slide. However, if you slide off any surface, it'll interrupt that downtime and save frames. This can be used EVERYWHERE that there's some sort of elevation change. So therefore, a new route needs to be created that collects as many items as possible. Due to the new sliding trick, it'll have to be done from scratch.

Remember that you can edit your inputs by using Notepad++ or something like that. That way, you can lose as little of your optimal progress as possible, and you can merge it with the new tricks and routes. Just if you forgot... also hoping for you to get motivation again, this TAS will sure be awesome if finished. :)

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/24300505438824693 Start of the new route. About a minute and a half saved. -Sliding off of ledges saves 2 frames each time. -At the end of a slide, there's a frame window to initiate what I like to call 'Glitched Sliding', where Finn stays crouched and sliding. While in this state, Finn isn't affected by wind, which makes the Ear Shield completely obsolete. -Collected a ton of items I needed during the Chainsaw Bear fight.

Because of this exact comment, arandomgameTASer picked the game back up and nearly fully TASed it like the beast he is. Expect to see a full run - very - soon.
